aoyusumu has telekenesis, flight, forcefields. kiihakai is wide-ranging if you include rituals but their whole combat doctrine is basically energy beams and bombs

What does “+ Light Affinity” mean?

it boost light element mastery

I would guess is that is boosts your light element proficiency, like having it go from novice to adept but since the frost belt does in fact do that for the ice element but it says “mastery” instead of affinity, i don’t really know.

Thanks. It threw me off, because of it being written differently than the Ice Mastery from the other item.

Domain expansions are basically kiihakai advanced techniques

now that i think about it… is there other place you can get light and fire element aside from the temple ?

ps. does mao know his son like to to shout a technique name << thing he seem to hate so much

You can get fire element in your first confrontation with Tao, if you have enough Lore and Alchemy you can fill a cart with explosive barrels and throw them at their base to kill them all by burning their base instead of going in to fight them, the flames allow you to get the fire element.

Technically Mao did the same thing in chapter 1 with the Thunderfall. I wonder what makes that different in his mind.

Damn, I blew up the inn in chapter 2 and only 1 bandit survived, who then immediately got enslaved or sacrificed in a blood ritual.

Dude has plot armor in the worst way possible.

You can master the water element before the trial.
Is there any other element I can master? I’ve tried to master fire but I’ve only reached adept level.

Hes fated to be my servant.

And I’d heavily recommend the commerce option. With the repeatables in the city, it looks like we’ll have plenty of ways to get more ships and retainers, but commerce seems really useful/I haven’t clocked many other ways to increase it, and I can only guess it’ll get more useful as we spend more time in the city for chapters 7b-10.

@cultivator-anon Bravo on chapter 7 so far. The city is so well fleshed out even only half done, and it really does feel like the MC’s reached a goal in getting there.

Also, double bravo with that secret scene on arrival to the Thunderfall sect in the city. I declared clan independence and had failed that deception check on Crusher Mao after the bandit mission earlier. I could not stop chuckling at the loophole scene.

Definitely keeping my eye on this and keeping my patreon sub active, this is the best WIP I’ve read in years. However many years it takes to finish, I wish you luck with your writing, and hope you get through burnout, should it rear it’s ugly head.

Probably cause HE’S/his son’s the one(s) doing it. They’re assholes like that.

I read one post here from a previous discussion that it was possible to incite a mutiny against the Pirate Captain if you choose to have the peasants that you captured back in the farm mission to raid the Sunbringer territory, but I haven’t actually seen it happen even though I did the supposed action requirement.

How exactly do you activate it, like what choices do you have to choose? And is there a specific background or fighting style that you have to have in order for it to appear?

If you have them raid, after you meet the pirates there’s an option that says “Hey don’t these guys look familiar?” Or something along those lines.

Order the bandits to raid Sunbringer territory for you, or let them go, in Ch.2 mission. Note, there needs to be at least 5 bandits alive (from initial 20) after you’re done with Taio. Doing things like blowing up the tavern, capturing them for your own benefit, having Kosuke deal with them etc, causes various losses to the initial number.
