If we go by mythology alone, all of the most notable gods would be horrifying figures. Persephone was Hades’ pubescent(unwilling) niece, Poseidon raped Medusa (for which Athena then blamed the victim), and so on. We don’t need to assume that Hephaestus was actually punted off.
Besides, Hephaestus is not described as particularly deformed in ‘Children of the Gods,’ IIRC.
To be fair, the gods can alter their bodies into the most appealing figures imaginable. If Hepheaestus wanted to, he could probably make himself look more attractive. If not, maybe the Olympian standards of beauty are a bit more skewed, with average looking being considered ugly by their standards.
Same here. Hades was more of a fatherly figure to Nyx. She wants him to be her father. Because her early childhood memories involved him and Athena. And Zeus? She’s only heard the horrendous myths and stories about his problem with keeping it in his pants. My MC doesn’t even see Saint as her brother, and she pity him. And she pity herself for not being able to play along with his expectations.
Saint honestly confuses me a bit. Partially because I don’t feel like he’s being used enough in the script. He doesn’t feel like a brother to my bearers. He’s just kind of…there.
