So to explain a bit about the world: Tamoa is a separate continent from where the current game takes place, and it’s a land full of magic, terrifying creatures, and dark, intense lore. I’m honestly really excited for when we get to that part in the story because it’s going to be one of the most intense segments, if the player decides to venture there.
On Crown Isle (the main continent where the story is currently set), there’s no “open” magic, but there are religious miracles that sometimes come true, mutants like the MC who are slightly stronger and a little physically different from normal humans, there is also hidden magic within the continent, which comes from Tamoa, such as, people pretending to be human (when they are far from that) and rare hidden vampires in the north (who are not publicly known).
Thalmarken, another continent you’ll encounter much later (near the end of the story), has magic as well, plus giants. It’s an icy, brutal place, and you will eventually have the chance to venture there.
I actually have the entire world and lore written already, including how all this ties into the main story, but it’s currently huge rough drafts and big walls of text that I haven’t released yet. I plan to clean it up and make it more presentable to share soon!
For the group and companions, you’ll be able to choose whether you want to recruit characters and build your own group/guild or go through the story solo. Every major character you meet will be recruitable, but they can die or become unavailable if you miss key dialogue or events.
As for the MC’s background, the MC will always be a mutant, but the origin you choose affects where they grew up, changes stats, and opens unique dialogue or regional options when you visit those places later. I’m also planning to expand the available regions soon!
Lastly, I’m currently rewriting Chapter 1 to make it fuller and more detailed, so hopefully you’ll see more depth and smoother pacing in the next update.
