Is there going to be a segment where we can increase our clan lands/renow/infrastructure?
I designed that segment with sequels in mind but there will absolutely be Clan focused interactions with losses/gains for prestige, reputation, and clan assets this game.
very cool game, very nice premise. I prostrate myself before cultivator-anon to offer my awe and respect and also present him with a list of bugs and suggestions and general questions:
-
the sabretooth cloak offers 1 in fortitude instead of 1 in power like it is supposed to do.
-
from my understanding humans are just asians and lunargoths are white people from the moon. seems weird if you are a lunargoth but your twins have asian sounding names, implying they were given human names. i dont know if this is something to be fixed in the future or if this was intended, just thought that I would point it out.
-
meditating on the justification of force in the temple bricks the game. there is not even an error displayed, it just stops working. I noticed that this bug only takes place if your ruthless is greater than 60 AND you choose to bone the pretty shrinemaiden lady who was eyefucking you.
-
there are a few things wrong with a specific line of code for romance values. the part during the fang fight where you ask her if she is alright sets the fangromance trait to 1 instead of incrementing it by 1.
-
question. what is the difference between an NPC having their core activated and having a lot of martial arts training? I noticed those are two seperate flags for jin during the fight with the big ghoul thing at the temple.
I enjoyed reading this and look forward to seeing how it develops
One thing i would like to see is more opportunities to customize our pc’s personality and outlook on things(both in the parts to come and whats already been written). Of course writing pc personalities well and in a way that allows players to really make the mc their own can be some of the most difficult aspects of making an IF so i understand why the wip is as lean as it is in regards to this aspect considering the time frame you created this in(205k words in 9 months is pretty impressive).
Do you have to be a man to get the shrine maiden encounter? I remember people talking about it, but I haven’t even encountered her in my run. Or is it just tied to style / personality / origin?
Also, suggestion. Would there be an option to choose more chinese names for, say, races? Yaoguai instead of yokai, shashen instead of, say, oni? Or are such different names heavily lore-based?
Seems the game is more Japan inspired than China inspired, both countries share a lot of Eastern Fantasy lore but the naming conventions are pretty different, with Yaoguai being distinctively chinese for exemple.
It would be weird to have Yaoguai while also keeping distinctively Japanese terms like Shinobi and Fuuinjutsu IMO.
We have a Rival named Jack, I don’t think most people gonna care about this stuff.
Just treat it like Samurai of Hyuga I guess
What I mean is that this game is obviously a mix of all the cool stuff the author could think of, so trying to make a clear case where it’s only japanese or chinese mythology would be weird at this point of development.
Sure it’s jarring, but I think if you just flow with it - it’s going to be fine.
I did care about that actually, Jack’s name immediately made me question and theorize that he might have Lunargoth heritage, most probably on his mother’s side.
Like European-like stuff is integrated and acknowledged in game with lore reasons, it’s not just thrown in there randomly, which I appreciate.
Sure, most people won’t care about most stuff but I like small details like that.
Oh, I wasn’t talking about exact mythology, as I said both actually share a lot, I was just saying that they both have different terms for the same thing and so far, in term of where MC is concerned, Japanese terms have been used consistently more so it would be better to keep chinese terminology for another character / another region just like Lunargoth have their own terms if that make sense.

Seems like I missed something big.
It might’ve been because of me cause another one of my post got flagged but the reason for it doesn’t make sense. It got flagged for “advertisement” stuff when what I posted was nowhere near being an advertisement. I think someone just didn’t like whatever I posted and decided to make a big deal about it when I already responded to someone else that I already stopped talking about it.
Guys, stop.
Refocus on the game and take outside discussion to DMs.
Thanks!
I don’t know if this is a bug it said that a tuning my Element could take 2 to 4 months and I had three months left in the year, but even though I had three months left in the year, I couldn’t attune my element
Absolutely love the idea, will be checking it out soon. All the best for your endeavor.
Same for me. Upgrading certain skills took three months instead of one, like it was shown to be.
You need 4 months to start that training because while it’s true you can finish it in 2 months, depending on your choices, it might take the full 4 months. That’s why you need 4 months to start it.
OK cool now I understand how that works that’s why I said I wasn’t sure if it was a bug or not because it could’ve just been me not understanding what was going on
@vera you would have to be a man, yes. And good catch on the skill months! I shortened in text and missed it in code. Race names are pretty locked in but if you ever run into isolated hardlined-Cathayan settlements it would be funny to have them use their own names for it. I’ll toss it on the neat idea list.
@Phantomblade in the future I’ll probably add a way to simply get expelled from the training so you can try to fit it into 2-3 months when you don’t have 4 left, but it’s not going to be in the next update.
@dividom Good eye on the cloak. As for Jin and Rin, your Mother named them Jin and Rin because she thought it was cute, regardless of race (and living near mostly asian themed cultures helped). They’re loosely based on an indian friend of mine whose rich parents gave her a japanese name because her mother loved it. Blew my mind that someone could do that. Meditation bug is known and will be fixed. Romance values I’ll look through, fixed Fang but not Kosuke. As for NPC flags, their aura flag is to see if they’re a Martial Artist at all because before Chapter 4/5 Jin, Rin, and Kosuke don’t necessarily gain their first Advancement without your help. It becomes moot halfway through the game but is important before then. Their combat variable on the other hand is always important.
So basically
Durarara
Any way to go full fiend and reject your humanity in future games? I know it’s nightmare to code but maybe it can get integrated with transformation tech to make it more feasible
