Instead of making them happen automatically you could make it like in War for the West when anytime there was an event, the game notified you about it but it let the player to decide to do it or not
There only so much you can to make the cheat mode balanced honestly.
True
You already can skip most of the stuff that I don’t consider mandatory. It’s just you miss out on a lot of content that way, which is not good lolol
I dont really know about if that would be a problem.
As a godmode enjoyer, there are still somethings I never got around to fully see, namelly all the library books; up until now, I thought all of them were just lore, but I just discovered that you can only know that guy was being set up if youve read both the alchemy and the plant book, something I just always did by pure chance simply because I did it in my first run.
Not only that but, with the new stat and exp system, you cant really max out your stats from the start even in godmode, so there is now an incentive to train, even if its only to make the big numbers get bigger (no shame in that). It would also remove some of the “minmaxing” you still kinda have to do.
Checks should definitely be lowered to more appropriately match the exp costs. Like in the second quests there were checks that required stats to be at 400, if the check is in 40 there is no reality that is even feasible. Even just 20 with the current set up is probably impossible since that would require a thousand exp even when going full in on that stat
There are no 40 checks
Those are scaled down to about 18/19.
Post your stats when you get to the expo / as well as say whether you failed missions/quests. Will need some data to balance things around.
Though, I will be adding more ‘free roam’ events + stronger/better alchemy to enhance training
If those are lowered to 18-19 I do recommend lowering bit for poison resistance lol, you even lowered a earlier 300 con check to 15 but left the 200 vit at 20
I’ll try to go through and see if I can complete stuff with the enlarged costs. Get back to you in a bit
Haven’t played the update yet, so I can’t comment on it but even in the last update I’d have liked more free time to, mainly, grind sect points
Loving the game so far but I’ve noticed a few things
First the regeneration perk seems a little useless. If your vitaility is maxed out you heal pretty fast anyways like you can heal up to half your health at max vitality in between fights
And so far I haven’t the seen the regeneration perk activate during any fight. It’s not really worth the cost in exp to invest in both vitiality and regeneration if regeneration doesn’t happen during a fight
Also one bug I found is that during the middle of my fight with Tang Ruo in the tourney match my constintution was reset to level 1 in the middle of the fight. It only happened in one playthrough and I think it’s because of the Phoenix Paste that I got from MeiMei that’s the only thing I did different in that run. My guess is that the Phoenix paste or interacting with her should give you an increase of +1 to Constitution based on how it says it improves your condition. But an error in the code probably resets your constitution to level 1 instead of increasing it.
nicky PLEASE why must you introduce a new ball-breaking system just after I have mastered the old one I have still not been able to defeat tang ruo without the robe on mortal mode it is pain.
anyways I have some feedback (nothing urgent, would honestly advise you to bookmark it and maybe work on it later when you have the full draft of the story. is much more a QoL/attention to small details type of feedback than urgent one):
-
the tang ruo scene while very cool and epic and having many swords does not have much else going for it. you should add a conversation with tang ruo at the end of his fight for more meat to that part. the conversation itself could also change depending on what the MC has been up to (tang ruo shows respect for MCs massive nuts if he bragged about killing the demon queens sons, he compares his fight to the MCs other arena fights if he partook in them, maybe we can discuss that one pissy disciple who made us fight three guys).
-
the beginning of the expedition scene is very abrupt. it would benefit a lot if there was a scene which built it up (hyping up the day when it comes, showing the MC boarding some big fuck off animal to fly it there, it could even be like the sect admission flight where we have a choice to talk to one of the characters in our party)
-
if you rejected elder roidjunkie bohan because you want to train under another master and were told of elder shouzi as you were flown to the tourney in the prologue the game should bring it up. maybe you could also put in the option for the mc to say he wants to work for elder shouzi and write bohans reaction as you would see fit.
-
the option to punch mei mie in the face when she asks us to kill long chen (i would ofc never do so as I am honorable and noble and would never harm a lady) ((ok I would))
Get to after the sect and check out ‘skills’ during fights =)
Wait what, there’s a scene where you board the mosquito? Or does it not appear?
LMAO
I’m sorry
Wait how much CON did you have before?
no no, the mosquito scene appears when you go to the sect for the first time. I was using it as an exmaple to say that having that type of introductory scene for the expedition would make it flow smoother. as of now it just happens very abruptly. and if youve already put in that scene then I have not found it neither during gameplay and code-diving.
I had the max so 10 I just retested it and it happened even when I didn’t talk to MeiMei it just started doing this
Do you have the robe / does it get destroyed?
Aight, I hear you
The robe didn’t get destroyed but I took it off to fight Tang Ruo
That’s it! Will fix it in a bit
I just felt like I played I just played
BATTLE THROUGH THE HEAVEN
Thought the cheat mode only really holds up until the need to spend Contribution points to train for Exp and the poison incident costs you some stats
I was honestly expecting a cheat menu to alter the Exp amount and Gold, that kind of thing
But I love It so far all the same
I think it’s now impossible to beat Tang Ruo in the tournament. I tried at Human difficulty with random rolls, then at Heaven difficulty with fixed rolls, and it seems the 7 Constitution check to see if he breaks your leg will always fails, which in turns means there’s no way to tank the ensuing damage, even if you started at full health and succeed at the least punishing roll afterward.
Wait, I noticed the problem : I think deciding to remove the robe just before the fight drops your Constitution to 0.
Anyway, going through the various changes, and so far it’s pretty fun!
Fixed it!
But you can pass this with the robe without CON
It’s not impossible, I get through quite easily with 10 str, con, and vit. Agility and strength are likely interchangable here, took off the cloak for the fight and got through. And yes I did this with mortal
