I AM NOT WORTHLESS
The army that is sent to deal with us is determined by our anarchy, right?
There’s, if I remember rightly, nothing you can do in Uprising with 2 CHA that you can’t do with Breden’s help and any other stat.
The only notable ones I can remember are the Harrowing - where you can punch a bitch, or point out fallacies in the alastor’s argument if you don’t feel like blood magic yet - and Radmar vs Breden, where you can just beat the shit out of Radmar yourself and go back to your dandy ways.
I think it’s also backed up by your reputation with each of the factions.
Well the faction can help us if we’re not on bad terms, helots and yeomanry will keep us updated on the army’s number and get some soldiers sick. Not sure about about the rest since my reputation with them is apparently never good enough.
Ah, I appear to have fundamentally misunderstood the chaos system.
I think it doesn’t matter on your stats it’s based on if you chose to be a noble or helot. And whoever joins will be the opposite sex of Brayden? I can’t remember the name but that’s how you get what you want.
If you’re talking about the character that join after winter it’s Suzzane/Simon and Kala/Karl and appear depend if your anarchy is below or above 21 and the genders are flipped from Breden. Your background isn’t a factor.
If Hallasurq invades once the eastern wards fall, would it be possible for a MC to come to the aid of any Erreziano factions that appear there? Assuming the MC doesn’t absorb Erreza (Errets for all of the homelanders) into our faction and the MC is cosmopolitan.
It’s worth emphasizing that they wouldn’t do this – all but a handful of extremely eccentric Seracca are committed to “retaining the human glories of intellect and conscious self-change.” Also, Abhumans don’t experience eternal pain.
(As a total aside, that does describe the fey in the gameworld of my college D&D campaign: immortals who never forgot anything and whose wounds would stop bleeding but never heal. The Fe Seracca or desert fey turned out to be some of the main antagonists in the back half of that game, once the party had managed to keep the ancient and evil Fe Olosso safely trapped under the ocean. As with so many other things that worked out reasonably well then, I’m recycling names and concepts into XoR… despite the cognitive dissonance this will create for my editor, who played in that campaign.)
Word of St Paul, y’all. It’s in some of what I shared above: “Many Seracca stay roughly human-sized, even if their Gara’u animal is larger or smaller.”
Yes. Game 4, Ch 1, “The Broken Bridge,” will be set largely in Erezza e.g. Moncesano and the Halassurq front, and/or Aveche, and give you a chance to establish or deepen relationships with those factions. The eastern Wards may or may not still be up at that point, depending on some Game 3 choices you make.
Also, the big box of info on them has just opened up and people have started picking it apart, like we do theurgy.
@Laguz: If we’re restricted to mammals, then we can’t have bird circulatory systems. As you know, birds have ridiculously strong hearts, lungs and blood vessels, which allow for long-range flight that would have humans calling hax. These strong hearts allow for wide circulation through huge multi-foot wingspans. Imagine trying to pump blood through giant wings with a human heart - when fighter pilots are already much better-able to take G-forces if they cut off their legs.
So I don’t see a seven-meter wingspan being feasible unless Havenstone wants flying batmen.
From what I gather, they could slowly increase the strength of the heart and and the size with 'blood magic" not sure if that’s right tho.
We are apparently restricted to mammals as a body form - wack, I know - but as Havenstone said, Abhumans pick and choose pieces from non-mammal species to aid in their Changes depending on their role. There’s no reason why they can’t do this here.
As you know, birds have a very fast metabolism owing to this bone stress and increased oxygen uptake. Birds of prey such as hawks must hunt and eat near-constantly to keep the energy they need to fuel their bodies. If they miss a single meal, it often snowballs into starvation. This is the cost of such a “strong” heart.
This cost can be avoided with the help of community, but it isn’t anything like the large amount of food the tiger clans are going to consume.
With minor tweaks, birds are feasible. Or bats. Or whatever. I submitted an idea for crocodile or alligator Abhumans when I first got here. Anything’s possible partly because of the community strength Havie has made a point of emphasising in his lore - it’s just up to Havie’s creative decision.
I can’t see bird clans living anywhere else but the arid plains: they’d be too big to navigate the jungle.
I can see them at the coast.along the seaboard too - the additional food sources of the water (ocean, sea, etc) being able to support them as well.
Oh yeah, I forgot that the federation had ports! Shit. They’d benefit from the work done defending ships from piracy, too, or being pirates. ohgodthisisturningintotellius
Well, I’m increasingly tempted.
- Choice of Rebels: Uprising
- Choice of Rebels: B A T P E O P L E
Also not to add to the already long list of abhuman questions, but are there any Seracca that choose to focus on insect attributes? Quick reflexes, eyes that can see all sides around them and are primed to detect motion, etc?

So, this is the real map of the XoR world, right?
What the fuck!!! What the fuck, Havie! They got you pinned!!!
