I’m on the opposite position - my dump stats are Strength and Serve, which look like to be Rayyan’s strong suits, so our skills are actually complementary.

I actually suck at serving in real life, it is one of those things I still mess up all these years later I am good at volleying but suck at serving, I am a dominant net player overall, I don’t like to sit on the back, I prefer to dictate the tempo of a point to my comfort.
Also as the complete Tennis Jock I am, I completely avoided drinking and parties, I am too responsible of an athlete, though I absolutely slapped at Lasertag I just went like full operator quiet, steady and deadly, I was Captain America with a Beanbag shield, I threw that thing at the girl carrying the flag to save our team.

Mm yes, absolutely. I think this summarises a generous reading of Rayyan’s actions, but I totes understand that not every MC cares to extend that kind of generosity to what is essentially steamroller behavior- but I think Rayyan’s dedication to winning and perfection at all costs is something that is both a strength and a weakness.

Oh no wait, I don’t think I articulated what I wanted to say as best as I could have. I meant like, after the whole blow-up at the doubles pairing reveal and more at Monday practice again. Like, I wanted to have the choice to give him the cold shoulder or something. Although now that I think about it, that is such an immature response for anyone to make and I would like to retract my suggestion now.

I don’t know, “Fuck off and die, Rayyan, you think I’m glad to be paired with YOU?” sounds a pretty reasonable response to me.
Just to note, though, it isn’t Monday yet. Before Monday practice, there’s going to be a talk with the coaches.

In 2_2 after finishing the finesse drill and if you manage to get the devil’s dozen, there is currently no way for your teammates to further stroke your ego for also winning the strength test because of the variable (weights_position = 1) which you can’t achive as the jump height test during 1_1 always increase weights_position by atleast + 1.

Heh, the only Poly my mc would be interested in is Sam and Tobin as our hot team captain is the only other boy besides Sam capable of sending his thoughts into the gutter.
Unless mc already has a fairly flexible style, mine is an all-courter like Tobin just with a bit more strength focus than is typical.
I am transparant that way I guess, but Sam is just so cute!

Frankly speaking we need an extreme version of lasertag that works like rugby, where it just becomes a full on contact sport where people end up wounded, it would probably make it a lot more interesting to see two people run into each other and start a CQC fight to survive, I mean some of the most popular sports involve fighting like Hockey, it would not be Hockey without a fistfight or a couple of missing teeth.
I mean I’d pay to see grown men beat each other up in a game of Lasertag

Tobin doesn’t derive all of their self-worth and joy from tennis alone- in fact generally speaking they prioritize many other things in life. In my head at least, Tobin doesn’t even intend to turn pro- I think it takes a certain kind of person (with tunnel vision) to take on the grind that is 10+ years of competing at the top level. Anyways, thats why Tobin’s the capt and Rayyan is not.
Yeah I think part of the complexity of writing Rayyan is portraying the difference between them at rest/off the court, and them on the court in terminator mode. The challenge is to gradually flesh out why there’s this divide, and the goal is to give folks whiplash (at least at the start).

Yeah you’re right - this mismatch in years left in college is part and parcel of college doubles pairings I’m afraid 
- also a problem if MC partners Tobin. Like, Rayyan and Tobin were lucky because when they were freshmen (and in the Top 6), they got to partner each other so no other previous upperclassmen pairs were broken up. MC doesnt have that luxury this year.
Yeah I’ll probably make it a tad more substantial if I have time next update. Especially because it’s true that G had very little screentime in the later part of the chapter once MC gets caught up in doubles trouble (though that’s also literally the point of the chapter).

That’s actually something I wanted to ask. R and T both seem to be aware of MC’s interest with each other which is also recognized by other members of the team. Would the ROs react badly later on if we like, kissed all of them?

I’m narrowing down the majors for my mc here, but I cannot decide between business and astrophysics. On the one hand business could be of practical use in my mc’s life as it would largely allow him to act as his own agent, whether as a tennis pro or if he needs to make that transition a professional actor and singer on the other hand astrophysics has a certain cool factor and I figure my mc has already been subconsciously calculating trajectories, mass and external factors affecting them of certain round objects (although he would lean more towards astronomy strictly speaking, but the fields are highly interrelated in modern practice) for most of his life, so why not make it formal?

Both of those majors are gone in the new demo. I noticed cause I always chose astrophysics before too.
Also, continuity error.
I skipped the party, went out for an after-dinner stroll and met R, went back to my room, heard a noise, met G out on the roof. Got cheek kisses and watched the stars. Now I’ve met D and was reintroduced to G and got another batch of cheek kisses. I’m not complaining but I don’t think I’m supposed to get it twice.
