Essentially yes, the pyre is at the end of book 1. In the demo, there is also a good chunk of book 2.
But thatâs just assuming that the author may not have had the idea in mind from the beginning. Or that they donât have answers to those questions rather than that they simply havenât expanded upon it because itâs unnecessary when it isnât in the story itself.
And tbh one of the things that really winds me up these days is peoples perpetual need to have every single thing explained without even trying to come up with anything themselves or maybe just accepting that theyâre never going to know all the nitty gritty facts about a fictional world. Take the poop example: easy solution is that itâs magic. It disappears. The vanishing spell literally makes it vanish. Done.
Hah! Had to look for it because it was so long ago and I didnât remember lol
Okay, I didnât necessarily asked for an affair, but imo itâs close to it
I get where you are comong from, but you are dangerously close to " donât think, just look at pretty colors" and " its magic i ainât gotta explain s**t" arguments. Thatâs why I said earlyer that itâs fine if the author fills the gaps of inconsequential stuff but not the important stuff.
Look at Antes love for Leon. She loves Leon > so she wants to protect him > so sheâs suspicious of our suspicious Mc > so the has them under observation at all times > she only gets more suspisious as time goes on > she confronts Mc and gets her people killed > she stops Mc from breaking the enchantment > that resulted in Mc having to kill the Saintess > she advocates for Mc execution and gets them killed.
All that was informed by the fact that she is in love with Leon. That has major consequence for the characters and overall plot. Anteâs motivation for what she does is not unnecessary, its crutial for the story. The J.K. thing was unnecesary in the way that she shouldnât even be coming up with that stuff. Just say âthey did it like everyone elseâ or that she havenât thought abot it and it would be fine but instead she came up with a new mechanic that turns the whole story upside down.
What winds me up these days is when people donât think enough about media they consume, just eat it all up and wait for the next thing, worsening overall quality of all future creations. People forget that writing is a form of craft just like carpentry or architecture. And just like a crooked table a story also can have objective flaws and its not an attack on the author if you point them out. Just like a piece of furniture needs all its parts fitting neatly together so does the story. No one ever complained âthat story makes just to much senseâ, " I just hate how the plot progression was clear and understandable" or " I canât stand how the characters motivations were clear and their actions well informed". Writing and every form of art is like a house. First and foremost it has to stand, because it doesent matter how beautiful you make it, if its foundation is faulty it will crumble ( not that this book is in that state, just to be clear).
I was only referencing that one specific instance where âthe vanishing spell vanishes the thingâ to ME seems like a perfectly reasonable explanation because itâs literally a childrenâs story about magic. I wasnât insinuating that people stop thinking about media they consume or âjust look at pretty colorsâ(?). It wasnât even really directed at/about you or the AMR discussion, just tangentially related to the initial topic, which was that we have no way of knowing if an author wrote something with that idea already in mind at conception (even though itâs not included), vs coming up with it later which is what I felt you were saying.
Wild that apparently Iâm âworsening the quality of all future creationsâ because I donât think the existence of a poop dimension in Harry Potter is important or needs to be addressedđ Sometimes authors have intentions beyond what we see and what is included in the story, and we have no way of knowing how much itâs been thought through or not, thatâs literally all I wanted to say LOL
I didnât mean you specifically, sorry if thatâs how it looked I just ramble a lot and I sometimes donât make sense to myself, so again sorry if it looked like I attacked you.
I meant that if we as an audience just accept everything that comes our way in media, the creators will stop trying their best, because why should they if the audience will watch anything or read anything anyways. Just put Luke Skywalker on screen people will love it. Why is he there? Dunno. Whatâs he doing? Dunno, but people sure will pay to see him.
With the âpretty colorsâ I meant the visual spectacle, I guess in movies. When movies focus so much on visuals they ignore or straight out throw logic out the window. Like the multiverse of madness did.
Also, I think saying itâs for kids as an excuse for the problems is the media is doing them a great disservice. Plenty of movies, especially animated ones, are primary for kids but are of great quality. Look at the lion king, monsters inc basically the best of disney before it lost its soul. Yes, they are intended primarily for kids but the plot progresses logically, the characters are well defined and itâs difficult to actually find any flaws in them. Not to mention some humor that will fly over kidsâ heads that they will get when they grow up. Those are movies that will last for generations because they respected the intellectual capacity of kids as well as adults.
Coming again to the art as a craft thing. If we accept everything made, and do not hold the creators accountable to a certain level of quality, there will never be another Sistine Chapel, another Mona Lisa, or Lord of the Rings. Because why would anyone strive for mastery when mediocrity is plenty enough.
I think we derailed this whole thread pretty hard tbh xd.
cant sleep so hereâs songs by the mountain goats that are ostensibly about divorce but are actually about Leon and my mc specifically

So book 1 is already available in the demo,
Will it be removed after its published, if not Isnt it kinda already out there on the internet for Free?
Since book 2 is in progress and has a demo technically, does that mean we can save our progress in book 1 immediately after its released
Saves at the end of a game arenât usually implemented until a sequel is closer to launch.
depends on when they gonna make the sequel to the game though.
Itâs already been started, but Iâm not sure when itâd be complete to the point that saves are implementedâŚ
thatâs when 80% is ready, right? i think i saw it somewhere
well if it is already being created i not seen it anywhere on here so i guess they not released the demo onto choice of games yet.
actually itâs already been released. itâs just that the author put books 1 and 2 in the same demo. everything that happens after the execution is book 2
âŚok that confusing shoulda just done it like seperate games like they do on tv shows btw currently watching Wan Jie Xian Zong 5th Season, already watch the past 1 through 4 its a interesting show if you wanna check it out here link to the first season Watch Wan Jie Xian Zong Online Episode List - Animeflix
I actually like the continuity that comes from the demo containing both booksâŚ
Why are you plugging random shows in a COG forum?
August 4th???!! Thatâs so close! How exciting! I cannot wait for the game to be released!
