I wonder if we can ally with some werewolf if our priority is the survival of humans( IE if we are humane) Since as OP said WW and V are not necesarrily in conflict. and WW are more of humans protectors.
Could I charm or talk zombies to go back to their grave just by sexy, subtle, and, mesmerizing character!?
By the way, @rinari’s WIPs always amazing as usual, I look forward to romancing Claire, Casey, and Valorie.
This joke makes me wonder, are the zombies actual “walking dead” or like, diseased living humans? It’d be a bit ironic if the zombies were undead when the vampires aren’t.
I feel like this is zombie exodus on supernatural steroids. I love it.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what else happens in the story and when I saw I could name myself Dante and the hunter I had to just to fill the dmc void in my life right now
Thank you! I’m glad you picked up on that element haha: vampires as figures of desire is something I’ve studied/written about a lot, so I wanted that (potential) sexiness to be in the game if I could pull it off! ![]()
You will get the choice to choose whether you were turned in the 1700s, 1800s, or 1900s. As for how old they appear/were when they were turned, that’s up to you–but I imagine at least old-looking enough to be in a bar without drawing attention. ![]()
I knew you would be.
I’m actually torn over which one I like more, too!
Yes, this will be expanded upon! Long story short, it was a classic case of opposites attract, followed closely by opposites combust together in very destructive relationship.
Given Olivia’s age, I imagine her as more like Louise and Boo-Boo, but I won’t stop you from imagining Tina! ![]()
MC: Olivia, go with Dolores and fetch water for the group.
[Barry walks by.]
Olivia: Butts. Uh, I mean, okay, MC!
Thank you!
And nothing much: unless the zombie’s brain is destroyed, it keeps going, and the vampire gets a big old bite out of something gross. (Imagine taking a bite out of a moldy apple or a pile of ash or something.)
Yes, Tempe Beach Park is a thing: it’s next to ASU’s main campus and it’s where a lot of big concerts and events are held! I chose it versus a stadium because it’s a big open area from which the MC can potentially escape when the zombies arrive, versus being trapped inside of a stadium. Incidentally we do have a lot of “beaches” by lakes, not least of which in Lake Havasu City! Your reaction is duly noted, though. ![]()
@Warikahnite I don’t have time to list all of the nicknames’ effects and backstories at the moment, but maybe later. ![]()
These zombies are essentially humans who have had their brains taken over by a parasite, so no mutant Left 4 Dead/Last of Us boss zombies–just super-aggressive “humans,” some who can run. Their biggest danger is their numbers and their infectiousness.
Neither, you can turn into a wolf/dog (and maybe a bat or rat, I’m still thinking about this) a la Dracula. ![]()
Valorie is a potential werewolf ally that you can make for precisely these reasons. Werewolves tend to think of themselves as sadly-afflicted humans who are still humans at heart, whereas most Fay tend to think of themselves as distinctly not-human.
Thank you, @Loli! Sadly, no, the mesmer doesn’t work on zombies at all!
As fun as having a zombie pet Michonne style would be. You’ll have to fight them the old fashioned way (with your vampire superstrength!).
A mix of both: the parasite has essentially extinguished the “human” part of the brain, so the “human” victim is dead in the sense that their personality, memories, overall humanity have died. In this way they are the “living dead,” their bodies animated by a parasite–but their body functions are still similar to those of a living person. That’s why the parasite drives them to bite and infect others/eat people: it requires sustenance to keep on surviving in that body.
I love it. I should have put Bayonetta as a female vampire name option, lol!
I really liked the demo, even if it’s so short, and the premise REALLY get me going and super curious and anxious the complete game and see everything I’ll be able to do as a vampire surviving in a zombie apocalypse. And to discover more about the Fey and the Courts and how they will deal with this
Also, I can’t wait to seduce the homicide detective
I just KNOW that will be priceless. lol
I saw the vampire romance thing, but don’t vampires not really care about that for the most part? That is more of a mortal thing. All that matters is the hunger and blood. They don’t even care for sex, it’s just something to manipulate mortals. Blood is what replaces it, it is like a drug for them. Vampire the Masquerade has some very interesting lore involving this.
