A Mage Reborn, Book Two (WIP) - UPDATED April 5th, 2025 | Book One Released!

I’ll forever be hung up on it unless we get the option to ask him. That’s probably one of the few things my mage would speak to him about. Did he ever actually trust them? Cause even in Saine’s branch during the interlude, he mentions that the rest of the WF wanted to know more but were too nervous to ask. What made them nervous to ask someone who saved their lives? :sob:

No? If he killed the mage, they wouldn’t have won the war, and Param would have been destroyed. Besides, I don’t know where you got the idea that Ante could have killed the mage; even in his weakened state, you could still feel Ante’s presence. After the war ended, there was nothing to put his trust to the test at that point, so sending him to be killed, considering he literally saved your kingdom, wouldn’t have anything to do with trust. It would be because he feared your power or something like that and from the moment you start investigating what a person does all the time, you can’t say that you trust them.

I see your point here about having the right to do that, but to execute someone who was supposed to be close to you just because you let yourself be influenced is not a mistake he made it’s a choice. Not to mention, he let himself be poisoned because he put himself in that position. He was the King; he could have given the order to Ante to stop watching over you or not.

What I’m saying is that his decisions led to that outcome, but everyone wants to justify their actions as if he acted in the right way as a friend. And if he made that decision as a king, then what kind of friendship can be formed in the future if he’s never willing to stand up for you? It’s an extremely weak bond.

That’s one of the most recent things I’ve been thinking about. What did he really think and feel about the mage if he didn’t even entertain Ilya or Saine’s protests. Two people who are equally as close to the mage. Even Ilya wanted to hear the mage out and she was the CLOSEST to the Saintess.

On Leon:

  1. Maybe the solution could be that… he’s simply an impulsive moron? From what I read he’s always given me “strong muscle but not very bright” vibes
  2. If he’s so fast to reject you… Why is he the male RO instead of Saine again?

To answer your second question: It’s because Saine is set to be an aro-ace character by the author.

Impulsive moron is supposed to be a good king? It’s only a matter of time before he makes another fatal mistake…
Unless he gives Saine the role of advisor, and will leave him all thinking and calculation xd

I might consider this valid if it wasn’t for Saine and Ilya being able to figure out that it just did not make sense for the mage to suddenly do that, things were not adding up, Leon couldn’t see that. He admits as much at the end in B2 to Saine that he felt he the mage had purposely betrayed him.

…You know, I think you’re right, especially with the end of the B2 demo…

Hmm, that makes it a bit difficult for me, because I recognize that manipulation can utterly destroy relationships, on one hand this shows Leon’s bond with the mage wasn’t as deep as the others if he allowed the words of a 3rd party to screw his perception of his friend, calling their whole relationship into question.

On the other hand, some people straight up don’t have the mental fortitude to come out of being manipulated unscathed regardless how intent they are in their heart, if Leon truly valued their relationship with the MC Ante’s lies could have twisted it beyond what he had the ability to mentally fight of, and as a result his perception becomes too twisted to see clearly.

That is a… Difficult situation, and for the kind of mage I play knowing Leon, his former friend, had been manipulated to the point he could no longer see their relationship as it was… That’s going to be quite a dilemma to process.

Either way it won’t stop me from kicking his ass when I get the chance. And I’ll kick it more if he doesn’t put Ante in jail after throwing her in the river, I’m pretty pissed he hasn’t at least locked her up. I already said Leon isn’t very smart and he continues to show it.

Impulsive, definitely, but I’m not sure I’d call him a moron. Don’t get me wrong, he does kind of give off himbo vibes, but I mean as far as we know, he’s done a pretty good job as king and led a war effort. He is, however, horribly irresponsible.

Even Julius (when he was alive in Book 1) mentions that Leon is a terrible statesman.

edit: he also seems to hate being king and finds statemanship/administration exhausting and stressful in Book II.

Nah nah. As a friend, nah he didnt do right by you. No argument there. What i was really arguing was that Leon was also dealing with bullshit that’d lead him to the decisions he made.

Everything I’ve read against him just makes it sound like there was absolutely no reason he should’ve acted the way he did at the end there, and i think there was reason. Dude let his stress and doubts control him which sucked but atleast there aas actual cause for his decisions.

See i think he was just overwhelmed from all the crap that went on. Leon was always the more emotional one of the crew i believe amd if the other posts are to be believed (cause i have no memory of leon in B2 so correct me at any part), he felt the MC personally betrayed him so that contributed a lot no doubt.

the earth-shattering horror and regret of ivan the terrible and his son is so perfect for the moment when leon finds out why mc killed the saintess someone much more talented than me should draw him and their mage like this

Realistically, he’d be holding a pile of ashes. Or have to grave rob Aunt Bess which isn’t the worst thing he’s done so far. :weary:

Does anyone know who’s the artist for the characters of this game? also who are the characters on the cover of the first game?

art looks really good

On the first game the cover is a design of two different MC’s

I’m surprised the Leon antis haven’t lost their minds over the fact he intends to hug the mage against their will to satisfy his own desires. If the mage dated him before. Dunno what the friendship route says about his intentions.

“he will lay down his life to find out the truth. Shed his armor, bare his chest for her dagger to find, if that’s the price he must pay. Anything to hold her close once more, feel her heart beat against his.”

He still thinks the mage will stab him given the chance. @lairiend, we will never rest easy.

Unconsenting hugs is illegal in at least 9 different states and I won’t let Leon become a criminal.

Actually I’m dreading meeting Illya or Saine for the same reason…
