Agents and Oracles (WIP)

This is what I have so far for the game Agents and Oracles. In a world where AI shapes everyday life, you play the leader of a heist team that breaks into AI datacenters for profit. But one of your clients has aspirations that you may not be okay with…

The main experiment in this game is that you’re playing someone who is so deep into AI, your choices are often coming from different AIs instead of your own mind - choices come with a label for which AI is suggesting them.

You also have a heist team - Kate the face who wants to livestream her every waking moment, Neil the fighter who’s doing it all for utilitarianism, Monica the mapper who can predict what’s around the next corner, and Jared the stone cold professional who “dances”, meaning he’s real good at following AI instructions for realtime shooting and other physical activities.

Key things I want to know are - does the AIs giving choices thing work? Is the team likeable and memorable? Are the heists worthy of the name? This isn’t a final draft at all, but I want to nail these things before revising language.

Currently it’s got three out of eleven chapters and 35K words, but the later chapters will be bigger. I honestly have no idea what my update schedule will be once the fall semester starts.

AI Disclosure:

No — This project does not contain the output of Generative AI
Yes — This project contains the output of Generative AI

I will note that I do use AI for research (“what kind of gun is plausible in this situation”) and editing (finding typos, bad choicescript, comments on pacing, etc).
