(WIP) Drink Your Villain Juice! (Superpowers, Horror | 356k) Updated 12th May 2025

I don’t think dashingdon can preserve saves when full new chapters are added, so you’d need to restart.

Edit: However, I am looking into setting up a manual skip ahead so full replays aren’t required with each update. There are a lot of wiggly underlying variables though so it might not be for a few builds yet.

Thank you! I appreciate this a lot. I believe I’ve sorted the wimpression thing for the next/patreon build, as it was mentioned before, and I just so happened to coincidentally run into the weirdness you mentioned when testing earlier so it should be fixed too! (basically, I neglected to change the variable which indicates the ‘route’ the flashback ended on, so the game gets confused and describes a version of the scene which didn’t happen)

Also, Macready was a fully intentional reference

Plus, if you take the preset names in the same order they’re shown, that gives you a protagonist called Morgan Macready and I felt the alliteration was very comic books.

I would love it if there was a reaction from the MC when using the name Dime as a pseudonym to hide his real name, and I would also like to have more reactions to the MC’s peculiarities, such as his almost dead and white eyes (including, the first time we meet Wil, there is the option to stare, this moment would be perfect for Wil to feel uncomfortable because of the MC’s eyes lol)

but other than that, I’m loving this game, it vaguely reminds me of Fallen Hero even hehehe

might want to add something when inputing names because i end up with same name with kay (went in game blind) https://forum.choiceofgames.com/t/coding-name-reactions/92376

Ooh. That’ll go on the list. It didn’t occur to me that somebody might use Dime there. It would make sense to block that!

I’m aiming to include more references to the MC’s unusual feature as the story progresses. In Wil’s case, I did consider a reaction, but they live with a bone man and a sheepgirl, so I figured strange eyes probably wouldn’t fase them too much.

(Kay’s eyes look something like this, for the record)

Thank you for the suggestion! I do know how to include this code, I’m mostly just hesitant because there are four different opportunities to input names (name, nickname, mask name, alias) and I’d already started going down a rabbit hole with name-specific coding. I’ll consider expanding the coverage in the future, but it won’t be for a while yet.

Regarding the MCs distinctive feature, could you maybe post a reference for the eyes? White hair is easy, the scars and stuff are pretty clear, but I can’t quite figure out what the eyes are supposed to look like

Imagine something a little on these lines, but more washed out, less stark and matte. Colour contacts like in this image don’t quite capture the look because they’re so uniform.

To my mind, the unsettling element of pale eyes MC is that eyes just don’t naturally look like that: blind eyes often sort of ‘mist over’, and other defects tend to affect the pupils too. Theirs look like the color drained out.

I almost had pictured like cataracts, so it sounds like I was in the right direction with it being washed out/hazy

Chapter 5 (part one) - Public release!

This is now out on dashingdon!

I’ve started work on implementing a chapter skip function. So far I’ve only got it set up to chapter 3 (after the flashback), and it does seem to be working, but there may be a little jank. Still, it’ll let you jump ahead if you’re tired of running through those first chapters every time you play

General update
Naturally I took a couple of days off to get married

I’m vibing with the rest of CH5 pretty hard. A couple of later sections have really grown legs into some fun character stuff, and we’re currently sitting pretty at 38k (another 8k on top of the live update). This doesn’t push back CH6 or anything: Villain Juice!'s chapters are laid out organisationally rather than by size, and CH5 is just turning out to be a long one. The actual writing pace is the same. Hope that makes sense, it’s a bit of a ramble.

Stay awesome, everyone.

Found a bug

Shouldn’t this be rampage?

Nah - Rampage called Teddie by his actual name when she really shouldn’t have, and he’s correcting her.

Thanks for posting it though, I missed a speech mark!

Oh, damn that didn’t register as an issue to me

Yo author with the new update shouldn’t it show ur game in first as it’s recently updated but when I open it shows different games just curious how this dashingdon works  shouldn’t latest games show rather than others instead which are past updated hmm
Anyone know why it’s like that

Update was again amazing! Your work is fantastic!

Really enjoyed the update. Did another playthrough and got this error.

Summary

Encountered it when selecting - oh no option.

Noticed a variable error in the section where social media and the internet is loving us after the fight with Mis/Hit and one of the posts refers to MC as their first name, not their mask name.

Thank you! I can’t say enough how much folks’ kind words mean to me.

I have no idea how dashingdon organises that, to be honest

Thanks for flagging! This is a weird one; the variable on that line is definitely created as a number and the code is numeric too. I wasn’t able to replicate it. Do you remember how specifically you interacted with Alistair leading up to that point?

I had a look through the segment and it might be a clarity issue on my part. The bit where MC’s first name is mentioned is where MC reflecting back on comments talking about them in the AdVenture days:

@{(publicattitude = 5) Even so, you’re|You’re} suddenly a public figure in a way you never were for AdVenture. There you’d occasionally see a comment or two directed your way:

a number of different reactive comments can go here, depending on various elements of MC’s appearance/skills

Basically, you have to personally tell the platform you have updated your story.

After you press that button, your story should be pushed back to the top of the pile.

Oh! Tunnel vision strikes again! I only ever read the tweet line.

Well, thank you for pointing it out, I will do that with updates in future

Hi yo do you know if their other way to check recent updated game in dashingdon rather than the way it normally shows like we open it and shows updated games :face_with_raised_eyebrow:?
the screenshot thing you shared is it only accessible to content creators?
