Thanks! I aim to please! ^^
I have just implemented a list of suggested names for y’all! I hope this helps~ It’s kind of small and I just made them all up on the spot, but if you guys think of any good ones feel free to send them and I’ll see about adding some more!
You need to capitalize the pronoun of your sibling after you select his/her gender.
Choicescript wiki
Capitalization
If we want to make sure that the first_name variable is always displayed with a capital letter, we can add an exclamation mark just after the dollar $ symbol but before the curly braces, like so:
Hello, $!{first_name}!
Which would then properly display as:
Hello, Alex!
We can also capitalize the entire content of a stringvariable, using two exclamation marks, as follows:
Hello, $!!{first_name}!
Which would display as:
Hello, ALEX!
Thank you! That should be fixed now!
Definitely need more to form a more solid opinion the only thing I really can really say is I wasn’t expecting the coach to be a romantic interest and I am here for it kinda reminds me of Make it or break it and the crush Payton I believe her name was had on her coach but it seems like something can actually happen here. Can I ask you why it’s gender locked?
Well, there is a two-tiered answer to that. I am a woman, and I feel like I can write that perspective really well, especially if I can focus on that perspective. It’s my first ever COG and first ever original story I’m writing. I want to do it well, and to focus in on the variety of things you can do and say about your MC by having a lot of customization options. However, that’s going to make it really difficult for me to keep up with the workload. I also have a lot of things I want to touch on in this story, specifically on the female side of figure skating, and I don’t want the male players to feel like they are missing out on that, or have a lesser version of a story because they played as a different gender, Someday, maybe I will write a cog that I feel confident in having a gender selection for the mc, but for this game, I think it is best to have a genderlocked mc. Thank you so much for your question! I’m glad you like the coach romance too, I definitely had some inspiration from movies I grew up with and make it or break it was one of them. ^^ I also really loved ice princess with the girl from buffy the vampire slayer. Thanks again!
The prologue is almost finished! I added a bit of story and fleshed out your mom’s character! You make it home and have one foot in the bed!
I did update the demo too! This update includes:
- Customize! Choose your hair length, hair color, and eye color!
- Stats! There’s a stats page now!
- Hidden variables! You can’t see them!
I get that I write and I don’t feel comfortable writing from a male perspective either.
That is very good to hear. I only play female characters unless a game forces me to play male.
Okay! Both of those errors should be fixed now! Thank you so much for bringing them to my attention!
Sometimes I can write from a male’s perspective, but only in short bursts. I don’t feel confident that I could make reasonable motives or reasoning as well as believable internal dialogues. I don’t feel like I could keep it up for a whole book! ^^’
hehe, me too. I’m a darn sucker for romance, also!
OK! I should have that fixed now. Feel free to play on! Thank you, all of you, for the shared bug reports. I’m always happy to fix them up!
Alright! I uploaded the files for the finished prologue just now. I’m doing a lot of research, which takes time, but trying to intersperse it with writing chapter 1 as I go. Hope you all enjoy!
prologue line 340: Non-existent variable ‘sarcastic’
If you haven’t tried out Quicktest, I recommend doing so now.
How did you know I’ve been playing through it compulsively to find all the errors? Oops, okay time to figure out quick test! Thanks so much for the advice, my friend!
