Lady Butterfly poses herself as a “I really want to reach Nascent Soul” route, and even then - she is so untrustworthy it’s actually insane.
Like, we had one event with her and she contradicted herself through all of it.
The worst part of it, for me at least, is that you are not really sure what part of all she says is true. Before we would have some minimal confirmations here and there, depending how hard would you look for one. With her - there is quite literally nothing.
I don’t believe she is Tang Wei’s “student”. He just never gave that vibe, the only way for me to believe this if it turns out he got her very early in his journey and had a very quick falling off.
Maybe she is like those golem people in the danger zone? Someone to keep him company? We don’t really know how she looks so can’t add anything to that.
I dunno, I just prefer Yichen with his Empire because at least I know what to expect. Sure he doesn’t have all the answers, and Lady Butterfly is obviously not Shen Long Mu, but it’s fine - we gonna figure that out together.

The only way for most of us to trust lady butterfly is to have one of those memory dreams about her or something close to that. Without that it’s really hard to take anything she says at face value when it took like 5 people dying for her to even appear

It’s interesting coincidence that Shen Long Mu, the supposed threat that will obliterate MC’s world, just happens to be referred to as “a butterfly”.
And Lady Butterfly’s reaction when you bring up that Shen Long Mu in the talk with her is quite interesting, too…
Hmm, as in, Shen Long Mu is the Calamity who was, perhaps unintentionally, woken up due to Butterfly’s schemes, insolence etc? I suppose this is a possibility, too. It would maybe even fit Butterfly’s reaction to hearing about Shen Long Mu a bit better, than it actually being her and just playing dumb.
I don’t think this is the case. If you talk with Yichen instead of rebels, he’s pretty much convinced that Lady Butterfly is the person who is going to destroy the world, the way he saw it in his vision that made him super-charge Ruo with the dragon shit in a bid to prevent that.

to me it read like two different entities. The Butterfly who hid and schemed and some motherly Calamity that has now awoken.
I dunno how important the names are, but Shen Long Mu basically translates as Dragon God, which reads very funny in the context of Yichen killing all the dragons in this realm, something that not even Tang Wei did.
I will just assume Lady Butterfly was the one who contacted Yichen and went “Hey, wouldn’t it be funny if you just filled your grandson with dragon souls? Just a thought”. For what reason? I have no idea.
Summary
My best guess is that she needs Ruo for some sort of ritual. Perhaps she needs the protagonist (probably the reason you mother escaped and begged Wu Chao to not give you back), Ruo (let’s pretend her telling Yichen to do all that is actually true) and Caihong ( the last living dragon in this realm)
Maybe its another grasp for power? Maybe she just wants to see the world burn? Honestly I can’t come up with anything at this point - will need to see more
Yeah I got nothing on this. Despite both parties having a lot to say I really have no idea what’s the endgame here - will just wait for more content and hope the answers will get clearer.

Bro, just sided with Rogues, Kill He clan and Tang Clan, then other Great Nobles after that Kill the Rogues after clean up the remaining great Nobles, Ascend to Nascent Soul
Then just said Gladly to Xiwen joining Rogues then After meet Dreamweaver Go to Tangs and ask for “what’s in it for me” to Yichen and get Qi Stone , 5 Qi from Dreamweaver and another 5 Qi from Tang Yichen
Just join side which more beneficial, Exploit Rogues Resources and Tang Resources then hopefully at the end of the books (Finale) You Gain both sides resources then advance to Nascent Soul or maybe if you don’t want to then why not just Unite the Continent Under Wu Clan Flag ?

So, what is the point of joining rogues in this scenario? Because none of the benefits you list come from them. I.e. they give you nothing. Dreamweaver dream and bonus happens even if you’re neutral, and only Tangs give you the stone reward.
Btw, getting the same stone twice is a bug in the game, enjoy it while it lasts.

Finally got to finish the update (well, the premium ver) and I trust Lady Butterfly even less now. He gang showing up with the ability to use qi really sets off my red flags about Lady Butterfly, the rouges and who or what they’re willing to use to get to their goal. If Gramps has been watching us for as long as he has, I’m sure he would know and understand why doing such a thing would kill their chances of recruiting Wu Heir. Doesn’t help that Yinchen does say that she’s been luring cultivators with promises of power.
That being said, I doubt Lady Butterfly is Shen Long Mu. I think Shen Long Mu would be a consequence of the bullshit both sides are on. Too busy fighting each other to realise that they’re creating a bigger fuckup. I do believe that Lady Butterfly is trying to enter POMA’s world for the all you can eat buffet created left behind by Tang Wei. Even if she’s lying, her being Tang Wei’s student or even saying she was is a huge red flag knowing how fucked up he was. Using his dead wife’s name is major red flag no.2 especially knowing Tang Wei’s feelings about his wife’s death. The rebels are easy puppets.
