Nah, I’m saying one romance is unavailable! You cannot romance Empress Vaccus. You can romance pretty much everybody else though.
No she used sex magic and I have no further say on it she had mind powers and she put over the player… It is far worse BM forced scene in heroes rise…
When I try to restore purchases, it asks me to log in and then it tells me it’s wrong. Is there anyone who can help me with that?
Are you saying that the MC is forced to agree to the sex, without the reader-gamer’s choice?
Yes, I am. (+20 characters)
I asked during the demo a option to say no even if it means a harm for stats or whatever. For a rape victim that scene is nasty and torture I suffered pain and a stress attack for it. Is a rape apology coming from someone so "determined to defend representation. Hell no that includes rape victims.
In that case, I’m not going to draw a distinction between a traditional rape scene and a forcible sex scene with consent not given by the reader.
Not even the Samurai games did that.
Wow, i didnt even know but literally i still can’t find the story.
@Laguz I mean if the story is making someone uncomfortable who went through horrible events in their life, and its making them relive or feel a certain way the author should change that especially when @poison_mara was one of the beta-testers.
This is the problem. It’s not rape, as the main character is probably consenting to it. That’s what happens in 90% of railroaded sex scenes.
But a player should be given the option, because their morals, past experiences, orientation and identity may make them uncomfortable with sex or sex scenes.
So while it isn’t as disturbing… it’s still inconsiderate and rude and I’m was in talks with @Havenstone because he put one of these “initate romance means proceed straight to sex” bits in his WIP and I was like… no… dats rude.
Mara tends to overexaggerate the “sex magic” used; not that I’m doubting her, but it’s probably just a railroaded sex scene and not any kind of rape or harassment. I mean, did he used to do that with Breden? Well, Breden’s romance is absolutely dandy now, but, yeah, there’s still a sexroad in that game elsewhere.
I do agree with Mara. Either a choice or a warning of some sort should be put in the game out of courtesy to the players.
A rail-roaded sex scene is one thing - but what you describe (I have not seen the scene yet, so I can not judge myself) is non-consensual on the reader’s part so it would meet the standard.
An option to “fade-out” from the scene should have been written and I’m very surprised that with Mara’s feedback and perhaps others’ this was not included.
As far as @Havenstone goes, I can’t comment on things yet either but if there is such a scene as described here in his story, I will strongly urge him to include an option to “fade-out” from the scene…
I know that I wouldn’t want to read a sex scene that is only “probably” consented to.
You don’t get this, you don’t get this. @Havenstone does fade out.
It’s not the detail of the sex scene, though it may be, but the fact that a player might identify strongly with their character; and having no control over them at this point may feel like a slight against the player themself, who may have one of the aforementioned issues with sex or the implication of it, even if a fade out is used.
I’m just slipping in a little note here, because the conversation disturbs me a bit.
@jasonstevanhill and @RETowers, are you aware of this issue?
Yeah so felt like I couldn’t keep discussing this until I actually knew exactly what happens so I just quickly ran through to the controversial scene. It is certainly ambiguous and there should be some kind of warning or something but I don’t feel like it is straight up rape. Maybe just some minor re-wording or an extra choice put in.
I’m very glad you said something because i usually like to play through all choices and if i had come upon a rape scene I think I would have had a really bad panic attack
It’s not a rape scene, it’s a railroaded sex scene. No one is raping anyone.
Can we please leave the rape discussion for now until one of the staff who’ve played the game can come and address the issues.
I’m not saying that it’s not an important point to have raised, but at the moment we’re just going on something that was one person’s interpretation of an event that happened in the beta test. I think otherwise we’ll just keep going around in circles.
I liked this one, when the author is not trying to push an agenda, he can write an amazing history with excellent characters.
This one is all about politics, alliances and betrayals and is very focused on the characters.
I have to thanks @poison_mara to assuade my fears that this game would be like the Redemption Season, because of that I enjoyed a very well written story.
There is no new female romances, only a gay RO (light guy, a bi guy ( giant pink dragon Who shapeshift into a man) and a NB RO attracted only to others NB ( the god who created your planet and for some reason has the title if Prince ). Because of that I only did the Venuna’s romance.
About her romance (not touching the rape argument) I liked because it’s very different from the others romance in games. She makes clear she is the one in command and you belong to her. While I liked the dynamics off her romance, I did not like to be part of her harem, the game ask my opnion about it, but does not let me voice it. I think it is going to be touched in the next game.
The choices in this game actually matters, there is some railroading but the branches with different options add a lot of replay value to the game.
I just have one fear about this series: how much game can this one have before it’s no longer interesting? Because we still have 22 rounds of Versus Match to go and I don’t think the readers Will await 22 more games.
I’m still have my doubts with the Redemption Season, but they were lessened with this game. Hopefully Mara can test the game and after the release tell us her impressions.
Yes, as I said before The rest of game is WONDERFUL. Varied for a Cog and with very interesting characters. Wonne planet and political issues pointing a civil war are so great and replay value is big.
The only problem is Veruna romance who I have to recognize they took my feedback account and the scene is far far better from before. Still I believe it should targeted as +18 and warning about that. I hope they change a little more to make it better. The rest is well and good and Zachary is a great writer
Hey curious as to what planets people got. I tried to be as off-hands as possible and got the revered vigilantes planet which I assume is where Breeze comes from, so does that make it weird that I hooked up with her? Would that be like me having sex with God?
