There’s installation instruction there, it’s very easy. If you don’t know how to create a bookmark manually on your browser of choice, a simple web search should help.
The part i dont understand is the script part, im not sure what i need to add and what i need to keep in the script
Just copy the script to the url input field when creating a bookmark. After that, when you want to use it, just click the book mark and it’s going to run the script instead. You don’t have to change anything on the script.
yeah forgot to say but i managed to figure it out in the end, thanks for the help
There shouldn’t be any weird trick. The cover art goes up in a separate upload when you crate your game. When you upload the scenes for your game, there is an “assets” upload, where you can upload jpgs. pngs, etc.
As far as I know, all you have to do to add it into your scene is to use:
*image imagename.png
And then it should show.
Whoops. I’ve been so busy of late, I meant to get a copy of all my games off just in case but forgot it was down as of a week ago. Pretty sure I have them backed up elsewhere even the older ones…
Otherwise, there might be some copies out there from people that were trying to save the games from deletion, though I can’t be sure of your particular games. I didn’t get too far with my own personal efforts as there were so many games and I got kind of burned out on it after a while. One way or another I hope you get copies of your games!
Thanks Zodiac01. I’ll let you know if I have issues.
All those dead/incomplete games that are about to be lost forever. Yeah, some can be saved, but there are probably waaay too many to save every single one.
Oh, well. Just one of many great things on the internet being removed like games, stories, etc.
(Sorry, I really am not trying to criticize the owner of Dashingdon. Just too many things lost on the internet already. But, I’m not reaaally mad.Just disappointed.)
I managed to get all 2113 of them. Some did not work as they were no scenes files. But it toked a few hours to run my code. Mostly because of some network errors and trying to mitigate them.
(Also, the Programmed waiting times are the ones that made it take so long.)
But it toked multiple days to program all that, mostly because I only have surface knowledge about Python. One other thing that happened was that after 500 or so games I realized that if by some miracle there are two games with the same name it would overwrite the other.)
Don’t forget the wayback machine! You’d probably find a lot of abandoned WIPs on there, but you can download from the site; https://web.archive.org/
It should have plenty of copies of Dashingdon on there, just pick your year.
Wow, you are incredible. I have no knowledge of Python, so I couldn’t have done it. Do you have links to the games, or are they all on cogdemos.ink?
I did not put them on cogdemos.ink.
Would have been a lot of work. And I would need to first ask permission for them all of the individual author. And some of them did not had any way to contact them. And some would mostlikly not answer.
So I did make a personal copy, according to my countries laws. (Or at least what I understood it as law is written complicated.) And the part I am not sure about is about redistributing it to other people. So sorry. If I could say with high certainty that I can do that I would give you the file.
It’s okay.
Oh my, I think I am in love with the Way Back Machine! What a cool idea - wish it had recorded more and its limitations can be a bit frustrating, but it sort of reminds me of a little cyber time machine. Thanks for posting the link!
I am just finding out about this after I wasn’t able to find My works on pc.
appreciate Your service to the community
