Hosted Games has a new game for you to play!

Navigate unknown waters, deadly politics, and ancient magic to save your clan!

Diaspora is 33% off until August 13th!

Diaspora is a one-million-word interactive novel by Vincent Cunningham and JJ Laurier. It’s entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Forced out of your ancestral home, your people must sail to the south, where only your vanished father has ever been. But even after you’ve found a place to live, your problems are far from over. A mighty empire controls the nearby coastal city, and the local raiders want it back. You’ll need to find your place in the conflict, seal an alliance, track down an ancient artifact, and fight for your right to belong.

  • Play as male, female, or nonbinary; gay, straight, bi, or asexual.
  • Lead your refugee people to a new home.
  • Command your crew in deadly sea battles and land raids.
  • Fight an ancient sea monster to find a lost island.
  • Navigate a storm in search of ancient magic.
  • Forge an alliance with a mighty empire or magical, seafaring raiders.
  • Find companionship or love among your closest companions, old and new.
  • Shape the values and destiny of your clan as you sail into a new age.

Will you hold fast to your clan’s traditions, or will you plunge headfirst into a new future?

Vincent and JJ developed this game using ChoiceScript, a simple programming language for writing multiple-choice interactive novels like these. Writing games with ChoiceScript is easy and fun, even for authors with no programming experience. Write your own game and Hosted Games will publish it for you, giving you a share of the revenue your game produces.

Been following this project since it was in WIP, admittedly after it had already most been finished but still, I’ve already bought it, just waiting for a time this weekend I can actually play the thing. Or replay it rather

Congrats! Given I read this one almost in its entirety as a WIP, I can already say good job and that I recommend this one to all CoG fans.

I am so thrilled that this is finally out in the world!

Just out of curiosity, is the “box art” meant to represent certain characters from the game? I’m thinking Izzy top left, Sangarinus top right, Aisling in the middle, Pan bottom left, Cormac bottom right?

You’ve got Izzy (also in the image at the top of this thread) and Pan swapped around, but otherwise, yes!
