I’ve just realized that it’s possible to have only one of the four characters still alive by the end of chapter 5.
And is the Zhukov guy Morales meets in chapter 4 somehow related to the famous WW2 Soviet general?

Haww yiss. Reading this tonight
@WulfyK I had Morales, Jose ( De La Rosa) and Alba alive in the end of chapter five O-o i *spoilers to whoever didn’t read chapter five yet* just chose to shoot the f*ck out of Maria and Gabrielle
@kai229 I hope Gabby didn’t have the baby in that playthrough.
@WulfyK sure didn’t, i’m not that cruel ;-;
@Wulfyk it isn’t meant to be marshall zhukov of WW2 fame, but it was the first soviet military name that came to mind lol
I’ve added a few more pictures and an entry on the Basques to the encyclopedia. Anyway, hope you like the chapter, the next one is the longest and most epic (I hope), taking place in the biggest battle of the war, The Ebro in summer 1938. The Republic has one last throw of the dice, let’s see how it turns out…
Awesome Alex! Geez this new forum look is weird, i’m gonna take some time to get used to it!
Here it is, Chapter Six!
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93073517/Divided/web/mygame/index.html
It’s a good’un in my humble opinion, enjoy!
There’s everything in their from prison breaks, to teenage soldiers, to assisted dying, some ugly deaths and of course a lot of action!
This one is quite Morales heavy, but don’t fret De La Rosa fans out there (are there any?) the final chapter will include a massive aerial battle in which you’ll get all the DLR you could want!
Hey Clifford, thanks for another Chapter! Playing it ASAP, also, Grammar Nazi Time! “The shotn rings out across the still morning” Shouldn’t it be “The shot rings out across the still morning”? Looking forward for this glorious chapter, also, De La Rosa is Awesome! But Alba is more
Wow, another chapter!
So far it seems quite well, I’m once again impressed by your ability to produce a chapter of that length and quality so quickly.
Nevertheless, there are two things you should improve.
First of all, it’s the interaction between Maria and Morales. If she chooses to seduce him, she seems to be always successful, no matter how her attempts to seduce Vidal and DLR ended, and the player has no chance to deside for Morales if he’s attracted to her at all and if yes if he resists the temptation, reducing him to an NPC here. Depending on the previous choices, this scene might become very OOC for both of them, therefore I think you definitely should rewrite that bit.
The other thing is, the game becomes quite lengthy and it would be good if you gave included a save option somewhere in the middle this will be particulary useful for the next chapter that seems to feature two completely different paths for at least Alba.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I’ve ironed out a few typos etc.
On the Maria/Morales scene, I deliberately take Morales out of the player’s hands temporarily. If you’ve made him into a nasty piece of work, he’ll do nasty things to Maria. If not, he is more reasonable, but you’re right @WulfyK it was a little out of character so I have rewritten the good Morales’ reaction to Maria undressing.
I’ll have a look at implementing a save feature, although there is only the final chapter and epilogue to go. (epilogue will have no choices but what happens obviously depends on your previous choices)
How will the epilogue go? will it say what happened to our characters after the Spanish Civil War?
Yep, basically say what happened historically then what happens to the characters. But as actual scenes, not just “Morales went on to… etc”
EDIT: just added a firearms section to the encyclopedia, thought it might be useful
Very well, looks better now. Do you have an invisible counter of evil deeds for him and the others to dermine if they behave nasty?
Meanwhile I found another obvious mistake: If Alba kills DLR’s girlfriend (and possibly the baby too) in chapter 5, in Chapter 6 he still knows she’s in Campoenes and prays for her. It’s 7 months later, he should know that she’s dead.
And a more generaly, De La Rosa has so far least interaction with the other four MCs and he’s the only one who can’t be the only survivor by now and can’t kill anyone one of the others. Hope he’ll get some interaction with both Alba and Morales in chapter 7.
Had another look, saw another repeated sequence:
Morales finds himself backed into a corner. Before they can attack, they
are cut down by machine gun fire. The Fifth Regiment has arrived! Led
by a Soviet T-26 tank, the communists sweep into the square, routing the
Nationalists.
“You’re late!” Morales jokes. They either don’t hear
or ignore him, given their professionalism. Morales finds himself backed into a corner. Before they can attack, they are cut down by machine gun fire. The Fifth Regiment has arrived! Led by a Soviet T-26 tank, the communists sweep into the square, routing the Nationalists.
“You’re late!” Morales jokes. They either don’t hear or ignore him, given their professionalism. Morales surveys the scene. They’ve done ok, all things considered. The
fascists have certainly paid a far higher price, their own loses have
been relativly light. They’ve held.
And the word relativly – relatively.
Enjoying what you got so far – it is wildly different from anything I ever tried, shifting character and all.
Thanks, fixed the mistakes, added a interaction (kind of an interaction, slightly indirect) for DLR in chapter 6, if certain conditions are met. In chapter 7, he’ll certainly come across some characters from another storyline, and, depending on a particular choice, one of the MCs too. See if you can work that one out…
Should the evil meter affect all of them? In all their interaction? Alba not apologizing to the horseman ,Maria being a selfless and manipulative bitch, morales being hostile and ruthless to all his enemies, the pilot only caring for kills , etc.
Keep up the good work
How nice/nasty the characters are certainly is measured for all and will have an effect on the epilogue i.e. how they end up although most of there behaviour through the story is determined by the player rather than the stat.
Anyway, chapter seven is well on its way to being finished and after that there’s only the epilogue, which won’t take long, meaning the whole game should be finished by about mid-way through next week.
So, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in testing the final game. I’m not asking for a lot, just to play it through a couple of times, mostly just to point out spelling, grammar, continuity issues and such. So if you’d like to, please say and I’ll PM you the link to the finished game when it’s done. Thanks!
I’d be willing to test it. I’ve already made a lot of the available choices so I have a pretty good grasp of the story and continuity. I believe I noticed a couple of spelling/grammar errors, and would be happy to make note of anything I see in my next run through.
Clifford, of course i’d love to test the final game! i’ve been following it since the beginning, i can’t stop now! also don’t you think placing a stat of Nice/Nasty? might be good?
