Does anyone know how long the series will span? Lately I’ve been really into games like this so if anyone else wants to see more of this sort of world you should try out tale of immortal. But yeah really cool thing to see on the forum and I’m looking forward to every update.

The library seems quite underpowered/underdeveloped. The lore is extremely interesting, but with only being able to check out 2 books a day*, the “best” way to use the library is to go in, hit the two books ( alchemical and plants ) and promptly ignore it for the rest of your run. If you want to read the rest, you might as well just use and abandon an entirely new save. Since you can copypaste the text into notepad or something you don’t even need to take a book.
Are there more things planned in the future that would encourage further book reading? Two ideas that come to mind:
Reading the book on He Clan lets us be more passive-aggressive with He Jun**
Reading the book on Devil Breakouts unlocks more dialogue option/texts on mission 3, since we’re more familiar with what exactly is going on with the Artist.
Also, I find it curious that the books available to us are described as “The collection of works by Yang Chen, the most prolific and well-known author in the Celestial Empire” but the one on alchemy is from He Wong, who, unless there’s a completely different He clan running about***, is from the same clan that Yang Chen dedicated an entire book to roasting. While it’s possible that it’s just a misfile, or someone decided that the book was informative enough to put it with Yang Chen’s writings and couldn’t be bothered to add “(and one book from He Wong)” to the group name, I think it’s funnier to imagine that Yang Chen was just really tsundere for the He Clan
*Can we not ask the librarian to search for the books and come back the next day to get all of them at once? Even if the librarian is too proud to do so, as a YM we should be used to ordering people to do things for us-seems like it should be an option to just ask.

If you try to purchase the books you can still only purchase two a day.
That’s why I said “just ask” and “be used to”. Nothing about actually succeeding. The bit about being a YM is just to show that the MC should be familiar with the concept of asking others perceived as hired help to do things for them to save time. Besides, this is just asking for books to be located and reserved for later pick-up, that’s hardly a noble right, or something that requires fame and reputation. I can go to my local library’s website and do the same thing right now.

u are right is not a noble right but is a right that is not reserved for inner or outer disciple but people beyond like envoy,core or prime disciple, like take the senior that gives us wish fulfilment tea, it was stated that he has many resources due to his current posistion while our mc have none because we are still in a low posistion to request such a thing and haven’t gotten a higher posistion in the sect, so when we do rank up maybe things will change

reading books to just be angry doesn’t make sense, we can just do that and having devil break out book to open more dialogue options, is not possible since that book was just talking about devil break outs that easy to understand while the book that talk about alchemy it already covers the info on drugs with devil break out included

Arghhhhh, The books are great to read, adds lore and makes the world more clear to those who want to know about it, and in time, They’ll write about us.

Bruh how do u know the person we are trying to free is even good, like a person was just sealed in a volcano and up till this point none of the tribe we have met and interacted with explained much of the person we are trying to free, only that they are from our world and are considered a god in this one, and from experience of people calling someone a god, then that person might have done something incredible good or extremely evil or through manipulation to gain this kind of worship
Mate, I am referring to the memory that we watched our Mother die by a fcking axe to the face of a bandit, while he took our sister by the head to somewhere even worse, The old man I’m referring to is the warted one in the memories who read our head, probably saw our potential in demon arts cause we wanted fcking vengeance for our family, I didn’t even mention anything about the volcano God, didn’t even mention anything about freeing. As for the debate whether or not the Volcano God is good or not, I don’t know the details yet, will wait for the new update to get more details.

I think the current theory is that those memories were from MC’s past life (possibly Tang Wei’s) but it’s still not confirmed.
Although I will be shocked if that’s not what happening.

Exactly, he felt like it was his, but at the same time foreign, would explain why we have several others that look like us, probably split souls. Man, I love the theories~
How would locating books in advance be an envoy-level privilege? The librarians already offer to search for books if we can’t find them or make copies so we can take them with us. This is asking them to look for books-a service they provide-and making copies if needed-also a service they already provide- and then coming back later so we can purchase more than 2 books all at once. Passive-aggressive isn’t angry, it’s sarcastic. We already have cause to be pissed at them, given they kidnapped us and it’s heavily implied that Uncle Tao lost his wife in the resulting conflict. This just lets us be snarky about it by quoting a scholar. If we just complain about it, He Jun can claim we’re just being biased due to that one incident/our age making us immature, but by pointing to the fact that Yang Chen was willing to publish a book calling out the He Clan we can point out that everyone thinks the He Clan are dicks.
