(WIP) Drink Your Villain Juice! (Superpowers, Horror | 356k) Updated 12th May 2025

This game is great. I gotta say thanks to the title I had imagined something completely different so I’m glad I gave it a chance anyway, it was way better than I expected, probably one of my favorite wips right now and def the one I’ll buy as soon as it comes out.

This got me thinking so I will give it my best shot.

The first answer that springs to mind is that the name “Coven” refers to some kind of occult element, which may be the source of the juice. However, I don’t feel as if that fully covers what’s going on, instead, I think it may refer to a “working group” that collaborates on a shared project (in this case the juice or whatever the juice is a byproduct of). This would in turn imply that Hypothesis is not acting alone, but is one head of the hydra for this larger organization. This could also explain the discrepancy in the naming conventions, as the more scientific names spring from Hypothesis directly, whereas Coven exists beyond him.

This could also be one theory for the identities of Dion and Mallory, as they could be agents from another Coven sect trying to muscle in on Hypothesis’ turf. But currently, I am leaning toward them being

Semi-rogue DPR agents deployed to break the stalemate between the hounds and DPR and/or to investigate Coven/The Zone

Also unrelated but I feel the need to share the theory that:

Alistair is Ranger! Note: this theory is based almost solely on vibes as they are both the goodest boys and is it truly a supervillain IF if you can’t horribly maim your romantic interests

Very interesting! Out of curiosity would you rank the rest of the ROs (+Dion (I am desperately trying to read the vibes off this man)).

Thanks for the great work and community engagement!

Public update

This is now available on dashingdon!

Have also pushed a few small fixes/tweaks to earlier chapter, and you can now skip to chapter 5.

I adjusted the Juice calculations and now it definitely shouldn’t be possible to run dry before confronting the Hounds; fingers crossed I got it right this time!

Already devoured it. I enjoyed it very much. Love how fucked up my Dime is. Thanks for mentally unstable hobo villain!

Glad to subvert expectations! I appreciate the support.

Super here for the theorising  Always great to see what players are thinking.

I wouldn’t be so cruel, would I?

Haha just kidding… unless?

This gets complicated as they each have differing lines, and it’s hard to explain in detail without starting to spoil. It also depends on how one ranks certain scruples, if that makes sense. There’s some stuff that bothers Mal that doesn’t bother Dion, but the reverse is also true. (if you look closely, there are some hints about this particular contrast…)

Ranking goes something like this:

Alistair
Wil
Kay
Mal
Dion
CG
Teddie

It’s funny cause I hadn’t actively thought about Teddie being the most morally dubious before but he kinda is. It’s not giving a damn about others rather than active malice but I’m not sure that wins him any points.

Neat demo,I really enjoy some of the reactivity the game has, however around reporting to dion in chapter 3 it breaks with the error output of "firstcaper line 1849 Non-existent variable ‘patrolhelp’

I get this error no matter what i choose

Thanks! Can you try refreshing with ctrl + F5? If that doesn’t work, you may need to restart the current playthrough, I’m afraid. I added a new variable because the debrief wasn’t working properly, but if the site is still loading the previous version, it needs to be cycled.

The saves arent working anymore so i needed to start over but it does let me continue now

The saves stopped working

ah good grief, this is what I get for bugfixing tired.

I’ve re-re-uploaded the correct startup.

I was thinking on the news article bit in the story.

Dime: “Yep, Im part of the rule 34 tentacle fetish now. Thanks for showing me that link Mal.”

Love this story.

Finished, love it!

Dime wiggling tentacles at Kay after the creepy convo. Awesomesauce!

Edit: My nodes are still alive and well once reach safe house. Do I get to pet mine and Priis fleshlings there? I never got to use them in battles.

Really love the new update! The pacing and flow feel very good; the short flashbacks fit perfectly. And, as always, the fight scenes are super exciting and fun!

Also I love the nickname Surpass gives to mutations Dime. I went with “Maw” as my villain name so getting called “Chompy” felt even more fitting lol

I, too, ate this update up (literally, with Vantage’s baton :stuck_out_tongue: )

Few points-
• In the fight with Vantage, if you have Wild Mutation, use it early in the fight, and eat Vantage’s baton, she still has and can use it through the rest of the fight- additionally afterwards there are some points where it seems as if we haven’t mutated, ex. the net dropping felt like we should have been able to notice it sooner with all our extra eyes rather than being caught off guard by it.
• Also with Vantage, it would be nice if we had an option to catch her when the sinkhole opens up, for those Dimes who really don’t want to even badly injure anyone- really not an important thing, but I thought it could be a neat little moment to express our character’s humanity (or lack thereof)

Finally, a little theory I had about Pasta Guy- I thought Alistair might be Arcade, if he’s secretly any of the masks we’ve met so far. Ranger seems a bit too out-there imo but Arcade seems to match his personality reasonably well (from what I know of him). Either way I want more of Alistair lol

You can check if shes alive. Its confirmed she isn’t.

I had my nodes ready but never got used. Plus I think they only can be used if on the losing stretch?

I went with 3 motions that I’m great at than using my power. Surpass wants to fight you secondary to Dion. Wonder how that would go. As I only tried to assist others getting away mostly, not actually fight her. My little fleshlings didn’t get used once. I may go back to use them in a different path. Meet my cuddly little fleshlings. Dont mind their ‘love’ bites.

sdsds I tried not to say it directly but uhhhhh

Good point! There’s a little bit of downtime after the mission in the next update, and I should definitely work the nodes into it.

Thank you! I was hoping the pacing felt OK; it’s easy to lose sight of how it feels to play through action sequences when they’re so intricate. It comes across to me that it’s gonna be a long drag cause it takes a long time to write.

Also that’s fantastic XD. Poor Dime getting hero sassed.

Hm… I might have either been unclear in wording or messed up some code. Vantage has two batons, and I set it up that subsequent text is supposed to reflect if you’ve eaten/broken one. It’s mostly quite subtle, but I did try to keep track, cause that’s the kind of thing that bothers me XD.

I’ll note the mutations thing as something to review down the line, as I do want to make sure it’s properly reflective. There’s a couple of places where the eyes make a difference, but I agree there could be a few more mentions.

I’m probably not going to be able to include this just cause of how the sinkhole stuff is structured; I’d have to splice in another choiceblock and that’d interact weirdly with what’s there at present. I included the ‘she’s not dead, right?’ option as a nod towards that kind of Dime, though, and I’m intending to have more choices further on that let players place themselves on that type of spectrum.

Oh that’s a fun theory! scribble scribble

Alistair isn’t going to be around in person this chapter, but there will be an opportunity to give him a call right at the end.

Yeah it’s possible to chart a path where you don’t use the nodes. They can’t really help with Vantage; I might down the line add one more option of trying to make use of them against her, but I felt like it’d be a bit of a trap choice because it just wouldn’t work (she’d predict them too easily).

Currently:

  • If Vantage beats you up, the nodes can distract her.
  • Against Portrait, there’s a nodes option if you attack his constructs.
  • There’s an adaptable improviser + nodes option against the Hounds trio.
  • If you flee from Surpass, you can use the nodes as a decoy.

Once written out fully, fighting Surpass will also feature at least one nodes choice. (carapace and mutation too, while we’re on the sybject).

They are my favorites, as CG called them, fleshlings. I kinda dont want to try those paths. Plus I taste what they bite. I rather not try to taste/eat people. Unless I do villian path! Eat everything you can my little fleshling minions! Just dont act like those yellow fleshlings.
