I’d say Radmar was maybe 1-1-0 (COM-CHA-INT). He’s not actually much better than a standard outlaw, he’s just big - and as we know, he’s an idiot.
Bjel is actually a better unit commander than Simon/Suzane (who is a master of the art themself), so he or Korszata might well have COM 3. Remember that these are veterans with Karagond training, and Karagond educational programs appear to take people well into the upper stratosphere of what we would call human ability. (By human standards, COM 3 is awe-inspiring. By blademaster standards, Suzane is still a complete rookie.)
This appears to be a world where the definition of “human ability” is a little flexible even without factoring in Theurgy - for example, if you see a heroic type lifting a one-ton stone pillar, they might just be Conan, not a Plektos.
Who do we reckon makes the best deputy when you’re off doing the spoilers at the end of the game? I left Simon in charge because I’d lost Zvad and killed Breden. If he’d still been there I think Zvad would have been the obvious choice, but with him gone I was trying to decide between Korszata, Elery and Simon. I think you’d definitely want to take either Ciels or Simon with you, just because you want someone with reasonable skills at survival in the wilderness.
In my main game, I used Bred as my deputy and leaned on him as much as possible, then purged him because he’s a bad cook. Afterwards, Zvad took over and I took my beloved Suzane with me into Xaos.
I wonder if Zvad is woke now? I choose Elery as the temporary leader while I’m out, and suspect Zvad will keep doing his deputy thing. I like to think he is personally loyal to her and will serve her well. He’s not comfortable at the fore though. Elery other hand will need her own band, and a mission to be happy by the time we get back imo.
No, but he does like being second-in-command and is kind of offended if you put Breden over him - I mean, being third-in-command to a bunch of kids is not his idea of fun, even if he doesn’t like being the big boss man.
It took longer than I’d expected to dig it up, but here’s something I wrote earlier on the game’s “Work in Progress” thread about anarchy:
Hope this explains a bit more of what I was going for with it!
By the way, as I just pointed out over on the Facebook page, today is the last day of the opening-week sale… so if you enjoyed Choice of Rebels, now’s the best time to recommend it to your friends!
I’m not sure if Zvad is really comfortable with the leading position. I see him as more of a sidelines guy, someone on he backstage who has it all figured out. He might grow into his position while the MC is gone, but I’d rather have Korszasta drill some Phalangite disciplines into the outlaws.
Edit: Y’know, @idonotlikeusernames, I’ve been thinking about the time we talked about how I liked the Aristo MC’s relationship with Hector and Calea and I think I need to add the Aristo’s father to the list of things I prefer over the helot path, especially when he confronts the MC on the bonfire later into the game. But I guess that’s more due to personal preference.
Hmmm…in my playthrough were we stand, fight and win Elery and Bjel always seem to die.
My mc wouldn’t go as far as calling Simon that quite yet, I mean he did get burned, badly by the last pretty noble boy he had a crush on. So this is a test to see how loyal and trustworthy Simon truly is.
In that fighting playthrough my mc goes for Korszata.
It is, too bad the Helot mc’s brother is purely background stuff. Still knowing that dear old dad was at the very least bisexual and loved a guy first did break my mc’s heart a bit.
As for that bonfire scene, if my helot mc could see that, he’d think it was an old aristo getting worked up about absolutely nothing.
I think during the winter when speaking with the Captain and Radmar he admitted not knowing what it costs to feed people, lead, inspire etc. And when he was the MC’s age all he could think of was killing. Elery is a natural complement to Zvad’s experience, she has that cautious, tactical mindframe and can bounce ideas and plans off Zvad and his experience.
Oh man that was heart wrenching. Even the people watching seemed taken aback/upset on the Captain’s behalf. And my Captain broke down when he found out his father died whilst the Captain brought a tunnel down on a Plektoi.
I think the best you can do is show a copy of your iTunes receipt to support and ask if they’ll unlock it for you on the site. There’s discussion in this thread about how to view it using Chrome.
So…you can’t create mass anarchy and then use fear of it as your own tool to solidify power and eliminate your fellow rebels (and possible rivals for power)?
