I keep getting the same error here regardless of the option I pick. So I can’t advance further into the story.
Same thing happens when I try to pick the Characters tab in the Journal page.

Well that was pretty intense. Definitely will need to replay it several times to get all the various options.
Only ‘bug’ I met so far is being called their ‘brother’ by Leona and Bo during the hostage scene, while playing a female character.
Happened when I switched my focused techniques and tried to switch back. Happened to every other technique I tried to switch to after switching once.
Taio really put us in a torture session right after I buy new clothes? I’m more offended by this than the actual torture

Loved the update, completely worth the wait! Literally binge read and replayed it thrice over the course of the day, and am planning on replaying it again tomorrow.
A few things I wanna say though—the Blade’s Chi path, i.e, Leona’s route felt a little janky. Cause the whole pretending to be MC’s sister whom they are trying to find kinda doesn’t work when they were found together? Also the option of “let Leona go blah blah” also doesn’t work as Clone Man thinks she’s MC’s sister.
Also, felt like she was a little to eager to leave us behind to one-v-one the Mr. Clean lookalike, when the other ladies actually tried to help MC—Fang with her boosting our stats and Desmonda’s disciples healing/powering us up before the fight.
Just a suggestion, but maybe have Leona toss us one of her special swords to help in the fight, giving us a small edge, and also showing she doesn’t want MC to die and also trusts them as she is very possesive of her blades but is ready to part with one to help us out.
Also cause I think dual wielding is cool. Sue me.
And is it Li Sun everytime, who holds us at knife point as we are moving through the camp, or is it him only in Desmonda’s route? If it’s the latter then it’s cool, but if it’s him always, maybe have there be a Lore check to remember and recognise him if MC’s met them, cause I feel like there will be consequences down the line for letting out flirty neighbour blood-thirsty swordswoman murder him so casually.

How did you get the first scene
To be fair, it kind of seems in-character for her to abide by the your usual anime-fight code of conduct, and just decide that this a 1-on-1 honorable duel to the death.

Just dropped a few fixes before heading to work so people still asleep didn’t lose saves.
- Fixed the costs bug (we hope, that function puts in a lot of work).
- Kitsune can use the butcher’s shop.
- Attempted to fix a few implicit flow control problems (I suspect Dashingdon doesn’t use the same ChoiceScript version for all browsers?)
- Fixed the Jade Dragon Foundation breaking the game for people who skip chapter 1
- Tripled the save slots available
- Fixed Leona breaking the #Characters section of the Journal page
- Fixed Leona’s interrupted romance scene for the Akakiru Path
@Tyrant_Evil I likely will. I gave up on RO aspects and wrote his development toward a more legitimate counterpart to the MC instead, ironically it made RO potential with female MCs seem more organic too.
@Ronin_101 The Heavenly Ascension Trials are supposed to be the second half of the game so probably there. We’re about 1 chapter away, though I’m pondering how to write a script to export/import variables so people can start at the Trials and not have to replay over and over when the Trial chapters are coming out.
@Reaper_General You still need to explode the inn (alchemy+lore 3 and harvest the manure barrels) but you don’t need to use the evil tome.
@Kristian_Herron Weapon types may matter more later but right now the difference is just which cores are checked for how much AP you gain.

Pick Bladed Potential or Akakiru Style as your spirit attunement. That enables you to meet Leona as your master. Play her route in Chapter 5 and you can get to this scene once you’re at the mansion.

I can’t remember getting this boss talisman
Yeah I just went back and saw it. On that, I think there’s a bug somewhere, I didn’t choose the boss talisman but the option to say that I didn’t is not available when guiren asks whether I used it

It should’ve been mentioned by Guiren that he only has one more when he saves your allies at the mansion explosion, and then slipped into your pocket by Guiren as he leaves you the Taio fight to you.
I’ll do a test later to make sure that all happens properly, mode be a code issue or just a wording issue in the choice.

Question, how do we get the Cat Fight achievement?
I’ve only played upto chapter 4 (because a weird save glitch happened) and I gotta say holy moly. You really killed it so far with the secret race and the additional elements. I genuinely cannot wait to see what else you come up with. You writers are like superhuman to me. To be able to think of stories like this is insane to me.

@cultivator-anon I read a reply about the mc learning multiple styles rather than one. I think it’s a good idea. At least two styles just like the two elements can really make the MC more special than others. Like combining the Blade Style and Beast Style can really have devastating consequences for the opponents.

So what exactly is stopping MC from learning a new Element each time they Cultivate in a Heavenly Gate? From a mechanical/gameplay standpoint it makes sense so as to not make us overpowered, but what is the in-game lore explanation that a Martial Artist can have only two Elements at max?
