Like I said real fancy names for a street kid in a dystopian future…makes me think maybe, just maybe the mc wasn’t born a street kid. But I guess we’ll see.
They did live on the street as a kid and enlisted in the military and not as an officer like you’d expect from rich or influential kids, which is why I was thinking abusive home…but it could be something else too.
Maybe, before joining the military? But if that’s the case GUNI would probably have known that name and they do not. After the army the mc has had a long string of aliases.
These aren’t just fancy names, they are all names of popular roman emperors (well except Julius but you know, he counted in spirit). Ulysses might be wrong in thinking this is MC’s real name (these are good choices for an alias) or as mentioned it’s a hint about MC’s real background’s way posher.
I chose Hadrian, the wall-builder seems to fit the mc best, at least with what we know thus far, imho.
MC is fighting to keep bad things that threaten his society out, just like his namesake, it is also emotionally applicable due to the many mental walls the mc seems to have built around themselves.
Lastly I figure Hadrian makes for an easy earliest alias/street kid name of Harry.
Really fun update! I like the way that the worldbuilding is naturally conveyed in the narrative. I’m enjoying the dots slowly connecting to each other… I’m intrigued Also, after reading Ulysses/Ulyssa’s “childish, stupid fantasy”, I can safely say that me, the player, will make an effort to make their wish come true
That’d be awesome! The vast majority of my characters aren’t attracted to one singular gender and I’d love to have that here, too, if possible.
I assume the similar sentences back-to-back are there to emphasize the “familiar conclusion”? At first I thought they were events in succession so two glass shatterings and two screams.
I’m about two day’s worth of writing behind schedule, but I’m certainly still making good progress. A bunch of the elements of the conspiracy are stringing together in this one, I’m actually pretty excited to see what y’all think.
I should have it done in the next two weeks, hopefully sooner, but no promises are made. It’s shaping up to be a decent bit shorter than the previous two, but I don’t see any reason to artificially drag out plot points.
No, ITFO is explicitly a fantasy realm while Whiskey-Four features the actual earth.
Finally got around to playing this one too and damn man, damn. You are truly living up to your username! These games are like a piece of bacon done perfectly right, deliciously satisfying and even addicting at points!
I will be watching your career with great interest.
cool so you’re not just a time traveler who’s seen medieval military wars but also a time traveler who’s been involved in future corporate espionage and assassination, bet you have an aiu dossier lying around
can we get a third series based on your experiences on survival in prehistoric times or the ice age too?
We’ll see. I’ve got a ton of ideas for future stories once ITFO’s sequel and this one are sorted. Thinking maybe a historical-fantasy Renaissance Italy? Historical fiction about being a Varangian guard based off of the life of Harald Haldrada?
I should probably stop brainstorming or I’ll impulsively start a third WIP lol.
