Are you working on a game in ChoiceScript? Let us know!

I’m working on “Welcome to the Death March”. It’s a about a software developer trying to survive a software project going very, very wrong.

This is my first attempt with Choice Of; expect to have a functional end-to-end, but with skeleton text only, by sometime in February.

Hi,

Giving you a heads up here. I’m working on a game called Madrid Zombie, which I plan to send your way in the next couple of months. So far, the game is at 24.000 words.

I e-mailed you a few months ago just make sure there wouldn’t be a problem with publishing a game entirely in Spanish, and I’ve been working on it since you replied that it could be published.

So that’s it. Thank you for making Choicescript available for folks like me, it’s being quite the adventure!

Bruno

Hey All,

(First time posting and it’s a game announcement. I know, I know…)

We’re working on a Choice-script Game series set in our game-world of Aerath. This existing R.P.G. style world is huge and growing ever larger as we write. We are committed to telling a story that has many, many variables. However, it will also maintain a cohesive narrative for any combination of choices.

Completed progress for ACT 1 - Treason on the Border (Game 1) is at around 25-30% and we will be releasing a Drop-box Alpha for play-testing with further content in early (hopefully very early) February. In the meantime please feel free to check out the small (but growing) amount of information we’ve posted on our Facebook Dev. Page - Facebook and leave us a comment or ask a question if you want.

“Likes” are much appreciated too.

Thanks,

Khaz.

Like Khaz I’m doing the “first time posting and it’s a game announcement” thing too

My work in progress is called “When in Rome.” Orphaned and poor and on your own in ancient Rome, you make allies and patrons, claw your way up through the social classes, and (possibly) change the course of history. You have several choices for the sort of life you’ll lead (scribe? slave dealer? courtesan? dirty street poet?). Even a lowly plebeian can end up in the middle of a plot against the emperor…but it’s going to have to be without an army, senatorial power, or heaps of gold. The more focused you are on a specific goal—wealth and power, or glory, or love—the better the chance of achieving it (and not getting your friends killed off along the way).

It’s about 75% written. It’s playable to a point, but not through the Final Big Event. It’s 80,000 words at this point, but it branches a lot, so it can be a short or medium-length game. Of the various ideas and drafts I’ve been kicking around, this might not be the one most people would jump on to play, but I love an ancient-world setting so it’s a fun one for me to learn ChoiceScript with. As soon as I have a version-in-progress I’m not too nervous to share, I’ll post a link.

This story guarantees at least one stabbing in the Coliseum, lamps in naughty shapes, a discontent volcano, a troupe of nose-flute players, as many gods as you could ever possibly need, one obliquely observed orgy, and an extremely unpredictable emperor.

Hello everyone! I’m here to post about my 95% completed game, ‘The GameMaster’!

“A cool summer’s storm – the perfect backdrop for a table top RPG with your friends Erica, Jackie, Terrence, and Zach! Play as a group of gamers, and immerse yourself in the world of the GameMaster. Your choices shall define you and your teammates as you journey through this strange and dangerous world, full of swordplay, spells, and dark magic! But can you get out alive?”

It’s a story within a story, about a group of friends playing a tabletop RPG. I actually designed this as for my Senior Design Project for school, as part of my Game Writing thematic sequence. :>

I’m not sure about all the ins and outs of hosting my game (although it runs error-free on my computer and my beta-testers, so that’s a plus?) and I have to give Jason a MASSIVE apology for the enormous headache I’m sure I put him through trying to send him the hosted game without looking at the ‘New to Choice of Games’ thread (so sorry!). Going to try to do things the correct way now, and go through all the necessary channels

@Yirby
Sounds awesome:)

OK, time to be brave–alpha version of the When In Rome WIP is here:

and forum thread here:

I’ll be tinkering with it over the weekend, but will try to show some restraint and only post updates in chunks so it doesn’t keep disrupting anyone who’s taking a look at it

I’m working on a superhero community college story. Chapter 1 (of probably 8 total) is up for comments, suggestions, etc. I’m trying to balance the somewhat light tone of the school with a real sense of danger when the villains show up.

So, I have been working for some time now on a massive COG game. Its set in a fictional world that is akin to an ancient greece mashed in with elements of arthurian legends. Its pretty large, at about 850,000 words right now, and am only about 1/4 of the way done. I have been doing my best to create this game in a way that the character has choice, and is not restricted too much by previous choices. This does not mean that you can do anything without consequence, as most choices that you can make will end up affecting what is available to you later on. You can play as either gender, and can choose what region of the world you hail from, each region specializing in certain skills. I tried to mimic something like the Mass Effect game choice system in dialogs, meaning that if you really hate that guy, you CAN hit him, just be aware of the consequences. You can interrupt others, be brash, or you can be as benevolent as you like. This game will take you through several plot lines over the course of several playthroughs, all depending on the variance in your choices. I plan to release a demo in a few weeks, and start a thread on the forums. Opinions would be welcome, Ideas even more so.

