Already answered this: Zvad or Suzane/Simon. If none of them are available that’s more of a problem. Tbh if those two aren’t available and I refuse to trust those who joined at the end of chapter 3, bc they haven’t spent long enough time with the band, then I don’t actually belive anyone is the right person for the job, so that just leaves me trying to choose the lesser evil?
Edit: In defense of Radmar. While he is far from the kinda person I think would be a good leader at least he has the some common sense, opposed to Kalt whose only interest seems to be to kill nobles. I’m saying this about Radmar bc when I beat the Phalangites even he admitted that this isn’t something what could be done again at least not yet, while I’m not sure Kalt is sane enough to realise even this much.
I think it should be unlimited , i had saved quite many in Zombie Exodus… in CoR, i had 3 although i am only concentrating on 2 of them, i believe i could save few more there …
Don’t be so quick in dismissing Yebben because of his disability. He is smart, even tempered and, as you say, loyal. He proved himself a capable administrator. He doesn’t seem to possess particular biases. And if you teach him theurgy that’s no small advantage (and it’s been hinted that it could make him overcome his disability entirely).
We cannot be sure anyone would be a good leader and every choice has downsides. I’m merely saying that Yebben has qualities that make his appearance in the selection of potential leaders at the end of game 1 justified.
@Havenstone I hope it’s not too much of a spoiler to ask if you plan to have something like chapter 2 (surviving winter part) in the sequel too or it will be more story-centered?
Plus if you play a cosmopolitan mc, like me, this is the first chance to show the Rebellion values the contributions of the other provinces. The flipside might be that letting Korszata lead the band might lead to some defections by the more hardcore, Shayardene nationalist rebels and would announce early on to the world that the mc’s rebellion is not a Shayardene nationalist one.
No, she isn’t. She’s too much in thrall with Breden and too vulnerable to charisma in general.
Yebben is probably the best leader for some of the styles of rebellion a high intellect mc can gravitate towards.
My mc just doesn’t let him because he fears Yebben might be too good of a leader and too talented a mage that he could really usurp the leadership and supplant my mc in position during our enforced sojourn to the Xaos lands. This is also the reason my mc holds off on training Yebben until after said sojourn.
His disability isn’t much of a factor really. I wonder if he would even want to have his eyesight once we are in position to do so? @Havenstone was Yebben born blind so that he needs to learn how to see from scratch or did he lose his eyesight somewhere down the line?
Plus in my main game he defected before the fighting. For my mc this really leaves Korszata as the only viable option. Zvad simply hasn’t got the spirit of a true rebel.
Yes, but something like that could also be said of the high-int mc and for the most part they prove adept at learning the basics of leadership on the job. The same likely goes for Yebben, particularly if you train him as a mage, which would give him a position akin the mc as the rebel’s only mage, before the mc has to leave to throw the Hegemony off their scent.
If Breden is left in charge I wouldn’t be surprised, upon the MC’s return, to find a tearful Breden telling the MC that there was nothing she could do (aside from personally escape unscathed) when the Hegemony captured everyone and harrowed them. Feh.
My usual choice, for the reasons you stated.
Elery would be a great choice if she wasn’t so blinded by Breden’s charisma. Breden would be able to talk Elery into handing herself and all the other rebels to the Alastors for harrowing, and Elery is so enamored on Breden that she wouldn’t see it until was too late.
…If that happens someone is gonna find themselves without head
That would be one great way to kill romance. Not even my most compassionate mc would be able to condone that kind of failure and betrayal
There is no proof Breden was the traitor, i still think it was Joanna…
Besides, MC is the real target , not the rest… why Breden want to betray everyone , with her as the obvious suspect ? Joanna was the traitor who frame Breden…
Who is Joanna … Is my old slave… She is dead in my playthrough SO SHE CANNOT BE THE TRAITOR. My fellow rebels, I am the key to know who traitor is due is someone plot blinded a joke
Actually just the other day I had the same thought. She isn’t too obvious, but since she has a good relationship with the MC she is probably well informed so she could give out information to the Hegemony’s people. Also she was there when the poisoning happened, but not so obviously that she would be the first one to come up as a suspect. Now if she is a spy she is a clever one not like Breden if she is the traitor.
No smoking gun perhaps, but the circumstantial evidence is fairly overwhelming, at least from the perspective of a player who has had many play-throughs, If not the MC’s. If this were real life, I’d say I was certain beyond a reasonable doubt, but this is fiction, so anything is possible I suppose.
I disagree.
Because she’s a kryptast plant who looks down on the helots she’s guiding into the jaws of a harrower.
I had Joanna in my save people trial and no Breden no poisoning. She could have framed Rad the druggie … Still nope no poisoning. BREDEN =poison scene
No Breden no poison.
Yes precisely, Joanna was a lifelong servant in the family , she practically monitor everything thay happen in the family so she knew i am meeting Breden…
And in the meeting , Breden gave hints that the traitor could be elders , when Joanna angrily repel her claim… suspicion suspicion…
I remember after the poison scene , there was also hints that Joana was the one who distribute the food … because only half of the people was poison… @poison_mara… because joana want to frame Breden and kill her, if Breden was not there, there was no reason to poison everyone to put the blame on Breden …
I think Breden also suspecting Joana , because Breden can sense a fellow assassin, Joanna wants to get rid of Breden so that she remain hidden. @P_Tigras… well my friend , i think those evidence are an obvious plot to frame someone, thats how pwople in real life looking for scapegoat
And honestly, i think there is hint of joana being the traitor especially when we had a meering , she react suspiciously after Breden claim we should not overlook the elders, joanna scold her and breden kept quiet… suspicious indeed
the one reason that keeps me personally deciding that Breden is traitor is the fact that even if you exile them in the beginning in the final battle if you fight against the Hegemony forces your deputy will mention they know too much about you because the traitor has informed of their numbers and way of fighting…
so the option could be Joana. Would explain how she has lived so long
Although maybe Breden was able to tell how they fight even if she hasn’t spent the whole winter and spring with you…? Because she knows the helots and possibly mc’s strengths and weaknesses…there’s a thought…
it was implied Breden spies on mc cause one of my test playthroughts my haughty mc tried to beat Breden up after the poor Poric incident, but her COM0 so Breden actually went to get bola and said she knows how “well” the mc can wield her sword
I think absolutely all leaders in the harrowing were traitors or spies. For several factions and without knowing themselves. It was a very careful 4 harrowing all the stage… The Lacoste guy. … Nobody expected anything of mc.
My mc has no anything t do with Breden still she knows I am bad at fighting
Yes… i agree with you too…
And Breden gave reasonable doubt that only half the rebels had been poison, and that half , the food being distributed by joanna, i remember reading that… Joanna quickly denied it and provoke the occasion , suspicious suspicious again…
