At a stage where this is becoming an issue - do you think that the MC’s personality in the past should be assumed to be their personality in the present? Or would you prefer to be able to choose options different to the established past personality? Like, past!MC might have been cruel and disdainful but you could choose that present!MC wants to be kind and help people?

Personally, I want past! and present!MC to have the same personality. Especially since the Stranger tell us “…you’re not yourself enough yet for you to feel like they’re your own memories.” and “…if you act differently than you really did in the past you start to lose connection with the memory and it turns into a mess…” The Stranger tell us this right after our first attempt to use the well. It seems more consistent with what we know at this point to keep our personality the same. Though, if you wanted to, you could offer us the opportunity to make our past personality different and people who don’t want to won’t choose it.

It is in human nature to change, despite the proverb claiming the contrary. Without it, would we never be anything but children. 
So, to phrase it differently, I’d like the chance to change - without ending up a mess.

That is true! Though I don’t think people typically go from being cruel and disdainful to kind and helpful or vice versa without something drastic happening (but losing all your memories and ‘dying’ probably count as something drastic). As long as being different isn’t forced on is, I think it would be fairly easy to keep both sides happy if Scribblesome decides to go that route.

I was actually considering making it so that changing in personality makes it harder to relive your memories, in the sense of ‘you’re not the person you used to be’ , but that might be making things too complicated for myself.

Update! You’ve been delving into the past, but what’s happening in the present?
(notes: I’m still not 100% happy with how this part is going, so it may be subject to changes in the future. The new characters especially got a much larger role than I was expecting! There’s a few options which are unavailable due to not being written yet, but only one or two. And there’s also been a few things added to the conversation with Stranger in chapter 4.)

EDIT: and the new stuff is interesting. The last page is a bit unclear though for who is saying what to whom, though since only the three seemed to be present… I’m assuming Cren is the stranger?

There’s a slash ( / ) in there instead of full stop, I would guess.

I may have to rewrite the last bit for clarity, then. Cren’s just Cren; it goes from Aden/Malina talking in your dream to Cren and Mara talking about you in the present
Well I theorize that the Stranger (warning for potential epileptic trees theory) is our, with magic upgraded, pet. We had striking few mentions of them, the stranger is not human, but we also don’t recognize their species. They shapeshift into animals. Their hesitation when we ask them if they are a friend comes from the fact that they still are more in the owner/pet mentality when it comes to us. Also the reason they are no romance option and their open disgust at us flirting with them…what also means that you gave us the option to hit on our pet. 
I think if I were right you should feel bad…or at least laugh in your sleeve…

weeeeell… you’re not right, but perhaps you’re not completely thinking along the wrong lines. I will say that we haven’t seen Stranger in the past yet, except for that dream.
Anyone have any theories about what’s happening in the present, by the way?

Will I be able to resist the urge to make Mara and Cren LIs? Probably not. Am I dooming myself to having to write a very awkward confrontation between your past LI and your present one? Quite possibly.

Threesome would probably be difficult considering most of the LIs wouldn’t get along. You’ll have to fall back on the ‘but honey I didn’t remember who you were!’ excuse