I wouldn’t necessarily agree with this. You can certainly play as that character–the game provides the option to only care about blood–but the game also asks you to choose if you’re more of a human or a monster; and if they’ve held on to their humanity, motivations such as greed, fear, power, money, and even love and sex are still factors of their lives.
Depictions of vampires vary from text to text, obviously, but even the very first vampires to appear in Western literature had their origins deeply, deeply rooted in sex and sexuality. Part of the controversy of Dracula was how sexual it was: Dracula is a sexual predator to men and women alike, his “brides” or “weird sisters” seduce Jonathan, and Lucy, his victim, is most monstrous because of her exaggerated sexuality (something which would have terrified prudish British sensibilities in the Victorian era). Florence Marryat’s The Blood of the Vampire, another very early vampiric text, also introduced an incredibly sexual vampire who attempted to pursue a lesbian relationship with her human victim. There’s even such a thing as sexual vampires–“vampires” who feed on the sexual energy of their victims, like incubi or succubi. So I wouldn’t say vampires don’t care about sex. It just depends on what medium about them you’re reading.
Seems a bit odd, there is only one clan in VtM that I can think of that still cares for such things, Toreador . I’ve been getting into some of their lore and it makes lots of sense for vampires to function this way. You can still hold on to parts of humanity, but at the end of the night as a vampire you are still a monster that needs to feed on humans. You have to contend with the beast inside and sate your never ending hunger.
I don’t think this game is VtM. They’d need a licence for that. Vampires are a lot older than White Wolf RPGs. Even out of print ones.
@rinari. I hope Tracy survives. If you don’t kill her.
She was so nice and attractive and tastey.
I was using it as an example because their lore makes more sense to me, more so than something awful like Twilight for example.
Hmmm, you’ve given me an idea… We will see. ![]()
As much as I love VtM, not every vampire work has to follow WoD logic or ruleset. Besides, if your character can RP without romancing anyone, you’d still be good, imo.
Oh god no you’re going to make us run into her again as a zombie or watch her getting eaten by them aren’t you. I think you missed it since I posted it directly under one of your previous posts but I actually think she’d be an interesting romance option since well, characters like the way she’s portrayed to be tend not to survive zombie apocalypses… usually as some sort of cautionary tale about vice, but they also don’t tend to have a vampire to protect them.
Oh and another thing, is there any potential for a cure?
This is why I brought up the Toreador because they make sense for a vampire still interested in such things. I’m not saying to copy straight from their lore, but I think that this clan fits perfectly into a romantic plot, and the vampire would probably be something like them.
As a side note I can’t wait for 5e. I’m going to be running it when it comes out.
No, if Tracy (or any of your chosen victims) were to appear in the story again, it wouldn’t be as a zombie or as someone getting eaten.
I like your thoughts on the “girl who has sex” actually surviving the horror story for once, but I don’t think I’d include her as a RO simply because the game already has 6–and the fact that she could be dead in some playthroughs would mean writing a romance route for her is a lot of trouble.
But it might be fun to lift her up to be something more than just a stereotype! I don’t know yet, we will see. ![]()

I’m not going to lie. My biggest beef with Horror stuff is the two people having sex usually getting killed very early on for whatever reason.
I also noticed a trend lately of “Attractive characters being killed first, either because they’re assholes, or we just hate beautiful people.”
It makes me immediately lose interest. I just don’t understand it lol.
There are actually significant cultural reasons for this trope: why the “virgin” always survives to the end of the story/is the “Final Girl,” and why the sexual people are usually the first to die. I won’t go into it here but there’s a lot of literature written about it.
Also, not defending the trope, because I dislike how predictable it makes the story–just saying there also isn’t no reason for it, either! (<-- That was an awkwardly-structured sentence, sorry.)
To be blunt, I find the whole “kill the whore” subtext in so many horror movies offensively stupid even just based on my own self interest as a straight man. Luckily for me I am not easily offended so I tend to just try to casually encourage subversion for the sake of variety, which seems to work pretty well.
