I really hope that become reality, or if no helicopter is available then maybe some opportunity to steal the APC from silverthorne
I believe it is scientifically possible for two women to have a child together, you just take the DNA from one egg, insert it into the other one, then flush it with some chemicals to get fertilisation going. Essentially just another version of IVF. Last I heard they just werenât legally allowed to grow the embryo past 10 days, so itâs still more or less theoretical
I doubt anyone in the group could perform an IVF except maybe Parker. And even if he could why would MC want a baby when itâs so early on in the apocalypse and dangerous ?
Depends on the location - there isnât a federal law against it in the US as I understand. Of course, prior law doesnât exist in the post-apocalypse.
Sometimes people want to have children.
Not being the leader is difficult because for some of the daily duties there is no option to actually work on them and the haven never really gets improved or added on to. Also, the dependent and pet kind of disappear mid way through.
Can we not start with the idea that people with less-than-ideal life circumstances shouldnât have children?
I have not finalized any of the pregnancy related content in the game, so for now itâs not worth going over any of these details.
In fact, this weekend I will be taking down the beta-test while the copy editor is working on this last version of the game. I will likely run another beta-test in February for one last review before publication.
If you are right not to think about the possibility of pregnancies since coding your story is already complicated so one step at a time.
I have a problemâŚ
I chose my profession as an infantry soldier but when I go to stay and change clothes, my uniforms donât appear.
Helloo everyone! Help would be much appreciated from any comedians and shit talkers amongst you. Iâm looking to change the dialogue for the âinsult optionâ during the scene with benton. The original looked like this:
âHello Benton. Have you ever been a prisoner before? Some of us were betting outside. I seem to think youâve gotten caught lots of times and thrown in jail because of how stupid you are. Plus you look guilty. You have that look of a weasel with beady eyes and no chin and bad hair. But Iâm sure you know all this.â
âHa! Okay, fair enough. You got me.â
Personally, I feel like this can be vastly improved. If -anyone can pitch some ideas, looking for:
-something witty and scathing.
-About a paragraphs worth of text to maintain the word count.
-Something that anyone can say, no matter the class/background/age/etc.
- something that everyone can understand.
If you have any ideas or you think the original is fine, let me know.
Just a quick note, not sure if itâs been touched on or not.
Is there an option to bring a flashlight/light source to safe haven Lancelot? Or is it not added yet, or a bug.
Itâs always greyed out for me despite trying different characters on it. I have to end up putting on the hazmat suit and keeping it on in order to search anything. I also need light despite switching it on in the security room.
I think its a bug. I was able to use items the first few times and went inside. However, the most recent time i was also grayed out. Iâll mess with it to see if I can find what is triggering this.
You place your hands on the table in front of Benton and lean forward until youâre only an inch from his face.
âMan, youâre even uglier up close than you are when Iâm out of range of the splash zone,â you say, lifting up the corners of your mouth into a grin.
âYeah?â Benton says stone-faced. âGreat idea. Remind me to spit in your face later when Iâm not restrained. Wouldnât give me enough satisfaction to not follow up with a good âol fashioned uppercut to your disgusting face. Canât do that when Iâm cuffed like this.â
You try not to laugh at his attempt at insulting you. You are not going to be intimidated by him; you are the one in charge here. Putting on a face of sudden concern, you say, âOh, right, about that. We canât unlock those cuffs for a while. You see, weâre afraid you might have the Zeta virus. Thatâs why I came in here. When we first saw you on that hilltop, you had all the telltale signs of an infected person who might turn at any moment. I mean with those bloodshot eyes, yellow droopy skin, disgusting lesions all over your body, and also slurring words and speaking gibberish, who wouldnât think you were moments away from becoming a raging, senseless monster? Not that you would be that much different than you are now.â
âHaha, Iâm just giddy with laughter. What the hell are you getting at?â
âWell, my group held a vote outside. We decided that the only way to stop the spread and save your life was to saw off a limb.â
*if intimidation > 55
Benton suddenly jerks up, eyes dilating. âN-Now lets not get too hasty. Weâre all friends here. Iâll start cooperating more now than I was. My dignity ainât worth losing an arm over.â
*else
Benton snorts at your words. âYou go on and try that. See what happens when Keith shows up. Iâd have a lot of fun chopping off all four of your limbs, one by one when he frees me.â
Thereâs my best attempt at insulting him. I figured I might as well get the ball rolling; I think that the original is just fine in the game as it is, but why not see if someone else on here can make it any better
Couldnât figure it out. I literally restarted from chaper 8 and made my way aaaaaall the way back to the safe haven. Aquired flares (which disappeared) 5 flashlights and nvg. But the whole thing was still grayed out as if I had none of them. Probably bugged out. I noticed quite a few other bugs too, so it was worth going through it again.
I really like the bit where you compare him to a zombie. I remember thinking something similar where the mc fakes a fearful reaction and tells benton they mistook him for a zombie. Youâre certainly on the right track.
