I noticed that while playing truth or dare during the party, if you pick Sam this line appears.
For a brief moment, you entertain the notion of what it would be like to kiss Sam, for real - and whether heād ever wondered the same things. A beat passes, before you shake those thoughts from your brain.
However, at this point my character had already kissed Sam before leaving. Seems like a bug?
If I may suggest something, when starting the game you choose the genders of ROās - the descriptions are not very helpful, I had to cross-reference it with the RO list to know whoās being spoken about. Perhaps you could change it to a choice between deciding now or deciding when meeting them or at least you could use their names
Holy wow, I love this game. As someone that actually plays tennis a bit (though not at that level by any means) itās really really fun to play as if it were me in the game. And dangit, the various characters and humor are all super endearing~, something about the story really clicks with me. I enjoy developing my tennis style, and I know Iām going to be anguishing between Sam and Genevieve as favored RO. Wish I could go both- donāt know if thatāll be possible or not, will love it either way. Thereās an intangible funness to this game, maybe itās a personal opinion thing, but I enjoy it on a level that makes me personally happy the same way a good slice of life anime can. Keep it up! Iāll be bouncing up and down at the service line waiting to be served more story.
On a separate matter- you know how youāre undecided on whether to add images for the characters or not? How about making it an optional choice for the player at the beginning of the game? Have the images show up in the team roster/relationships tabs in the stats page if the player opts for them to be shown. Personally, I think it adds something, but I understand the wisdom in keeping it available to not display them.
@mango_pirate Ah! Yes, I might allow the player to choose G and Samās genders when meeting them; If so, this should be up by the next update! Thanks for the suggestion
@TheBlackOtaku HAHAHA wait whatās izanami?? you get stuck in some sort of state between creation and death? an error screen? if so, would be super helpful if you could let me know whether youāre meeting G via the Thalia (music), Mike (truth or dare), or Emerson (beer pong) routes, so I can double-check the code!
@Shawn_Patrick_Reed AWW gosh, this is such a nice comment, I may or may not have read it a couple of times. Iām so glad the story clicked with ya, and that itās brought a lil bit of joy! Thank you so much for leaving this message, and hahaah itās great to know youāre torn between Sam and G! I feel usually itās the Rayyan fans who also end up liking G.
I have no plans to make a poly route for now, but if I do, youāll be the first one to know
Ooh, this is a cool idea! Love it! Currently, though, Iām not sure whether Iād want the images to be more illustrated, or more realistic - especially if it ends up being part of the full game. By the way, I wonder if everyone knows what the copyright rules are for the images generated through ArtBreeder?
As I start on Chapter 2, thought itād be fun to set up a poll!
Feel free to elaborate for the skills/playing style portion, as I realise I wonāt really be able to tell which pairings are being used (unless I set out a whole bunch of options, and Iām lazy).
Iām in this mostly for the tennis
Iām in this mostly for the slice of life college scenes and overall story
Iām in this mostly for the romance

Whilst Iām not surprised that tennis isnāt the favorite option, I want to say that this game actually made me care about tennis. Before reading, I half expected to be skipping most of it but that didnāt end up being the case. Your love for the game really comes through and becomes infectious. Had a lot of fun with the match against Emerson and I canāt wait for more of them!
@Akky42 Ah! This is so, so good to hear. Iām glad the tennis scenes are also appealing(ish) to folk who come in with no huge interest in the sport! Stay tuned for⦠a match against Jacks and⦠a doubles match (both of which might determine who your doubles partner will be!)
And yes - Iām not surprised it wasnāt the favorite option either
@Big_fan1231 HAHA. A good problem to have Until⦠you have to decide. Heh.
@Valixon Ooh thanks for the answer! Yeah, I wonder if itās considered ācreating them myselfā if itās through messing around with the other base-faces and mixing 'em with other faces and tweaking some attributes. Seems sketch.
Surprised that Sam and Tobin are the least favourite ROās. Sammy is so cute and I particularly like that we can have the mc only realize that they may be attracted to Sam at the worst time, aka after going to college during the truth or dare game.
