I’m more for the colored-choices than the different fonts; the visual differences between norm/bold/italic are unappealing honestly.

I think the color-coded choices should be fine; at worst, those who have color-blindness would still be able to read the text (I assume, I don’t know how colorblindness would affect your reading ability). You could always find any less-than-often used system’s letters/symbols for quick tags to make a better contrast.

E.g. ♅ might mean something that’s peaceful, whereas ♆ might facilitate a violent choice.

It depends on how the app is packaged, if it’s a web app it’ll work no problem, but if it’s wrapped/wrote in or converted to Obj-C it might not.

Sadly I’ve not got any experience with smart phone development and don’t even own an iDevice.

I have to agree with @Caddmuss, the italics/bolds just seem a bit wonky to me. It might be their visual appeal, but I don’t think I’d be able to stand them during a playthrough. Color-coded choices are prettier, that’s for sure, but again, not too sure about how long I’d be able to stand them.

The idea of symbols sound nice, though.

I really do not see the need, but on the subject of color blind. I am and as long as the colors are not similar, such as green and brown, there would be no issue.

I use the color code in my off line work in Ios and android so work in all that’s not a issue. and looks pretty cool and easy too understand. People with color problems is only with similar colors blue and green and they will still reading the option anyway. Couldn’t be more difficult than Hero rise 2 strategy nightmare I pay for something to give me a ******* clue about wtf is witch one . I’m tired to be a Chamaleon

I’d say that the e-ink kindle doesn’t support colour so that could cause issues, but there’s no longer games being made for it. I think accessibility is important. I’m not sure if I’d find colours jarring or not, perhaps you can make a test that has coloured choices and one that has symbols. But I’d use letters suck as T for talk, A for action, F for Finish, or whatever. I’m not sure if they’d end up being invisible though or if they’d be jarring.

Talking is easy, just use quote marks around it. Of course can’t do that if you’re offering “Tell Someone Something” instead of the actual line of dialogue.

I’m going to try something like this in “Rookfall” that can be my test.
