I think you’re referring to the option to take the Grim’s mask in chapter 3 when going to the temple and killing it. In that regard, you break the mask down to cycle its Fiendish chi. It gives a minor AP boost and a corruption boost. I have had a request to add more masks for the player, however.

Just spitballing here, maybe a profession that could synchronize with Aoyusumu would be carpentry. Being a good carpenter requires precision, patience, and above all- the willingness to hammer in every last joint and nail to perfection. That stuff probably fits well with the mentality the exorcists of the Devanic Temple seek to cultivate.
Not saying I want a change like that or anything- just curious about what other people think about the profession synergies.
edit: I just realized it would make even more sense for there to be a synchronization between carpentry and Aoyusumu if the MC’s family was working on repairing the temple structures near the village.

This does sound nice, but I think it’d overlap with Blacksmith too much. Honestly the best way to do it imo is just have the MCs parents be shrinekeepers, boosting Insight or Lore. Fills a niche none of the other professions do.

À bureaucratic or agriculture would makes more sense imo. If got you’ve got any knowledge of Journey to the West the Heavenly Bureaucracy is a major thing ( and hilarious satire of confucian courts, mc get lore igsight bonus via the power of paperwork. I lean more toward agriculture tho given the games start and most farmers tend have a connection to nature that’s diffent from the trapper and might mean supplicsting a Kami or two (also no giant bird thats totally optional to worry about)

Is it possible to consume large amounts of corruption and not turn into a fiend? For example Oni are technically descendants of demons so is it possible for them to consume large quantities of corruption and possibly even become a demon? I mean the mc grows a tail after the corruption gate if they’re an oni so is it possible?

There are ways for certain, but they have chances of failure. ch7 will be delving into it a bit if you follow a certain choice

We were supposed to have chapter 7 today but life comes at you fast, will be splitting chapter 7 into two releases, one for the Trial setup and a few days in Nanhou for various quest options (120k+ words) and one to give the Trials the attention they deserve without starving the fandom for content.
