Mules that haven’t been Changed by Theurgy can cross a Ward. So unless Mr Pumpkins is an Abmule, he can cross with Mara.
(In your headcanon, that is. I’m sorry I won’t be offering an option to have a mule as your traveling companion in the Xaos-lands.)

Just repread XoR 1… again. This IF is an ass for still hiding previously undiscovered content and still finding new heartstrings to pluck, especially ones long unused and terribly out of tune. I’m not sure if it’s OK to ask but does anyone know of anything else that might be of at least comparable quality?

I’m not sure if these are accurately comparable, but I enjoyed them as much as XOR
If you want another rebellion story you can try Empyrean. It’s more light-hearted and the world building is really good.
If you want something more story-driven with a lot of character interaction, Heroes of Myth is really good.
Choice of Deathless is short but the writing is artful, you’ll enjoy how the author uses the english language.
Choice of Robots is a classic and it can tug on your heartstrings.

Sabres of Infinity and it’s sequel Guns of Infinity are what come to mind. Heroes of Myth is another gem but a significantly shorter one(being a standalone and not an epic saga of four-five books).

Let me partly redeem myself by discussing on-topic. How awesome are Wiends? They are pretty awesome, aren’t they? Beautifully do they showcase certain character traits that hasn’t been believably portrayed since certain author was around… Well, not in cultural context anyhow.
Alas I don’t think we’ll be fortunate enough to get some more of them in the next, Xaoslandly installment.

@Havenstone was it your intent to not lower Elery’s relation stat for an mc who chose zvad as deputy and doesn’t go on any raids? The “e_rel” lowering due to snubbing breden only happens at “eleryintro”, which is only triggered when choosing to go on a raid.
(I know it’s not really relevant to anything now, but digging through the code is giving me something to do while social-distancing 
)

What, where, and How!
The Tagmatarch (leader of the enemy army in the last final) has a theurge-forged sword that is supernaturally sharp.
To get it with an INT2 character, you must be in a romance with Breden, who will reveal a kryptast code in the final chapter if you are still in a romance. You must then be captured in the final chapter by the enemy army, and choose “I wish to make an accounting!”. You will then be escorted to the Tagmatarch, who you must kill with theurgy. Do not tell her your real name if you have used theurgy before, or she will kill you instantly. Do not attempt to free your rebels if you do not have Simonz.

Yep, Braden is a dirty traitor who I keep around in case I need to acquire Kryptast secrets via less than friendly means.