You should find a place to make a first volume and send it to us for publication. No point in putting so much effort into a game that never gets finished. And having a game out with people pestering you for the sequel will help encourage you to finish.

Can I suggest we move anything that isn’t an announcement of a new game to a new thread? This one works best as a noticeboard.

I know there are villian stories and couple mob ones in works. Im setting up drafts of someone running a gang. Im leaving it open as far as sex so that male or female can control the gang openly. Build a gang and control how they will do things. Outlining the progress right now as well as know four scenes already.

Editing: will have to still see how to script but having the layout I feel is important. I will look information up as I been reading these forums for awhile just first month talking in them.

I am working on a medieval fantasy/sci-fi game, no official title atm. The reader plays as a young thief who has been caught stealing. It is a mature/adult read, so this is not going to be suitable for younger audiences. The majority of the story has been written already, but certain gameplay/choices have to still be planned out.

Expect me to create a thread regarding this in May or June. For those who want to see the story or to see the game as I build it, send me a pm. I expect the game to be done this year some time, but don’t quote me on that.

I’m working on a post apocalyptic game called “Wasted!” The start of the game is prior to Earth being turned into a horrid wasteland, and actually centers on the MC who is on Saturn’s moon, Titan. The MC will be able to make various choices as to their role as a colonist on the moon (through some preset templates and background along with the option to create their own character), and then prepare for their voyage home.

However their voyage home doesn’t turn out to be quite right as they wake up from cryosleep and discover that Earth is no longer what it used to be…or as we say in France, “Oh dear, Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore!” I’m actually a big fat liar. I’m not really French.

Anyhoo…my game is pretty writing intensive and my desire for creating choices out of lots of things along with hidden things is causing my demo to take a bit, but it is a work in progress. I’m hoping to get the demo out soon where players can get into the background of the game and play a little in the first chapter.

I’m planning on having various fractions in the game. Plenty of things to kill. Plenty of frustrating arguments with the narrator. A couple different romantic interests, and the start of what I hope will be a stronghold to gain and protect by the end of the game.

My apocalypse is going to be similar to settings like the Fallout and Wasteland universes, but also Mad Max, The Terminator, and Planet of the Apes. I’m borrowing from a lot of science fiction elements. The player will start to see a variety of horrible things happening to the surviving humanity. Racism will be an issue (man vs mutant for instance), plagues will be a silent killer, radiation, diabolical A.I.s, and various other things that will pose a threat to the MC and his/her group of survivalist buddies that he/she picks up.

It’s a pretty ambitious title, and I suspect the first game is going to set up a lot of those things. One thing to keep in mind is that certain things might be more of a situation based on a certain preset characteristic. For instance if the character has a medical background, it will be more likely that their story will focus heavily on what is causing the plagues that are happening post-holocaust. Whereas an engineering background might start focusing on a separate situation and might encounter more of a threat with various artificial A.I.s

My plan is having the Introduction for a more glorified character creation. Chapter One will set up the world and lay out the problems that are going to be solved in Chapter 3. Chapter 2 will be various issues posed by both the linear story and also the character’s unique background situations which lead all characters into Chapter 3. That’s going to be one of those crazy battles where your decisions and choices will culminate into various endings.

I’m going to offer achievements and the like, but I think achievements are mainly going to be used for humor. I mean you might feel rewarded and that’s nice and all, but you know…

I’m working on a journal on here in order to inform how the game is going. I haven’t updated it in awhile due to having a rather busy schedule, but it’s moving along. I’m trying to smooth things out as I go from the beginning and I’m kind of learning ChoiceScript as well. It’s pretty entertaining.

You won’t see a WIP topic from me until I have something that people can actually play through and see what I’m getting at. I’m having a blast though so hopefully should you get to play it you will too.

I’m currently working on an RPG game in Choice Script. The game is designed to play just like a tabletop RPG game would normally be played. The differences being that the options you have are limited (no covering NPC with honey to see if he will attract bees), and that it will be a solo game.

I plan to make the game ongoing, so if you want to just go around battling monsters, you can do that. If you want that epic piece of loot you’ve always wanted, you can keep searching.

I am keeping it to core gameplay for now, but plan to expand the story after the first episode is complete. Additional gameplay will be in the form of more areas, monsters, loot, and possibly even a crafting system. It seems complex, and perhaps it isn’t something people will want to play, but I would love to play it, which is why I’m going to make it.

