@Havenstone Jolly good.
*Sharpens stick*
@Havenstone “I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.” - Douglas Adams
@FortunesFaded, one of my longtime favorite life mottos!
I don’t mean to downplay the motivational potential of a real deadline - I wrote 20% of my book in the two weeks before the publisher’s deadline (the final one, which - as I’m not quite as popular as Douglas Adams - could not be allowed to whoosh by). It’s just my self-imposed ones which end up being honored in the breach.
@Beez: I said beat, not impale.
Once you have overthrown the ruling class, can you use a guillotine?
Now now, @Pepper; What goes around, comes around.
Not if there is no one left with ambition just sheep baaaa!
There will be a hero. When face with tyranny what did you do? You started a rebellion that topple the last empire. Plenty will want to follow in your shoes, toppling you
Well wasn’t the guillotine supposed to be a humane form of execution? It can certainly be argued as more humane than electrocution, hanging, and various other less notorious methods of execution. Also, can’t wait for the updates.
Well like all good tyrant control the masses by giving them bread ( not cake), while alienating or killing the elite and at times the middle class. Of course, we use the most humane way of killing our opponents after a “fair” trial by our best demagouges
guillotine wasn’t humanitarian lol. they cut your head off and put it in lances, and you end eat by rats and ravens
Whoops - I accidentally updated the startup.txt with my shortcut file. “Are you male?” etc. Will fix that when I’m back at a laptop.
Guillotine was, for the time period, considered more humane in that it usually beheaded in one swoop, whereas an executioner’s axe may take two or three strokes to fully seperate the head, and with hanging it may take a few seconds to die.
Gas chamber, electrocution then lethal injection are all alleged ways to be more humane.
All true - that’s why I said ‘for the time period’ and by that I was thinking 18th Century, although I don’t think that’s an exact translation to the game due to the implementation of magic. Still I’m pretty sure they don’t have gas chambers or electric chairs here… Then again…
Magically driven electricity? O.o?
@Pepper The walls of Nazi gas chambers were covered in scratch marks from people trying to claw their way out in a panic.
Gas and lethal injection=poison especially those that put you to sleep almost instantly. As long as they look peaceful when they die. Unlike other ways like the Harrowing, its quite obvious most victims will look in extreme pain or agony.
Gas didn’t put people to sleep almost instantly.
I believe a lethal injection works much father than the gas chambers did, and is painless. Not to mention, inhaling gas will cause panic even if it’s a harmless sleeping gas, so I highly doubt people who dies by inhaling gases of any form die looking peacful.
In any case, what is considered humane changes with the time, as morals do.
Let’s not go any further into this, unless Havenstone introduces a scene that asks the PC’s preferred method of, ahem, disposal.
