Dawn of Heroes (WIP) (Updated 09/22/25)(Submitted)

I did another playthrough and can’t replicate it, so maybe it was a bug or something.

Additionally, does turning on the power fantasy setting give any sort of new text in game, or is it the same if we were to just make a really powerful character?

So then, how did I not catch him before he got to Huginn? Can you even catch him with max speed?

With that being said, If your MC has greater speed than him when he’s in the office building when the fire is going on, why do they just let him leave, and not catch him before he can run away?

It doesn’t, no. The cheats were a request implemented after the fact by @Cyphr and a few others. You get the same reactions from just having a SHR higher than Aegis.

Yes, you can beat him. To do it depends on a lot of things. Most important is how you’re pursuing him; on foot, flying, or in a vehicle all use different checks.

Basic Overview of outrunning Torque

Flight is probably the easiest as it only relies on the MC’s flight speed vs Torque’s speed and reflexes. Running is a contest of the MC’s speed and reflexes vs Torque’s speed and reflexes.

If your character is tiring out and/or injured those stats might be too low to directly compete with Torque. The check isn’t looking at max values, but current values.

Dealing with the fire and civilians was prioritized as more important than catching the bad guy. I’ll see if I can address it in the story.

Thanks for the questions!

I appreciate you answering my questions. :+1:

If this isn’t too spolier-ish,

What was that storm that gave the Heroes their powers?

Who was the Scientist that gave the villains theirs, and how exactly did she figure out how to do that? (Book 2 Plot Point?)

Are there only Superpowered people in Ryker City, or does it extend? (I’m not sure If this was asked before)

Were there any other Superpowered Heroes or Villains active during the book, other than those we say.

This is something to come up in a future story. Part two was the plan, but it isn’t plot-relevant until later, so if it clashes too much with part two it might be pushed back. It’s not a huge deal so try not to anticipate it much.

Her character will likely return for later stories, but I don’t have current plans for her. Her importance isn’t as big of a deal as some others.

This is somewhat talked about in the story. Genesis, I think, brings up the spread of superpowers. By the end of part one, they don’t go too far beyond statelines, so neighboring states are starting to get superpowers, like Illinois and Michigan. This will be discussed more in part three.

Yes, there are other superpowered villains running around that are either not discussed or only mentioned. The superhuman population is small in number. A lot of superhumans are not talked about and their powers vary wildly in usefulness and noticeability. A lot don’t realize they have powers because they are mundane or circumstantial, and others died the moment they got them.

There will be more superpowered characters in part three, now that superhumans are recognized as existing after the events of part one.

Good IF, will we be able to get married to Cat in the future? Like she realizes that she doesn’t need her family’s approval and as such Charles and Cat agree to break off the fake marriage so she can be with MC publicly and officially? And vice versa for those romancing Charles.

I’d rather not get into details for things not yet written, as they are subject to change. However, this is currently one of the planned potential outcomes for both in that arrangement. Choices will matter in driving it that way, but there will be drama and no guarantees you’ll navigate to that outcome even within my current plans.

And thanks for the feedback and questions!

Glad to hear, I hope it the survives the idea phase and is implemented. I assume one of the more major of said factors for getting married to one of them will be finding and/or saving Cat’s sister (or just arresting and not killing her or turning her into a hero (or at least antihero) if it turns out that she’s a villain.)

Thank you for writing and thank you for taking the time to reply.
I hope you have a great day/night!

Hello everyone,

I updated the link and I’m sure it’ll require people to start their saves over because of a lot of new variables.

There is an impressive amount of content here. :open_mouth: I tried romancing Val (if that was supposed to be possible) but I think I messed it up completely.

Anyway, not sure how useful this will be since the project is already submitted, but thoughts.

From Chapter 25 onwards, when I did a skill check (mostly diplomacy) the game no longer gave feedback on whether it was successful or not.

One of the many perks that come with being a CEO is when the company funds the food expense.

I think paying for food is already a minor thing if you have a CEO’s salary.

Work badges normally have your full name and not Mr. (Name).

#Choice locked out due to Character Flaw.

Maybe at least hint what this choice could have been?

I let out my relief in a long sigh as I evaluate the damage of the brief combat exchange. The carpenters that GEMS will need to hire to fix all of this will be busy for a while.

It would be maintenance or repair crews. Not carpenters doing the fixing.

I am left dumbfounded over that statement. Given the number of cellphone towers in the city, that would mean that they had to take down the main hubs. Do cellphone towers have main hubs?

They have core networks which you can destroy, which would be faster than destroying towers one by one.

There were some typos. If you have copyedit, I guess you won’t need it? Anyway…
