The first picture is if I pick the second option. If I pick the first option its a bit different it just says char 10 instead of 8

None of the options work on the next balcony scene
Here’s an advice. You might want to get beta testers to thoroughly test the game to find all errors before you do a public update. I dunno if you’ve been doing quicktest and the other thing I can’t remember is called but you might want to consider doing that as well.
Other than that, the story plot seems to be progressing quite well with good amount of choices that reflects on the personality of the MC. Keep up the good work

What do you mean? What does it show you when you get to the scene/try to choose anything?
@bored93 I’ve thought about doing so, and I’ve done randomtest as well a few times in the past, but not as consistently as just going through myself. The easiest way to have testers before it goes public is do so via patreon. Thank you for your kind words as well!

All four options yield the error message “Eleven line 86 expected choice body”
Out of curiosity, how does patreon help with beta testing?

In regards to your question, on patreon make a private test (i think i can on CoG anyway) link for the demo that only those on patreon would have access to for a period of time. I don’t know what the typical duration is (if there is such a thing), but after it’s tested, then the public link would be updated for everyone to play.
…Edit because I fixed it. Feelin real sloppy rn.

Since I have a few asks about this, I’m making a general post. This:
“Eleven line 36: Invalid expression, couldn’t extract another token: $j_she”
did NOT come up for me when I went through. I tried all 4 options and this error never came up. So, I am at a genuine loss here. As always, you’re free to look at the code and tell me what’s wrong or what you think should be tweaked/fixed. Especially for this, because I don’t know if it’s something I’ve done, or if it’s out of my hands and a weird bug.
EDIT TO ADD: I copy and pasted the bit necessary to make it go through. I don’t know why it didn’t like the Male/Nonbinary variant as it was. I’m sure it was something stupid. But either way, it works now.

It happens for every option. My character is male. I assume j_she is for if you are female and so J is?

Yeah, it did NOT like MC being male or nonbinary and I have no idea why. I’m assuming I did something wrong somewhere, dunno what. But it works now. Wish I knew what I did wrong tho-

Setting a goal! Here’s what I hope to do within the week or two.

Ideally, depending how long it takes me, because I have quite a bit I didn’t finish in the original Word doc., I want to get CH.12 and 13. uploaded. CH.12 sounds far more likely this week, just because it’s a short chapter. But because of it’s length, it feels silly to me to upload only a single chapter. Even if I am adding a small scene. I’d really like to do 12 through 14, honestly. However, I work slow so my focus will be on 12 and 13, and go from there.
I figure after uploading (and, yknow, actually PLAYING through the demo myself this time, that was… not smart of me, I know) that I’d return to Patreon. I have a ton of stuff I could put there, most of it being deleted content. But an Anon did give the idea to write the scene with Ulysses in an LI/RO POV. I don’t imagine that will be very long (especially since it’d be very early into a relationship, romantic or friendly) but perhaps it’ll still be interesting! I still have an entire draft that I finished that I could offer as well.
In addition, I think I’ll have to consider creating a private test for patrons. If not now, then certainly in the future. This means a demo will be uploaded to Patreon for all tiers and feedback would be given to me through it for a period of time.
Lastly (this is long, I’m sorry-) I remembered sketching concepts for the artwork, such as the cover and all. The plan was to put them to a vote to see what you guys would prefer but, honestly, I’m not sure how well it fits now. BUT I have zero ideas for what I would do. Weep for me, ya’ll.
