Wolf set free WIP - CHAPTER TWO

It wasn’t a critique of the current builds, just some feedback for the author. I thought I had read them say something about possibly adding another role. Personally, the wolf form is more important to me, since I assume that would be the form used for any potential fighting, which is the point of being the small, agile/cunning character. I understand the limitations and the purpose, yet in a work of interactive fiction where we get to tailor a story to what we enjoy, I figured I would offer up my feelings on this specific topic. It is a very minor thing that is only relevant because of the addition of another role. Without any discussion about a possible 4th role, I wouldn’t have said anything because it isn’t that big of a deal. I just wanted to offer the perspective of someone whose desired character and playstyle don’t fit into the current roles provided.

To clarify: It is not my intention or desire to make the author second-guess or ask for anything to be changed.

I enjoyed reading each perspective on the matter of wolf sizes and roles. While at the moment I am not planning to change things, this is still a WIP so there could be future adjustments, even big ones.

To explain why I have settled on the specific roles and sizes, I wanted to have a feature that would implicate variations on each different role - since the story is already linear. The temperaments associated with alphas/omegas/gammas are something innate to each wolf, so they aren’t behaviours your MC needs to conform to. I wanted them to be different because as you can already see, they shape the interactions your MC has with the pack members (even though I tried to offer choices that would help shape each MC in your preferred way).

I know that this resticts some of the freedom in personalizing your MC, but my goal and hope is that you’ll have fun experiencing the variations associated, so that each run can be unique. In the future, there will be even more specific scenes for each MC, because they have different instincts that will influence your MC’s behaviour and interactions.

As for the sizes, those too are meant to offer some special interactions/scenes (for example an omega will move in the space differently than an alpha or gamma). The roles are in no way scientifically accurate, just something I had fun experimenting with. I am glad so many of you are enjoying this story!

It’s been a year since I first noticed this game, and it still evokes the same feeling in me: Wanting to see and play more of “Wolf set free” is the best one I’ve found that talks about wolves. At the beginning, it gets you hooked and wanting to know how the story continues. Among the three paths we can choose, I can’t decide which one would be better. I love the differences and characteristics that each one has. In my first playthrough after a while of playing it (currently), I chose the Omega path and I love how you can customize only our MC and his werewolf form. It’s a bit funny because by choosing the Omega path, he is about the height of an average person, while my MC’s human form doesn’t even reach the average height (Height: very short) and is slim and doesn’t have as much muscle as in his transformed form. It’s like: How can he be only half as tall as he is in his transformed form? I don’t know, I guess I chose it because it would be very funny if at some point in the story when he changes to human for the first time, a character reacts wondering how a larger wolf can actually be so small, although I don’t believe it’s a possibility since Bela is almost the same but the other way around lol

I hope you don’t abandon this  like many other projects left behind, but with a very interesting story and characters that you want to explore more deeply. I hope you take good care of yourself and don’t get too overwhelmed with things, take breaks so you don’t feel overwhelmed, and continue with your future projects. I’ll try to support you too :3 (I hope you understood, it’s not a language I speak well ;w;)

I really love the idea of this IF! I’ve always craved a story that focused on the wolfie nature of shifters more, so I was super excited when I discovered this IF.

Just to make you aware, Dashingdon hosting will be closing soon so I would recommend moving this to cogdemos or uploading a compiled html file:
