I’m gonna wager that “Seeker” isn’t so much a person as it is a handed-down personality - whenever the mantle is passed down the line, the new Seeker becomes more like the previous Seeker.
I thought about making my MC an orphan but decided against it. Too many of my own OCs are orphans for one reason or another who either get adopted or are old enough to not need foster parents by the time they do become orphans so I decided to just have an introverted reluctant hero with parents instead
That’s not in the cards at the moment, I’m afraid to say. There are some people who have a vetted… interest, you could say, in Seeker being alive and well.
I have the theory that Seekers need alcohol to be able to use their powers well, that’s why we never actually see him drunk despite him chugging what would, eventually, kill someone
or maybe it’s a coping mechanism after V left and his life lost its meaning…
I mean, er… nothing… That’s not it…
We’ll learn Seeker’s secrets eventually though, he’s rather awful at keeping them. If you are particularly observant, you could notice there’s a rather severe contradiction in Chapter 4, or at least something that doesn’t exactly line up and should make you bring up a few questions.
Hmm… that’s a bit of a hard question. Realistically, stats don’t really translate very well to the NPCs, partly because I don’t really see them in the same light as the MC, and also because a character’s level is always gonna be “whatever is needed to move the plot forward” (inside of what’s realistic for the character, of course).
For a good baseline though, you could assume Forlorn, Ignis and Seeker are all a decent chunk stronger in their respective specialties than the MC would be, even at 100% in any stat. They’re at an undetermined 100%+ tier, like maybe 150% in strength for Forlorn and Seeker, or 150% for Ignis in blaster.
Nova is, quite obviously, smarter than the MC. But the problem is that his smarts don’t really come into play the same way yours do. He’s got stuff like eidetic memory and tackles problems in his mind like you would puzzles or a rubik cube.
Everything has a solution to Nova. It’s just a matter of making it all click into place. Maybe something like 200% smarts? He’s definitely nowhere near as strong or fast out of his suit though, so… It evens out.
Aki is more complicated, because the one thing Other!MC was absolutely right on in Chapter 3 is that she’s the MC’s equal. She’ll essentially be growing and evolving in strength alongside the MC and Latooni, since I kind of want to build you three up as the face of the “new-gen”. She’ll likely remain your peer as the story continues, so I’d rather not give any number out that would dispel the fantasy.
… There is a secret there, though. She could always give Forlorn a scare. More on that later.
Mars is… well, sadly, not quite as strong. He’s probably the weakest out of the whole group, if only because he doesn’t have a magic metal suit to bridge the gap, so he’s left with what’s normal for him.
Which is still very far out of what an average human can be, of course, but he’s not gonna be out there punching giant robots in Chapter 5. Think of him as something like a baseline start of the game MC, with somewhat higher smarts, and much higher charm. (45 smarts, 60-70 charm, maybe?)
That gap may be bridged eventually, though. Don’t count him out yet.
And, of course, a little bonus, because I’ve actually had a question about this before:
Broken King:
Strength 295%.
Smarts: 200% (not in the way you think. He’s not a genius).
Charm: 20%
Blaster: 300%.
Secret stat: It’s secret, you guys!
Blitz Queen:
Strength: 325% (with a funny caveat).
Smarts: 55% (Once more, not at all in the way you think).
Charm: 125% (but it becomes a 30000% for checks regarding the King, of course!).
Blaster: 175% (It becomes 300% when the King is involved, though).
Their sparring record was heavily in The Queen’s advantage, and The King never beat her in an actual, serious fight.
Also, those are low-end estimates. I’ll probably boost them if they become personally relevant.
Nova likely keeps a list of physical specifications regarding League Members, yes. It’s not entirely accurate, because what you can manage in training and what you manage in an andrenaline-filled state where it’s a matter of life and death are very different things, but it can serve for a very good estimate.
Mars doesn’t have any files, but the government does keep some estimates on the League’s level, which he could likely access. Some of them are close, others are wildly off-base. Not telling you which ones.
Seeker does not keep these records. He does not care. Kratis’ sole concern is his own ability, which is, in his not at all biased opinion, sorely lacking. How the rest of the League stacks up to him (or doesn’t, in some cases), isn’t his problem, Seeker must be able to do it all on their own.
…
…
… Well.
He does keep track of how Ignis is doing, and more often than not, he does help her train. But that doesn’t mean anything.
Please don’t tell Twitter, they’ll have a fucking field day.
Wow I disappear for a week and look at so many interesting things being said huhuhu I’m evermore curious and thirsty about this story.

Reading the story (whatever flaws it may have, little in comparison to the good things in my umbiased opinion xD) had really sparked the need to return to the writing board and try somethings, it was really years since I felt inspired to do so, it may not be perfect (yet u.u) but there is something charming and special about your writing (don’t know what, it may all be in my head) but thanks to share it with a humble stranger xD
Of course! He just takes everybody’s measurements/attributes so he can build a ‘custom-made’ exoskeleton.
It would seem prudent for the President’s bodyguard to have a ‘contingency’ plan in case the Heroes become an immediate threat to the President.
I’m also curious to see how the international Heroes compare to the members of the League. There have to be a couple of them that can give us a run for our money, even if they’re not as renown.
Could a reluctant/lazy/pragmatist MC encourage/exploit Seeker’s one-man-army approach? Maybe they can let Seeker do most/all the hard work AND get paid for ‘overseeing’/‘learning on the job’. A work smart, not hard kind of thing.
If Mars were to approach someone to get/verify/update relevant information on the members of the League it would be Dark Star. Not only is a former soldier, he also ‘blends’ in with the area… Didn’t he go/was sent away to babysit someone? The recovering President or something?
I think Dark Star is one of the party’s fanatical zealots, so my guess would be no.
I’m pretty sure the only reason Dark Star is even on the team is because of governmental imposition, a sort of trade in exchange for giving the group the legal privileges it has.
I don’t avoid Forlorn per se, but after Aki’s talk with him I might have to, if only to keep health insurance premiums down.
And then imposter syndrome kicks in, and all of a sudden you don’t like that fucker either.
I’d trade Dark Star for literally nothing. Last one, not for display purposes only, free to a bad home. All sales are final.