It is in its infancy, so any demos will be months away. So far, the character is able to pick his/her class (with natural attributes for each), and then roll for stats. The rest is still waiting to be born.

If you like the idea, let me know. If you think it’s a horrible waste of time, let me know.

I haven’t quite decided the setting this RPG will take place. I like the old medieval type RPG games, but those have been overdone, so I may take it to a level outside of anything mainstream.

I do urge CoG to allow for paid ‘expansion’ packs to these games as this will draw a lot of income to well-written stories/games. When someone likes the original, they are more likely to pay for an expansion rather than pay for its original form (at least I know I would be).

So yeah, some feedback would be great. It’s a lot of coding, but once the structure is complete, the rest will simply fly from my fingertips.

I’ve finished writing Judgement of the Fallen - book two of Demons Among Men, and have begun the beta testing. I hope to submit it to CoG in about a month. The link can be found here:

I’m currently working on a Sci-Fi game titled “The Betrayed” in which you play the role of a man/woman who travels throughout a foreign planet in search for the Atlas, an entity that maintains the balance of the planet and everything on it, but is also capable of self destructing and possibly killing the planet itself.

I’m almost done with the first chapter and should be posting a beta quite soon. It’s a pretty big project, so I won’t be finished with it anytime soon. I’m not really sure when I’ll be contacting CoG to host this game, but I know it won’t be soon considering I’m under the age of 18. But until then, I’ll be working long and hard on my story and will hopefully bring a lot to the table.

I’m working on a game called “Ironheart” in which you are kidnapped from Earth to a parallel dimension to be a slave. Through a series of extraordinary circumstances, you rise to become the Master of a guild that will could potentialy be known throughout the Multi-verse. Complete quest, make friends, and hopefully defeat your enemies in this story of a lowly human becoming more than what was decided for him/her. The first part has you chronicling your guild’s creation and rise to power your scribe, on the eve of a monumental battle.

I have read quite a few of the games here and decided that creating one would be the perfect outlet for a story that has been haunting me for ages. But I want this to stand out from the pack. I want people to walk away from this and say “That was awesome”. So I’ve been on the forums and read up on what people with similar tastes wanted from these games. I looked over dozens of threads and was surprised to see that many opinions mirrored my own. I knew then that my vision could be a welcome addition to the bountiful collection that CoG has to offer.

I’m a sucker for romances you see. But despite the vast collection of games with romance options, very few plucked the heart strings as I’d hoped. So I proposed this: I create a game were who you meet or who you woo drastically changes the story. Wrap that up in a world swords, magic, and mystery gives a recipe for something that could be extremely engaging.

I’ve already have a couple of chapters written, and it is my sincere hope that I’ll have a tantalizing demo ready before the end of June. If you have questions/advice about the story or game mechanics feel free message me.

Good day my dear developers and writers! I’m working on my very first game and although it’s not as “epic” as most of the gems here, I hope that it’ll certainly be very memorable.

In “Burst forth!” you will start as a seed that will burst forth out of the ground, growing, trying to survive and adapt in your immediate surrounding, evolving, mutating, and coping up with other plants beside you.

Every decision that you make as a plant would affect your biotic stats, but will not immediately take effect yet. Every Spring your plant would drop a new seed carrying the new traits, and that ‘new’ plant will be the one that would sport the mutations and grow the new ‘parts’ your parent plant didn’t have.

You can have deeper roots, thicker stalks, big shiny leaves, and extravagant flowers. You can grow thorns, pungent smells, a hard bark, and a poisonous sap. You will interact with other plants, visiting animals, the weather, the soil, sudden calamities, and maybe some humans!

In the end, you might be able to grow into a Sacred World Tree, providing bountiful blessings and worshiped by everyone… Or be a Planet-Devouring Menace that chokes the very life out of the planet.

I’m still learning how to code using ChoiceOfScript though. It seems simple enough, so I hope I could create this game quick. I’m excited with all the ideas that keep on popping into my head. This is going to be fun!

Greetings, guys! My name is Ivailo and I am going to be a part of the Hosted Games ‘family’ since my gamebook Path of Light is pending release to the iOs app store. It is a story about a fantasy priest who is involved into a dangerous journey into the Abyss together with a slightly devilish Sister.

What I am writing now is a gamebook called Path of the Rogue which is set in the same world. The protagonist has a collar around their neck sucking in the energy from magically infused artifacts (or their own, if there is no such an item in range when the choker needs to eat. My current progress is around 10 000 words so I am still in the beginning.
