A Tale of Heroes (WIP) - 224k words. Updated 29/01/2025!

Yep, it’s me again :stuck_out_tongue:

I was thinking, who’s stronger between Forlorn and Seeker? I was kind of leaning on Forlorn since he’s considered to be the strongest hero around and when the MC questions him on how would win between him and Seeker, I think the “speed” that he’s referring to implies that in pure physical prowess he’s got the objective upper hand.

And since as far as we know, Seeker’s power is attached to his swords, disarming or outright destroying them should decide the fight in his favour 10/10 times. Ofc that’s just my opinion and I’m not implying it will be easy to separate Seeks from his swords remembers how Seeker threatened to maim Darkstar if he touched them

btw, President Marcus Gloria RO when? <3

Before Juan answer what do you all think, I’m curious at the consensus of the thread

  • Seeker
  • Forlorn

I’m pretty sure that Forlorn is stronger. I also think that while he’d win in a duel, Seeker would be the one victorious in a real, life-or-death fight, because he’d have to gimp himself with blade use in the first instance while being able to fully let go on the latter.

So Forlorn is better if you want whoever they’re fighting in one piece at the end of the fight, but Seeker can win more difficult battles provided you’re ok with turning the opponent into sliced bread.

AKI could win every fight if she put her mind to it though, because “being able to move much, much faster than your opponent” is an unbeatable trump card. Every time Superman lets Darkseid see him, let alone land an actual punch, he’s being a half-witted shmuck.

No comment on who wins (not yet, anyway, I would like to hear other people’s thoughts), but I feel like I should mention that you’re making the question incorrectly. Or, at least, lacking certain important aspects.

I’ll direct you to one quote that should help you figure out how:

“Seeker and Forlorn have known each other for a decade, even lived together for a while, as far as I know, and the moment he steps up to me, Seeker hits him into submission? That doesn’t track at all.”

And two, I’ll say this, which I think I’ve said on the infiniverse discord to those of you there (and the game hints somewhat if you hang out with Forlorn), but:

Gloria: “Seeker is… Well. Seeker. The Japanese PM loves him, which is great, but everyone in there knows he marches to the beat of his own drum.”

V and, eventually, Ignis:

Kratis is the most whipped man alive, and his entire character plotline is you all learning how much of a fuck-up that makes him.

But, while utterly hilarious, that has some heart-stopping implications. Try and figure out which ones.

I will confirm one thing though, because I love V and I’ll take any chance I can to talk her up:

She’d beat the entire current League at once and not break much of a sweat doing it.

This is true. Aki stronk. Aki stronkest there is.

Interesting question DIO, I despise Seeker with passion, hence it pains me to say that Seeker would win.

Now Forlorn and Seeker both have super-strength, both know a lot about combat, and have a ton of experience, so it’s gonna come down to something else aka speed.

Now from Aki’s statement after saying she can go 25 mach

"They just asked me how fast I was going, and I told them! I don’t know why they’re so spooked anyway, you’re way-"

Now from this statement, we can understand that Seeker is faster than Aki, now Aki may be exaggerating due to her issues, but I don’t think the truth is far off.

@JBento you are right, that being able to move faster is indeed an ultimate trump card, hence why I think Seeker would win in all scenarios. As much as I despise him, I can’t deny that.

forlorn would immediately and instantaneously win in a fight with seeker, no questions about it.

here is my critically accalimed evidence for so:

  1. forlorns eyes go pew pew with lasers, the only superpower seekers eyes have is zoning in on ignis’s ass

  2. forlorn has fists, which are the weapns granted to man by God and thus blessed by His divine grace. seeker has two bronze age copper swords, which will immediately break and wither into dust when it comes into contact with something thats firmer than akis self esteem.

  3. forlorn is the leader of the league yet seeker is just a simple member. this makes forlorn the alpha, and seeker the beta. the funny men on the internet told me that being alpha is better than being beta, hence forlorn is better than seeker.

this result is based on scientifically accurated and peer reviewed data. there is NO bias from my desire to have forlorn spot me at the gym. there is also NO bias from me wanting forlorn to wrap his big beefy arms around me and gently rock me back and forth.

I don’t know who will win but I will support forlorn cuz I like him more than seeker

I personally think that seeker would win in a real fight but that’s only in a serious fight where both are going with the intention to kill, however Forlorn is not as inherently lethal in his style but is much more of a leader

Forlorn didn’t take Ignis from me, so he’s stronger.

Will it be possible to have good relationships but not romance any one I will play all of the romance but I also want to play a route with a character that ain’t into romance at all

Yes, of course! Not romancing a character does not mean you won’t get to learn more about them or get a stronger connection. You’ll be able to interact and react with the characters in every way possible.

You’ll learn of Ignis’ issues, Nova’s issues, Mars’ issues, Aki’s issues, and Lat’s… well, she doesn’t really have issues (not ones that she acknowledges, anyway), regardless of what your relationship with them is. Friend or partner, all of them could use a hand.

And she’ll keep pretending that’s true until it is!

Hey, if thinking too much makes the brain go ouchie, then the solution is clearly not to think at all!

… Right?

… Why are you calling a therapist?

I’ll be unreasonable in my aversion to Seeker, so I’ll have to say that Forlorn will win. He has the discipline for it, he tries to perfect his form since he’s observing martial art stuents at the dojo. Seeker though? Well… Do you remember this fragment:

“Huh,” you say, trying to imagine the teenage adventures the two of them might get up to. “Any funny stories about young Seeker?”
“Believe it or not, he actually drank more back then,” Forlorn says, a smile plain on his face for the first time in the conversation. “He only began to slow down after meeting Ignis.”
“That sounds hard to believe,” you tell him. “Last I checked, the man downs a gallon of beer a day. How did he manage to fit in more alcohol?”

It doesn’t show Seeker in the best light. So I think that in right conditions Forlorn could easily win. Dedication and skill over fancy swords for me.

Is this… is this an actual question? He’s a walking, breathing definition of an imperialism?

Oh, enough plot twists to snap my neck about a dozen times over.

And, to be fair, she is a 21 year old in 2020 in the middle of college who now has to wrestle with the reality that we’re cooking our planet, the police is… well, the police, and the government is… Yeah…

I’d be surprised if she wasn’t constantly at the verge of a psychotic break. I know I sure am.

Also, y’know, that lat_ready stat has to matter at some point…

A more than fair point! I’ll note though, despite the copious consumption, the MC has never seen Seeker drunk, nor will they. Make of that what you will.

Ignis’ beneficial influence? He decided to change his ways? It’s actually just a pose?

Ah, well, I’d rather not confirm anything yet…

But you’re right about Ignis, at least in a certain way. Forlorn, Nova and Shin mention this, but Seeker was a very different person before Ignis screamed him into getting his act together, and you’ll see that be explored some more in the following chapters.

Whatever the reason though, Seeker’s never drunk, no matter how often we see him drink.

Funny thing: Back when Seeker and V still lived/worked/whatever together, V was actually the one who drank in the duo.
