[WIP] demons like you and I: a dark horror fantasy romance *updated profiles*

I just learned how to implement a save system myself (with some help from Lidell). There’s a thread on it here as well. It’s simpler than I expected, but the command that allows saving isn’t recognized by randomtest and quicktest, so you have to delete or *comment it out whenever you want to use those, and then remember to reset it once you’re done with testing.

This is fantastic! Thank you so much!

Ooooh, horror and romance. Now you are speaking to my soul. I love the demo. I’m sure it will turn out great. ^^

Thanks so much!

I’ll upload this into the main summary when my trust level increases, but I made a header for the game today  I don’t know if there’s too much going on, but I tried going for a creepy fairytale vibe, and well, it didn’t turn out so creepy.

The people (/person) on it are (is?) one of the fae you meet in after you cross dimensions.

What do you guys think?

Those are pretty good! Gives me kind of a stargazing feeling, don’t know if that was intentional or not but I like it. 3 is probably my favorite version, I like the lighter/darker contrast.

i like them as well! i can sense the creepiness, although it also gives off a sort of mystical vibe, if that’s also what you were going for. the third one is also my favourite as well!

Hi to you both - sorry for the late reply! This is where the demo ends right now, sorry for the confusion! I should have made it more clear.
I’m working on the next chapter (though I’m taking time out right now to focus on an exam), but if you do find any bugs or errors with punctuation, syntax, flow etc, please do let me know, and I’ll get to fixing them on my return.
And thank you all for playing

I’m looking forward to the next update! I just read it and really enjoyed your writing and the texting feature was pretty cool! I like how you handled the texting; it’s very smooth.

Looking forward to the word puzzles too! Was really excited when I noticed that though I tend to be awful at them!

Thank you so much for your feedback! I’m glad you’re enjoying it so far! And I’m hoping that the clues are just about cryptic enough to be fun to figure out but not too annoying

I have a problem I’ve been mulling over for a long time, and I’m just going to go on and put a poll out about it here.
I’ve planned 5 romances: 2 male, 2 female, with one character who is male or female depending on player choice. Should I do this for all of the characters? It is completely possible, and I don’t think it will take away from the characterisation at all - a lot like how it’s done in Wayhaven!

What do people prefer in games, generally?

  • Genderlocked characters bar one (2 female, 2 male, 1 male or female)
  • Gender for all characters dependent on player preference (player chooses whether they are attracted to men, women, bi, pan or none)
  • Gender selection for each character individually.

I know it’s easier to decide with character profiles, which I am yet to update the top post with (I will get on this as soon as I can )

If anyone has any other ideas, I’ll be happy to hear them too!

And thank you for helping me make my game better & more immersive!

YOOOOOOOO…

This just made my curly hair go DEAD STRAIGHT.

I’m scared of this game. On a real. SCARED.

That’s how good it is. The little messages found in this…you got me in GOOSEBUMPS. I’m rubbing my arms right now.

I’ll wait until you finish this to play it. I don’t want to ruin this experience at all.

…wow.

I usually like it better when characters genders are based on our sexuality, since there are way more options for us and we can choose to romance based on personality  feels much more fun, and i always like seeing the subtle differences of the characters based around their gender!

Ooh, this is super interesting, not to mention creepy! Very many error pages though.

Thank you! I’m really glad you like it so far! I hope you like the crazy ride that’s coming up too  this is just the very beginning though, and the rest of the game has quite a different vibe compared to now, just to let you know.

Thank you! I think that’s what most people think as well, and I agree, it does give everyone more options

Thank you! Creepy was definitely the goal so I’m glad you think so! And thank you for your feedback - yes there are a lot of dead ends right now!
A lot of it, I just haven’t gotten round to writing yet, but if you find an option that doesn’t have (not written) clearly written next to it, it probably means that it’s a coding error, and I’d be really grateful if you could let me know where you found it!

Thank you so much for playing
