Hi all, just out of curiosity, I’ve seen beta tests go out on the forums. Do these only happen for the official COG games or for the hosted games as well?
It does not matter whether your game Will be published under the CoG or Hosted Games label as all games that are posted on the forum can be beta tested.

When you hear CoG asking for beta testers it’s for a closed beta test and there are rules that need to be followed. Most Hosted Games authors tend to post links direct in the forum and this is an open beta test Again there are rules but these are harder to enforce than a closed one.