The tennis segments are actually fun too and I say this as someone who cares far more about cute athletes than any sport.
Yeah! Perhaps in both cases itās more of a slowburn compared to G and Rayyan - with Sam thereās already a high level of existing comfort and platonic love, and with Tobin itās just tender/gentle and slow because itās in Tobinās nature, I guess. Perhaps also because theyāre so well-loved that itāll take a while for MC to become: special, I guess.
But yes, totally agree that the fun part in Samās route is the terrible timing, which leads to repressed feelings.
(On the other hand, Gās overt flirting has a clear deadline, and Rayyanās obvious early antagonism/reservations will have to be overcome.)
But I think the main factor here might also be that Iāve given G a lot of recent screentime, with Tobin not having a dedicated scene yet.
YAY! Hook u with the cute athletes, make ya grudgingly enjoy the tennis.
I am very happy that you did give the option to keep the training wheels onā¦because while my cutie mc obviously knows quite well what he is doing the same doesnāt go for his hapless player and I do need the regular reminders of what everything does tennis-wise. Although I suspect it will become less of an issue in the published end product where it will at least stay in my short term memory for a marathon playthrough. Heck I might even end up actually learning something at this rate.
Ah, really enjoyed this update! That match with Emerson really had me stressed even though I was just clicking buttons haha. Also loved the truth or dare scene at the party.
Feedback/Questions
This is small feedback but in the stats Sam is the only one with āSam_friendshipā instead of āSam (Friendship)ā like the others
I am little bit confused about this section. It says that things got heated before but I donāt think at any point there was an argument? I did another playthrough where while heās tying his shoes I smile instead of teasing him, the āespecially since things
had already gotten slightly heated previously.ā doesnāt appear. But even when I teased him, the text implied that he took it playfully. Hopefully what Iām trying to say makes sense haha
This was during the match, Iām guessing thereās another skill thatās missing before intelligence
However in my play through Sam and I have already kissed. I was thinking maybe this section could have a check so this part would make more sense if you havenāt kissed yet.
Also kinda wanted to see what messages we were sending to Tobin and Rayyan. (Like now Iām curious to know what I implied for Tobin to react like that especially since throughout the game he didnāt seem to mind the flirting)
Also wish that if you decided to send a message to them and then met them later that night itād have been brought up?
Lastly I just wish we had insight into what we ended up discussing with them when we met. I feel like it couldāve been a really good time for more friendship or even romance choices?
But yeah this was such a fun update to play. Really loved it! (:
HAHAH! Aww, the fact that you speak so confidently and casually about the published end product fills me with immense motivation.
@kckolbe Ah yes! I think Sam works very well as a friend, gives you an outside perspective on the outside world beyond Cargill - and serves as an anchor/lifeline back home too.
@HauteOte OMG! This is amazing. You make some awesome points! Thank you so much for taking the time, and Iām glad you enjoyed the update. My responses are below the cut

Youāre right, the teasing option shouldnāt show up as having been āheatedā. Itās more that Emerson gets annoyed if you teased them about the laces, then pushed-back on their call. Iāll change the phrasing for that part!
Ah yes - charisma or intelligence should allow you to play that option.
Ah yes good catch - Iāve changed that to acknowledge the kiss that you had with Sam before college.
This - and the suggestion below, on having an extended scene w Rayyan and Tobin is a great one, I will work on expanding the options and the dialogue for this Thank you again!
Always been more of a soccer/hockey/martial arts/basketball type of guy, Myself, but the detailed ways in which the tennis matches are described⦠Well⦠I have no fucking words. And as a graduating college senior, I love how the interactions with dorm mates and our friends are proceeding so far, giving me lots of parallels to the crap I went through for the last four years. Not normally a fan of these types of slice of life games but Iām definitely hooked. As for the sense of humor in the snarky comments, damn, does it click. And back to that tennis writing, as someone Whoās visually impaired, the fact that I can mentally picture those scenes in exquisite detail is a testament to how good the writing is and how itās managed to trigger off all of the senses. Conclusion? Keep up the good work
