Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Oh my bad. But yeah on my Hades save(when I can get it), consider him a brother just cause we share the same father even though we don’t technically share DNA. But again my bad. Hope I’d didn’t offend you in any way.

Oh really? So when we take his portion of the essence, he dies? Is that right?

Huh? No. I was responding to @gia. You have every right to your opinion. Gia was asking why our godly powers never manifested.

Re: him dying - I believe this was confirmes by @Rohie. If not, it is a valid assumption, based purely upon events that transpired in the Trojan War, as well as context clues within the game and the History of the Essence bit in the stats screen.

Oh ok then. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Edit: yeah but if he does when we get the power, wouldn’t we also die since he is tied to us? Personally I think it’s like this: when we get the power, Aeson can use his source power from Hades but not his essence abilities. When we receive the full power of the essence, we still live but eventually die due to the stress of all that power unless we got immortality before we die. This could also be completely wrong since @Rohie is working on a rewrite.

I’m honestly surprised how talkative the the forum is right now.

…Then again, I imagine that anyone who is currently experiencing finals is 1) mainly focused on passing their classes and 2) thinking of burning the school papers they know they’re not going to use in a fire pit and proceeding to make smores with the flames.

Hehehehe that 2nd is me at this time. But the snores are made from my tears.

I already have enough tears of exhaustion involved in my papers. I don’t need them soggy-ing up the only hope I have left for this Semester’s end.

That said, I too will be having plenty of snores once Friday comes.

O.K, yes! But tht’s not wht I was asking.
Without the Bestower’s half of the soul, they die, giving the Bearer the full soul. The Bearer might last a few years, but their body can’t handle the power.
I don’t think so, seeing as Rohie mentioned tht if the Bestower were to die, the Bearer would die too + she said tht when Aeson loses his bit of the Essence, he’ll still be prince of the underworld, which means he’ll still be alive. I’m pretty sure if either party dies after the transfer the other does too. It’s not like you’re only bound till the transfer, right?
You will never manifest that power, because you become a being of incomprehensible power. Piddly demigod powers mean nothing to you.
I know. It’s not a matter of power, or the powers in and of themselves. I want to know why we never manifested any godly powers as children. It doesn’t matter if they’re ‘weak’ or ‘strong’ @ all, just tht they’re there. The Essence doesn’t negate the existence of your godly powers.

She’s crushing on Athena/Aunt Alice but err… Yeah, I don’t think that’s gonna happen so Sage it is

I should be studying for my college transfer exam (I have to take a test to be able to switch :expressionless:) but at this point it’s either a lost cause or I’m gonna pass with flying colors

How did Nyx go from crushing on a woman who is known to often be more coolheaded (most of the time) and possesses a acute tactical mind, to crushing on a young girl whose temper flares at the drop of a hat and has the tactical expertise of a person with a hammer who views every issue as though it was a nail?

I feel the same way about my Math and Science classes. I’m just taking a break for a while before my brain proceeds to get crushed by the Earth’s atmosphere and graphs. :expressionless:

Yes, it does, which is explained in-game.

Wht are you responding to? The idea tht you’re only bound till the transfer, or tht your godly powers are negated by the essence? Just because you’re the Bearer doesn’t mean tht you’re no longer a demigod, with godly powers. Sure, they might not mean shit after the transfer, repositories of unimaginable power tht we are, but they still exist.

They’re both trouble :relieved:.
(Also Athena’s kind of our “sister” if daddy is Zeus? Unless of course her being born out of his head negates any familial bonds, then it’s A-okay :ok_hand:)

They never meant anything. Your innate power even before the transfer was already leagues ahead of that of a simple demigod. You just never manifested even those because of the dampener they put on you.
(As far as I’m aware)

If we go by that train of thought, then Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Hephaestus, Ares, and Dionysus are also your sort-of siblings (guy pretty much made half of the Gods of Olympus from his affairs).

…and Hera is your sort-of stepmother…:anguished:

My best guess is that, at least from my perspective, Avery might seem a little too enthusiastic about being on Olympus for someone who isn’t a Demigod. I wouldn’t be shocked if there was some jealousy playing into her feelings (living where she did on Earth while knowing about Olympus, not having a godly parent/not quite having those special abilities, and probably just wanting to fit in).

Oh, and, for those going through it, good luck with finals.

Here’s hoping she won’t try to kill me with centaur blood and wind up killing my wife instead :unamused:

The day that Hera doesn’t antagonize on of Zeus’ children (especially if they are a Hero of some kind) is the day Uncle Henry goes ice skating to work.
