@Havenstone: I just saw the revised romance list from July and I now have a question: Do abhumans look down on monosexuality, or is it just a coincidence that both potential abhuman love interests are pan?
I can see why you’d feel that way. What I think is great about the story are the many permutations with how you can move through the narrative - whether you’re an Aristo or a Helot, someone with enough intellect to grasp the arcane arts or who is charismatic enough to persuade people, the flaws you have to grapple with because you aren’t perfect, how many are initially part of your rebellion because of how you elect to handle the Harrowing, and how you decide to survive through the winter and at the very end with other lives in your hands. It really does end up feeling like your protagonist’s choices matter and reflect who your character is.
My canon character is an Aristo who is trying to maintain low Anarchy to keep the door open for other groups (he recruited Simon and only gained 22 Anarchy at the end), so it’s a bit similar to how you approached it, although he “re-discovered” Wisardry and is a known skeptic (the “Great Disbeliever” as some have apparently come to call him) so I can see the Priests of Xthonos not being his biggest supporters (unlike the Helots and Yeomanry).
My Aristo differed from your main character with respect to religion for a number of personal reasons related to his point of view, including witnessing Olynna almost beaten to death and tyrants like Zebed using the doctrine to enforce their draconian power over others, even for something as “heretical” as compassion for the downtrodden.
Unfortunate that I wasn’t able to raise Cosmopolitan higher than 64% (not without going against how I wanted to play the story with my character), but perhaps if I can raise it to 75% in the next book I might get to meet Korszata (unless that opportunity is forever closed off to me).
Is there a way to make Kalt/Kala past the wards with you?
I’ve been madly trying to romance them, hoping I could take them with me and romance them in the next book, but they always reject me when I ask them to go with me.
That is one diversified RO list things are about to get pretty interesting especially if Calea is also in the list
I wonder if she will be available for Aristo MC as well
The list also neglects to mention the noble-only thing for Abelard, unless that’s changed in the interim?
It actually seems like we’ll be meeting most of the potential RO’s throughout this game, excepting the Heir. Although since we seem to meet some only late I think there will be quite a few whose romance may not really take off until game 3.
How old are you? When Havenstone says “when the rest of the games, plural are finished” with an average development time of 7 years till now then that becomes you might get it (in DLC) in about 28 to 30 years.
That said I’d pay for a Ganelon relationship expansion (even if it is still fated to end tragically) too.
Rebels is still a far more complex game. A long development time (7 years was it?) was unfortunately to be expected for a game that held the records for both length and complexity in the publisher’s catalog.
