Alas, I can’t give a good guess yet. I want Ch 3 done at the very least.
Alright thanks
Mara, I’ll see about adding dialogue options with Dad.
New page, new link to the game and the draft world map.
Just tried to test out the updated(?) game and got a multitude of ‘script error’ messages. Seemed to be getting the same message with other games I am playtesting. Anyone else having this problem?
Huh – no, I’m not seeing it. Anybody else?
Mine looks good. If your having the same problem with different betas it seems like it’s on your end, though I have no idea what problem is. Sorry man, that stinks.
Best result so far that I have gotten. Nobody hates me too much and I have not found a way of getting more arms than this. Only thing I’m worried about is that high anarchy will come back to bite me when the rest of the game comes out. Also I prefer the noble henchman due to Kalts tendancy to yell thurgy and try to shoot my potential allies but I’m sure Kalt is better than nothing… right?

HELOTS:
You are on the way to becoming a helot folk hero.
ARISTOCRATS:
Most aristocrats abhor your rebellion, but a handful are growing cautiously sympathetic.
PRIESTS:
In public, all Ecclesiasts revile you as a rebel and servant of Xaos. However, you are known to be personally devout, which wins you a small degree of credibility with some in the priesthood.
MERCHANTS:
While most merchants think your rebellion is bad for business, a few of them see opportunities in working with you.
“I’m sure Kalt is better than nothing… right?”
Well, wait til you see him/her in a proper fight, and let me know then.
You’ve managed to keep on everyone’s “good side” notwithstanding your causing lots of anarchy. Yay for being a devout nationalist…
@Havenstone so there would be a way to make I could gain people if raid the taxman? Because with 40 men that’s it no opportunity of doing anything more so no recluit so i would stick 40 men forever? Please let people less 50 gain some men 4 or 5 in a small mission only few lines like you recruit x people in city in relation your stats
I’m personally content with the small numbers allowed. It’s choices and consequences, there is a consequence to the choice of not intervening in the harrowing that you won’t have as many followers initially to go around doing things right away. Havenstone’s already hinted that there will be some benefits to be had with that set-up. Namely, it’s a much more focused core of adults instead of dozens of helot families and their many, many children , there’s probably more flexibility allowed for doing things that irritate helots since there aren’t such a pressing number of them, and everyone’s going to have better equipment, nutrition and so on provided you’re successful at providing for the smaller group than if you had the same success with the larger one.
As for recruiting in the cities, there’s a reason that the main character and company is sticking in the woods, and it’s not because they like camping.
Yes, but i couldn’t win a battle with the 40 thieves of the tale lol. I could make a mission only with 40 so i miss 3/4 of game i have to access any special text for few slaves . No you choice this deal with it your game options get drop to zero
I’m having trouble seeing how a band of over 200 that’s mostly children, more starving/sick and less well armed will do any better against any phalangites or plektoi dispatched to the area? At any rate, the more limited options for raiding make it less likely to be enough of a pressing threat to draw the Thaumatarchy’s attention for immediate destruction. Greater military force is to come later in the series, you’re not going to have enough of a military force at this point to win any battle except with the poorly organized police force, and even then such fights can be lost if you’re not skilled enough/make bad decisions.
You are aware that these few chapters aren’t going to be the whole of the game, yes? You’ll hardly be missing the bulk of the game when it’s complete by going down this option. Missing some raids in the beginning opens up other choices and options later on in the game. Disparaging the path just because you can’t see what’s at the end of it seems a little short-sighted.
Im sure the devout and the nationalism will bite me in the butt latter too but both have served me well in the short term.
@poison_mara There is at least one mission where you can increase your followers. Choose to rob some local nobles and their servants will have no choice but to follow you. If you want to avoid the aristocracy hating you just let the nobles live. This will make your followers unhappy and decrease your reputation with the helots but judging from earlier posts you aren’t too concerned about that
I’m a bit confused by that mission, looking over it I don’t think there’s any penalty to the noble opinion of you provided that you go with the most lenient possible option in your victory.
The people who join you are, of course, really old/feeble helots who will probably not be much good for fighting your battles.
Divine No, I don’t raid people I’m a charismatic leader with zero combat. So raid is a really bad idea for me. Golgot you maybe are right, but I have a horrible vision of I never could win anything due my option of don’t stop harrowing game seem so focused on gain people, that feels wrong have less people children could do missions after also text feels like point me with a finger saying you loser you can’t do nothing go home buuu :-q but I’m really paranoid :((
@Golgot The penalties are slight morale drop and slight drop in how much helots like you if you let the nobles live. Also like you mentioned some of the helots that join you (potentially) are not fit for missions, though some are. So it really depends who you need to build rep with. I personally dont mind doing things that piss off helots as their loyalty is easy to buy when springtime comes. Expensive, but easy
You can actually do it very successfully provided that you make the right decisions, regardless of whether or not you have combat strength. If you aren’t too strong, let others take the lead and be really charismatic to pump up the fighters in front of you… or alternatively go for the magic, I guess.
But I can’t buy money due no missions , missions are based of your global people not in soldiers percentage so you are sending babies to missions or at least was that way last time i play freedom people months ago. No no raid nobles!!! I have moral and respect to my chaste im not a commoner outlaw, so no raids gor ultra noble Mara she is also going less anarchy possible path too due roleplay.
You get plenty of money to make them happy with the tax collector mission, since most of it isn’t going to feed so many extra mouths. Remember that when gifting the helots that repeated gifts of 40 or less work out better than larger sums at once.
If your goal is to survive I have a feeling you two are right in that it would be easier with less followers but my characters personality is more the ‘go big or go home’ type. The way he sees it more soldiers sent after his band to fight on his turf means less soldiers elsewhere doing the bad guys dirty work.
