The sessions of the Shura are held every Tuesday (the Sovereign can increase them but not decrease) and they are presided by the chairman of the Shura, who is elected by the nobles every year.
The Sovereign doesn’t need to attend or hold the sessions themselves, all they need to do is revise their decision if the Shura disagrees and go there to propose laws.
Most Emperors in the history of Riyasan have attended sessions diligently since it has a good impression upon the nobles but they don’t have to.
MC’s present title is an honourary one. It has no legal power. In theory the High King/Queen is higher than all of the nobility but in terms of legal power, even a baron has more of it.
The title of High King/Queen is granted to the heir of the Empire.(like the Prince of Wales)
From what I remember of Mehmed, he was made Sultan by the will of his father but he willingly gave it up at the time of the crusade by writing to his father something like, “If I am the sultan, then I order you to lead the people. If you are Sultan, then lead your people”.
If your are wondering why Riyasanis would want such a young MC to become their Sovereign then you must wait, it will become clear in the next couple of chapters.
And its meant to be an analogue to the Seljuk Eagle. Because iirc Shura means consultant of sorts in Arabic which I believe is where you draw inspiration from for the Riyasan Empire?
I know this is not important but what is the regular army and imperial guard uniform?
I really like these details, especially napoleonc-era uniforms (I hope you understand what I wrote since I use a translator and my native language is not English)
The uniforms of the Imperial Guard would look very similar to the Russian Napoleonic grenadiers.
The regular army’s uniforms are also similar to the Imperial Guard’s uniform but with fewer embellishments.
The different troop types will have different uniforms, for example, the uniform of the line infantry is different from the grenadiers and the grenadiers’ uniform is different from the light infantry.

The first chapter is here. It is 11,130 words long(excluding code).
It gives an introduction to the religions of Riyasan and introduces the first RO, Lady Hortena de Pella.
This chapter may be a bit linear but chapter 2 will be more branchy as you will either be an officer in the Imperial Army (no matter what the gender of your MC is) or a minister of an Imperial Department.
Now you can play as an nonbinary MC, but you have to pretend to either be a man or woman in public for the first 2 chapters (for story reasons). You can declare your gender in the third chapter.

I said that the update will be on 1st July and today is not 1st July. I ran into some problems.

I had a physics test (a test on Sunday actually, I mean what kind of barbarism is this? You get one day to relax and the next thing you know, the administration of your high school has arranged a test on Sunday and they only told you two days before the actual test) Fortunately, I like physics so I wasn’t bored to madness.
Future delays
My high-school exams are coming up on 26 July which will be followed by NMDCAT (Pakistan’s equivalent of SAT) after a brief period, therefore I won’t be writing much for at least two months.
I will however add some things to Stats screen. (previous emperors, a better map which actually has borders etc) and answer any questions you may have and read your feedback.
I would recommend that you play the demo from the beginning because I added some new variables.
Now that we’ve talked about science, what scientific and technical discoveries did Riyasan make? Is it possible for players to advance science and technology?
Riyasan and the whole world is on the brink of many scientific discoveries (some of them will be in chapter 2).
As for previous scientific discoveries, Riyasan never made important ones. For the past 100 years the United Cities of Sambron are the scientific leaders of the world.
In terms of scientific progress, the world is around 1780’s version of our own. You can advance it at a rapid pace or slow it down or halt it completely by your choices.
