I love you H.S. Thank you
- Yes if their nomads they probably have recurved bows to use in conjunction with cavalry archers.
2.Yes and no they would probably have crossbows but I believe they would really look like this or at the very least called like this by the karagonians at least : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastraphetes
3.Probably? I am not well versed with ancient Chinese combat tactics and strategies.
4.Ah I have talked about this with @Havenstone black powder weapons actually would rather be hard to use but I have thought a way they can be used “Landmines” put a barrel underground where a theurge doesn’t know where it and when a phalanx passes over it kaboom! What your opinion on this @Havenstone
-
Slings eh…Their not a very effective weapon you know that right?
-
Still slings stopped getting used by people as a weapon for a reason…Might as well say that auxiliary forces are armed with crossbows thats much more possible.
7.Okay we are getting in steampunk territory here,
8.Yes in this you would be correct.
You’ve made good progress Havenstone, i’m optimistic that this new year will bring you better fortunes. And btw, did you change some of your existing writing? It feels like i’m seeing a new page or two.
Edit: Ho ho ho. I’m getting quite a few variable errors.
Here’s a link example
OK – hoping I’ve fixed the problems mentioned so far…
I find it funny that I made atheism a religion.
Hi, long time lurker-slash-fan here. There’s an error when deciding to meet Hector and right after talking to your guests. Possible spoilers below; iOS does not allow copying and pasting of text from notifications. Can’t wait to try out what comes out next year. May the Year of the Sheep bring good fortune!
Thanks Pocky! I’ve fixed the bugs (I think) and removed the images for spoiler protection. Keep 'em coming…
how manny games do you plan for this series?
Wait how do you make bleys follow you?
Five.
And Player: the key to get Bleys to join you is to make the necessary sacrifice to keep him alive. You’ll also need to play the only path that has you interacting with him. And as with all the Bleys options, you can’t succeed with Int 0.
What necessary sacrifice?
Give it a try and see if you can figure it out. (:
Thanks for the update, @Havenstone. I’ll definitely be buying a copy of this once it’s released.
I’m now getting an error (bandits2 line 840: Non-existent variable ‘wiend’) when I try to pay someone to train my rebels in combat.
Ah, yes. For example, the error that @Protagonist just pointed out (thanks!) came from some text I added to Sybla’s scene in Ch 2. (Just two old friends having a chat, nothing to be concerned about, naturally.) I also streamlined the Carles prologue very slightly. And probably some other small changes I’ve forgotten I made – let me know what you stumble across.
I am off to play the same scene…a dozen times.
Dear God, this update was worth the wait.
By the way @Havenstone what did you think of mine and @WulfyK suggestions?
Also I figured it out.
Awww. (: Thanks.
Really enjoying them – and as Wulfy suggested, I’d like to see if they spark more ideas from the rest of the historical/tactical brain trust before committing to any specific combo. Hope the update doesn’t completely overwhelm that conversation!
I won’t have time to play until after the New Year. Congrats on actually sharing this with us though.
I liked Uprising. It felt more powerful to me. Uprising feels like the story of the rebellion itself. That the rebellion is bigger than we are. It’s Choice of Rebels, not Choice of The Rebel and rightly so.
I’m not as fond of Outlaw because it gives me different preconceived notions of what the game is about. Outlaw’s not what the rebels would call us, it’s not our status with them, it’s instead letting us be defined by the established order. It’s letting that established order name us, to control our story. We’re only outlaws to them. To the people we’re fighting with and for and leading we’re likely freedom fighters. Words are powerful, what we call ourself is important.
I don’t like the Robin Hood comparisons either. I don’t think I ever felt really like an outlaw as such while playing the game, the laws were the least of our concerns, and I did my very best to behave in a moral and ethical manner.
Update was wonderful Havenstone greatly enjoyed it. I’m gonna agree with Fairy about disliking outlaw as the subtitle. I think a different title that still refers to us could be good.
I didn’t have any errors or bugs, but have you adjusted any of stats from Chapter 2 like notoriety, the differnt leader values, or the results of the raids?
In regards to my earlier comment about more player choice the unfinshed section with Hector’s hunting party has the sort of choices I was asking about. Less about grand strategy of feeding the people, but more involved in the execution of the plan.
And I’d hate to complain about the cliffhanger in the middle of that given the update… but I don’t have much else to offer to the discussion besides compliments, so I think I’ll just complain instead.
