Work in progresses are a great way. I would feel bad if I had to pay for some of them after getting so attached. I have already purchased almost every game but now I’m having financial problems. :((
Just gotta hope my favorite wip stay free because Guen is going to be a hit.
Where can I find city of clouds?
@Shirette just try demo in the official page and about Guen game @jeantown its going charge for games until all we write at least that what understood
My focus in college was Creative Writing: Poetry, on the back of a Bachelors in Literature. I took more than a few fiction classes as well.
Experiencing first hand, the effort needed to write “strong” single-threaded material (even 5 page short stories), I think the writers of great branching stories certainly “deserve” a few bucks. Ads or not.
What qualifies as good or great? I suppose reviews help with that, and I’m a big proponent of reviews across any medium. Unfortunately, all the effort in the world can still result in a below average narrative. You need to have the practice, the blood, sweat, and tears under your belt before your attempt to write your “breakout story.”
My personal reason for hating City of the Clouds:
When you first talk about archaeology, uncovering ancient tombs, the first thing you’d think of would be Indiana Jones or maybe Lara Croft style action. That was what I expected when I bought City of the Clouds, at any rate.
However, once people bought it, it turned out to be more of a selective humour type of thing; it’d be nice if you’re a college student or whatever the target audience was, but for 99% of the people expecting to play Indiana Jones, the game had trolled them and cheated them of 3 dollars.
I’m not exactly sure whether city of the clouds is funny or not; to some people, it might be, but when I was reading it, all I could feel was that I was trolled by my favourite game developers. In short, the people who bought it had expected VERY different things.
City of the Clouds ALWAYS assumed I was an alcoholic, no matter what choices I made. Considering I hate alcohol, this was very annoying and made the story a lot worse. Not to mention it was more about crack cocaine and promiscuous sex than archeology.
