If stuff like that start happening, this might legitimately turn into the first Wuxia story with a ‘Lustful Demon’ type MC. At least the first I come across.

Talking about that, it would be really neat if we get a title / epithet at some point in the story or maybe we change title a few time as we accomplish more stuff. Even better if it changed depending on your race or weapon or bloodline. A monkey yokai who went all in on the staff fighting could get something like ‘Incarnate / Avatar of the Fighting Buddha’ and if we got with ‘changing / evolving titles’, that title would be the final tier of a title that start as something like ‘Inheritor of Ruyi Jingu Bang’ (or if it’s too grand for a starting title, something like '‘Student of Flower-Fruit Mountain’).

A MC that kept fighting barehanded would end up with a title like the classic ‘Fist King’ or something more original like ‘Barehanded deity’.

I mean, it let’s you use the shit that gives a temp bonus to a skill(which leads to a free skill point), makes absorbing shards cheaper, and gets you more juice from the juice gates or whatever. Like it has tangible benefits beyond stat checks.

Yea Insight seems to be about spiritual senses,like Martial artist aura and stuff while Perception is physical.

What are the optimal elements I can choose to cover the weaknesses of the Aoyusumu class?

I think I accidentally chose the worst options. Got fire from the manure barrels and storm from the temple. Only to find I could get the storm element from the next gate. While this is kind of funny because of obvious firebender jokes, I feel like these 2 elements fill a similar niche?

Tbh Fire and Storm is a super offensive combo from what i’ve seen they help with Soul and Power checks.
However Storm is different from Fire in that it gives speed advantages.Also Aoyusumu is a very defensive style so your elements seem pretty cool.Some elements are pretty versatile,Ice and Water for example.

Do you think I should skip the temple then? I don’t see why I’d spend 2 months on it if I don’t need it for fire and storm.

Well it gives a +1 skill and snu-snu if you’re interested but 2-4 months wasted are quite much ngl.
Tbh most ppl go there for Mina I feel.

If you’re not interested in angelo or having sex with a priestess, then the temple loses a lot of its appeal, but I wouldn’t ignore the +1 skill (what I would do in your place is not kill the bad guys with fire, but arrest them, then go to the temple to get the fire element and finally get the lightning element in the storm)
