Hello everyone, Iām back! Iāll be updating the game more often now. The game has already two updates. The word count is at 117,000 words, and I would estimate about a third of it being seen in a run through.
Update on the next update, I have 1k words written.
That demo was a lot more interesting than what I expected, great job
Thanks! I appreciate you giving it a try ![]()
Update! 8/16/24
Hey everyone! This update is smaller than last, with 3k new words. I would guess around 1k being seen through playthough. So if you like bigger updates, I would wait until the next one.
Total word count is now 119,899.
This first chapter is almost done with one or two updates left. Havenāt added a fast-forward option yet.
Damn, that was fast
Sadly, the next update will take me alot longer. Alot more action.
Loving it so far, but I noticed when I selected New Haven (farming one) and chose the name Liz, I was getting referred to as Scot in some scenes, most in the large conversation scenes with multiple people.
Huh, is your last name Scott? Captain Rower usually calls people by their last name. And Iām glad youāre liking it!!!
Oh didnāt realise I got to choose a surname, will play again, sorry, ah my mistake must have somehow double tapped when it came to the name selection.
Oh, no youāre fine. Better safe than sorry, donāt want everyone getting called Scott, lol.
Aaaaah! I loved it! Gemma was my favorite character couldnāt get enough of her. Maybe have an option where you could romance her that would be cool. My only complaint was Alice seemed kinda dull. Maybe try and flesh out her character a little more. Canāt wait to read more though!
Thanks! Iām glad youāre enjoying it!
Gemma will definitely be romanceable. As for Alice, she will get more interesting as the stories goes. She is a little harder to write for than Denzel.
This reminding of comic gung-ho which is make pretty good impressions for me and i donāt know i think you need one more female hetero or nonbinary love interest but i donāt know why i think that
Thanks, for reading! Iām glad youāre liking it so far. Iāve never heard of Gung-Ho, maybe I should look into it. This might be weird, but Mass Effect 2 has been my inspiration lol.
So far there is four female love interests, Alice, Gemma, June and Kye. Thereās also four male love interests, Denzel, Daniel, Hector, and Joe. I actually was debating on adding two others. My fear with adding more companions is I want to make sure each character is interesting.
After this chapter, Iām planning on going back and adding more dialog to a few of the characters that I felt didnāt get enough time, along with more player customization and a couple of other things I donāt like. If after I feel good about these characters, I may have Shelly become a romanceable character, along with a Guard.
I am intrigued by this, I like the story so far, it doesnāt feel rushed, does go into details while not really excessive in doing so, what make this different is the consequences of doing silly thing is real, not many choice game go to that length.
Interesting premise, much like the Zombie Exodus and Doomsday on Demand series. It definitely has potential if you keep the plot immersive enough as it has been till now, as it stands out from the other zombie games in being centred around a safe haven and its shenanigans.
My only concern would be grouping some of those pages into one, instead of keeping 50-60 words per page, you could go for much more.
I liked the time dependent cut scenes, theyāre a unique feature youāve added and I greatly liked that bit, helped to form an adrenaline rushed immersive experience.
Carry on the good work, Ave ![]()
Thanks for reading, Iām glad you like it so far! Yeah, Iāve been trying to make sure choices has some type of consequences even if itās just something small. It has been taking me a little longer with all the possible outcomes, but I have been enjoying it.
