Funny variable names help to endure many things assosiated with writing consequences to choices.

I misread that as “nonsequences” and now I’m wondering what that could mean. Nonsensical consequence? Non-existent consequence?

Maybe it can be both!

This is so true in my experience, I labelled a silly variable about being wary of a new person in my IF, “strangerdanger”, as a joke just to myself and it made writing variations around it way more fun.

Also the “label lol_lmao” made me laugh really hard. Someones about to mess around and find out!

The *comment function is also really good for getting little thoughts and jokes out of your head, while you are writing

All those are also really entertaining for code-divers!

Holy carp I just finished my second chapter!

It’s passing quicktest, though I’m sure there are hecko unseen bugs on account it’s 46-freaking-thousand words.

I am so stoked to have that under my belt. Probably letting myself have the rest of the day off and then resuming with chapter three tomorrow XD

Tuning an infodump about travel methods

Not that seeing a tetracorn walking down the main street is unusual, as of itself. Quite the contrary. Cars are great for transferring large amounts of (or just large) equipment, but they’re useless off-road, expensive to maintain, and require plenty of armed guards due to how much they attract demons. Horses don’t need roads and can be fast, but only over short distances on relatively even terrain, and they tend to get sick when they eat wild plants, so using them as travel mounts would require carrying plenty of hay on top of everything else you need to be carrying with you; while some rich people still own them (your family included), they are mostly used for galloping competitions. Tetracorns are surefooted, commonly available, and, being only partially domesticated, can tend for themselves when not in use.

I’ve written a bit today which sets up the first Daemon hunt you can do. Heading to bed now and my job for my subconscious while I sleep is to find a better name for one of the main daemons.

Currently they are called Gemini but were originally called Janus. But I don’t like either name. The idea of this particular Daemon is unlike other daemons who whole heartedly embrace the name, gender and personality of their first host and then solely choose similar hosts (i.e Jack will always possess male hosts while Elizabeth only possessed female hosts), this Daemon has never been happy with any of their hosts so far and is constantly switching hosts trying to find their perfect one…so it lacks a name and has a personality which is more a mix of precious hosts.

This particular name is meant to be one given by the one who originally caught them. (Hence why I thought of Janus who is often referred as someone who is two -faced and then Gemini the twins to highlight this Daemon possessing various genders)

Chimera? Part… depends on what version you use as reference, but I think goat, lion, and eagle with a snake as a tail.

Chimera could work solely because of the imagery of the lion goat and snake as it would be a name that an enchanter gave them which depending on the type of person they were could be used as an insult to said Daemon.

As I’m still working on the visual novel I’ve talked about before, I’m also starting to make some more image files for the release version of Falrika the Alchemist. First off, I’m creating sprites of the main characters in the style of classic 16-bit RPGs via a character sprite generator. And then, I’ll proceed with making the title and end cards for each chapter.

Maybe Metis, given the ability to change into anything this daemon wants to be?

It’s less of changing into whatever they want it is more like they keep trying on different pairs or pants but never found one that feels like it fits.

I just found this

duine ar bith

Which is meant to be Gaelic for nobody. Which I think suits the Daemon.

So I think I will have the Council refer to this Daemon as “Chimera” but the Daemon will introduce themselves as “Duine”.

Thanks for the thoughts @vera and @Cecilia_Rosewood I appreciate it.

Well, I was right about being ill.
I’m feeling much worse today, and I just tested positive for covid. :weary:

Guess I won’t get much done today either.