Thanks! I didnât even know that part about you calling Benton a zombie happened in the game, but it certainly makes sense the MC would do that. I came up with it because I kept thinking back to Part 2 where if you have high empathy, your MC compares Bentonâs stare to the way a zombie would look at a piece of meat
Canât remember the MC calling him a literal zombie but they remark that the way he leered our members reminded them of a zombie staring at prey with dead eyes or something similar.
If there were no casualties during the fight on the hill
âFor a bunch of marines you guys suck at fighting, i might not know much about how you folks do during war time, but i know that your group fail to take down a civilian group consist of children, old people and the sick. Even worse they abandon one of their men, guess you folks are all bark and no bite huh?â
If members of your group did die
"My people die because of your. We will do whatever we can to make sure the Silverthorne will pay for this, but for now you are the only option for us to vent our anger on. If you donât wipe that smirk off your face, everyone here will make sure you regret crossing us, and remember, you kill our weak, what remains are the strong who wonât hesitate to deal with you.
If scientist background
"As somebody who is researching the Zeta virus, i will need an infected source for my experiment, so unless you follow our rules and be respectful or useful, i will turn you into one of those zombies for my own benefits. You got the look already, so nobody will notice a difference if you transform.
If police background
âFor a bunch of killing machines, you guys are terrible at your job, i was trained to not kill, to help others and i still manage to cause more problem to you than you cause us. But, i also have equipment to make sure who i deal with wonât die but have to live with terrible injuries, so unless you plan to play nicely, i will make sure the word âpolice brutalityâ is an understatement for whatâs to come.â
I think these are closer to intimidation than insult to be honest but thatâs all i got.
I finally figured it out. If you go to the cottage before Safe haven, you talk to Fern. If she likes you enough, she will tell you a secret way to get inside the safe haven. This path is bugged. Avoiding the cottage or not being too nice to Fern will avoid this bug, but you need a skill check to get inside.
So ZESH, hands down one of the best games in the CYOA format.
I do have questions, and things to point out; though being this close to release Iâm not sure if itâll actually matter.
I think there was a âwhere to liveâ option that was always grayed out and never actually choosesable. Also noticed you can read the articles on the old serial killer but NOTHING after that? Canât look into it, or ask about it to anyone.
I remembered asking a long time ago, if we were going to be able to revisit areas. So we could set up the hacker servers that we werenât able to before. I remember you saying yes, not sure if you changed your mind.- As a teen, you learn that your parents may still be alive and are supposedly back in Nightfall, but again nothing after that.
Going through the entire current public demo with the delusions option, I donât remember EVER seeing it actually do anything.
-if you arenât the leader, are you even able to choose to build areas at all in the junkyard? Seems kinda dumb that if you play a rude character and donât get voted to lead that you canât upgrade it at all.
-what upgrades I did do, I didnât really see them do anything, aside from in Rachelâs reports.
-You meet so many people in this, but donât actually get to interact with any of them after. Train group, nope. River Dogs, nope, group that harrased you for food, nope
-when crafting, if you accidentally leave the menu, the option to craft again is just gone unless you end a day.
-stealth suit, the special gun from Seif wernt anywhere. But the Khukri was, which was only gettable from Seifâs supplies.
-tons items that are gettable but have NO PURPOSE. The respirator being one. I assumed it was there for the sickly lady. In the case that you could recruit them. But you donât, so?
-you can take in the two âstraysâ from the rude group, but you pretty much dive right into the final part instantly after; giving you no chance to talk to them
-does doing any of the option arcs even do anything yet? Setting up servers so far hasnât done anything, collecting samples doesnât do anything, and you end up going to Lancelot even if you donât do the military path? Which, kinda turns into a big meh. Aside from getting the virus sample ((which you canât do anything with.)) It was just another lootable place. It had all that build up to ep.3 only to have you loot it and lose it. Anti-climatic.
All in all, thereâs a bunch of stuff introduced and then just suddenly not able to learn more about. You do a bunch of stuff, but donât actually DO anything. Aside from Lancelot and Silverthorne nothing youâve done in this episode seems to matter? Go to gas station, meet siblings but donât do anything. Get speakers, but donât actually do anything, visit the lab place. Learn a few things that donât impact anything, and do nothing. Is there even a point for the birthcontrol thing, if pregnancy or pregnancy scare isnât a path? Didnât see the drone anywhere. Canât take dog to train place.
Iâm going to be bluntly honest here, unless there is currently a bunch of content missing, you might want to work on this more. Everything feels like a pointless side mission that doesnât do anything, the camp options donât seem to actually do anything, none of the optional arcs do anything Aside from the military arc. Having a video chat with the hacker lady doesnât count. Every character besides the twins, Reilly, Nora and Rachel just feel like props that donât do anything. If you arenât the leader nothing changes, and thereâs no difference between Rachel leading and Jaime leading. It just feels like you had all these great ideas, and things to learn, but didnât follow up on any of them. đ¤ˇ
