Asteroid Run: No Questions Asked is by the awesome writer (and awesome human) Fay Ikin, who wrote Heart of Battle for Heart’s Choice. I will read anything she writes. I wrote an extensive review of this one for ChoiceBeat, which you can find here: ChoiceBeat #8 – ChoiceBeat Zine
Bootlegger: Moonshine Empire is one that has a special place in my heart, as I poured a lot of time into it as an alpha and beta tester, and I got to watch it grow from a strong premise to a well-constructed story of challenge, corruption, and compromise. The dialogue is some of the most crackling and memorable you’ll find in any ChoiceScript game.
Cliffhanger: Challenger of Tomorrow is a game that’s too often misunderstood. It’s written deliberately in the style of old-timey radio and film serials: fast-paced, action-packed, and generally over the top. There’s not much downtime, interiority, or focus on interpersonal relationships, not because the author isn’t skilled in pacing or character development (as evidenced by his masterful work in The Beast of Glenkildove), but as a stylistic consequence of this pasticherie. It’s not a personal favorite, but it’s a whole lot of fun. You can read my review on Reddit: Reddit - Please wait for verification
Asteroid run lets goooooo, my favorite book of all time. Highly recommend, great world building, expanse flavor, such a good read overall. Really great detailed side characters too. One of the few that also actually has them take the imitative with romance which is a surprising rarity and a nice little bonus too.
