Found one more error message.

Summary

Thanks for flagging! That’s (fortunately?) the last screen right now and the next is just ‘thanks for playing’ - not sure how I introduced this one though.

This was great! Love the horror, both from the actual superpowers, and the non-powered flashback. Looking forward to learning more about the protag’s past and the Coven!

This wip really stands out! Each replay feels substantially different. Can’t wait to see more!

All in time  Thank you!

Thanks! I was pushing hard to have a lot of differences, and though it was difficult to keep track of at times, it’s rewarding to see in action.

Is the game supposed to end after the meeting with the new members? the choice that says “there’s no warning” just continuously loads no matter what choice i choose before it

That’s the end point: it’s supposed to go to a finish screen so I’m not sure why it’s hanging there!

Hello, this is the only and most beautiful secretary that is absolutely not a togepi stuck in its shell, here is the results for the polls with commentary:

Found a bug, if I decide to train on the padlock my subterfuge skill doesn’t go up, may be related to the fact the minor skill boost I choose in the flashback was also subterfuge but hard to know.

The writing is quite good and drew me in right away!

Just got done reading and I’m already in love with this story. First the MC being kinda like a symbiote version of tem-v, but done in a unique and interesting way pulled me in from the start as venom is my favorite comic book villain. Then you threw the horror/character trauma and I just can’t resist if I wanted to. I personally love gory and traumatic games, but I also like to get so stressed out playing a game of D&D that I go to work for a break. So maybe I’m just weird but this is like the ultimate WIP in my interests right now.

Thank you for both the compliment and the bug report!

It has absolutely nothing to do with me straight up not adding the line of code to actually increase subterfuge. Certainly not. shifty eyes

Don’t worry I’m maximum weird, so you’re in good company here. Thanks for reading!

bug report! game refuses to load (just a constant loading bar and never moves on) after choosing where you want to go (e.g library, pasta investigation) after you meet the other villains??? really crushed because I was really enjoying it!! but game just won’t let me past that point no matter what I do

Thanks for the report! I think I messed something up in the startup file. It should be fixed now.

The good/bad news was that you had almost reached the end of the demo. Here is the part you missed; I’d hate for you to replay the entire thing to that point for a single extra screen! Glad to hear you’re enjoying though.

#I might just keep walking. Get a better feel for the streets.
Improving your knowledge of the city can't hurt—
#There's a public library somewhere around here.
Books and internet. A perfect combination—
#Time to investigate the pasta mystery.
You're still concerned about the random drop on your doorstep—
*if (pasta) #Time to 'investigate' the mystery pasta. (Eat it. I'm going to eat it).
You're hungry. You have pasta. The solution is simple—
    #I could use a rest. @{injured My injuries will thank me for it.|}
Catching your breath is probably a good idea—

*finish There's no warning.

A blow clubs you straight in the back of the head. Two more in almost the same instant. You spill to the ground, attempting to raise your hands in defence.

It's futile. A kick slams into your ribs. A second. A third.

A three step rhythm. You know what's happening. You know who is happening.

Your assailant grabs a fistful of your shirt and hauls you bodily to your feet before pinning you against the nearest wall. A forearm grinds into your throat, choking you.

Now you're facing your attacker, but you could have described him before ever seeing him. He's so very familiar.

Deep brown skin. Eyes so dark they're almost black. Shaven head. A grin gleaming with wild malice.

"Hello, little ${mc_sibling}."

Little ${mc_sibling}. How many times have you heard that?

Generally, I can take or leave super hero/super power WIPs, but I really enjoyed this read. A nice, diverse cast of characters so far. MC’s powers are interesting. I appreciate the fact that their piwers don’t make them an “ultimate weapon” like I have seen in some other WIPs, it makes the MC so much more relatable. Looking forward to seeing how the interpersonal relationships will develop.

Writing update
Chapter 4 is coming along great! Most of the way to done in wordcount, though a fair bit of testing will be required. For that reason, I can’t say exactly when it will be released other than that I’d like it to be Soon ™

In the meantime, please enjoy this sneak peak of a possible upcoming interaction.

Summary
On the one hand, that was ridiculous. On the other, you kind of have to admire the guts.

In any case, there CG goes, and now you won't know when you'll see or speak to her next.
*choice
#Just as well, if she's going to be evasive.
#Huh. Am I actually going to miss our check ins?
#I think she's genuinely concerned about me. There's a first.
**#For some reason, her protectiveness brings a heat to my cheeks.**

CG doesn't open up to you. Or so far as you know, anyone. In that regard, it's stranger that the conversation reached the point it did than that she skipped out on its conclusion. Your relationship has always centred around her drilling you mercilessly, an unforgiving and exacting instructor. There's a reason for your disdain towards her. The best you can say is that she spares praise where it's due and yeah, you suppose you can begrudgingly admit that she has a sense of humour.

Yet here she is showing genuine concern for your well-being. Implying that she wants to look out for you, and with a level of care that goes beyond just mission control.

That makes you feel a certain kind of way.

And it is absolutely humiliating. Getting flustered over CG? Seriously, Morgan? What the fuck.

Those emotions are going into the box of shame right the hell now.

Paradigm can be little a tsundere, as a treat.
